  1. >Moonlight shines down as dirt crunches beneath your feet.
  2. >The forest surrounding you is eerily silent, as if it was devoid of life.
  3. >As unnerving as it was, the time you had spent here had already made you grown accustomed to it.
  4. >Walking down the path in front of you, you keep your head down and stare at the ground.
  5. >It was quiet, most people would take this time to admire the passing scenery, but it shares no interest with you.
  6. >Lightly stepping through the dark, you continue on with no particular destination.
  7. >How long had you been aimlessly wandering for?
  8. >At this point, you don't even remember why you were walking in the first place.
  9. >Lost in your own thoughts, you stumble on a loose rock beneath you.
  10. >The sudden jolt causes you to wake up slightly as you attempt to keep balance.
  11. >Hopping on one foot for a few steps, you come to a complete stop as you regain your composure.
  12. >With a deep breath, your trademark lifeless apathetic glaze returns to your face.
  13. >Well at least that was slightly exciting...right?
  14. >Pausing where you ended up, you take a look at your surroundings.
  15. >It was all the same really.
  16. >Nothing but foliage as far as the eye can see.
  17. >However, one thing did stand out.
  18. >To your right was a shack, a lonely building situated in the middle of nowhere.
  19. >For a moment, you consider passing it by, but your lack of alternatives made the decision for you instead.
  20. >Sticking your hands in your pockets, you slowly make your way over to the unusual run down building.
  21. >It doesn't take long to reach it.
  22. >Standing in front of the desolate shack, you twisted the door's knob, and surprisingly it wasn't locked.
  23. >You pause for a moment, one last second of consideration.
  24. >With a lethargic shrug, you pushed the door open and calmly entered, invitations not a real concern of yours to begin with.
  25. >Stepping inside, you find it was almost as dark as it was outside.
  26. >As you wander through the unusually large building, no one is there to greet you, the hallways empty save for the flickers of light coming the numerous doorways.
  27. >Glancing at each passing door with your eyes half open, you take note of how similar they all are, but ultimately dismiss them.
  28. >Even despite the new foreign environment, nothing really jumped out and grabbed your attention.
  29. >It almost felt boring even, but you didn't have anything better to do; so you pressed on.
  30. >With each calming step, you make your way towards the big twin doors at the end of the hallway.
  31. >As you reach your destination, you place your hands on the smooth material and push it open.
  32. >For a brief second, it takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the new light source.
  33. >But as your vision returns, you soon realize the scope of the place you had just entered.
  34. >The entire area was like a grand library of doors, an infinite hallway reaching as far above and in front of you as the eye could see.
  35. >You finally noticed that the light was coming from the torches adorning each special entrance, and with the light reflecting off it, you could now see the placard atop the door you had just opened.
  36. >'The Master List'
  37. >Staring at the sight in awe, you realized you may have finally found something worth looking into.
  38. >As you stepped forward and began walking down the hall, you took note of how this place too was devoid of anything to be considered company.
  39. >For the best really, you weren't very fond of others to begin with.
  40. >Sliding up next to one of the walls, you lightly dragged your hand across the stone bricks as you slowly continue walking.
  41. >Unsure of what to do with yourself in this vast space, you were startled as a door a couple rooms down opens in front of you.
  42. >Out from it emerges an Anon similar to yourself.
  43. >Running a thumb across his nose, he sneezes slightly and shakes his head a little before whispering quietly.
  44. >"Woo, holy shit that's good stuff."
  45. >Absentmindedly closing the door behind him, he took no notice of you as he ran across the hall and entered the door parallel to the one he had just left from with a slam.
  46. >Standing there like a fool, it took you a moment to process the fact that you were no longer alone for a brief instance.
  47. >But the familiar sound of silence assured you that this circumstance was not permanent.
  48. >Staring at the door the man just entered, your vision slowly made its way to the door he came out of instead.
  49. >Curiosity taking over, you found yourself briskly walking forward as you wandered over to the entrance that looked no different from any other.
  50. >Looking up, you stared at the faded placard engraved upon it.
  51. >'What is Flutterrape?'
  52. >Staring at it, you look down and slowly grasp the handle.
  53. >With a slight tug, beams of light began pouring out of the cracks as you opened the gate to the unknown.
  54. >The door swung open ominously, and as you looked inside, you saw nothing but blinding light.
  55. >Although, you barely managed to make out the mixed sounds of screams and laughter.
  56. >It was like it was trying to warn you of what was going to come.
  57. >Looking over your shoulder, you see you're still alone in this empty space and shrug.
  58. Gotta start somewhere...
  59. >And with those parting words to no one in particular, you step inside.
  60.
  61. >As time passed, you found yourself venturing from one door to another.
  62. >Each room was its own unique world, with its own adventures to be had.
  63. >And soon enough, it became your hobby to explore each one, cataloging each of them in order.
  64. >Occasionally when you forayed from one door to another, you'd come to find the hallways were suddenly filled with populace, only to have them all disappear as soon as evening arrived.
  65. >But even when the halls were filled to the brim with newcomers, your snooping still went unnoticed.
  66. >Soon enough, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months.
  67. >All by yourself, you took silent pleasure in inspecting each and every one of these creations on your own, like a sick voyeur peering into depraved souls.
  68. >At first you took pure joy in discovering each new world, but eventually, something stopped feeling right.
  69. >As you stepped out of your latest tale, the familiar buzz of people running about filled your ears, and as you reached out for the door beside you...you paused.
  70. >Instead, you pulled your hand away, stopping your usual routine as you opted to wander down the hall aimlessly like you had used to.
  71. >Crossing your arms, the many people going to and fro took no notice of your existence as you contemplated what was wrong.
  72. >Everything was great wasn't it?
  73. >Each tale another web of imagination.
  74. >Some good, some bad, but always interesting.
  75. >So why did it feel like something was...missing?
  76. >Unable to come up with an answer, you felt something scratch beneath your shoe.
  77. >Broken from your thoughts, you took a step back to look down.
  78. >On the floor was a beaten up piece of plastic.
  79. >Kneeling down, you picked it up and inspected it.
  80. >You had seen these before, though you didn't know their purpose.
  81. >It was a name card, one of many adorned by some of the residents here, except it was filthy, covered in dust and grime and the shoe prints of many passerby.
  82. >You tried wiping it off to see the name of who it belonged to, but the dirt simply smeared across, obscuring the name beyond all recognition.
  83. ...Worthless.
  84. >Frowning, you decided it would be best to just throw it away, but as you prepared to toss it away like a poor man's frisbee, it started to glow with a sickly dark light.
  85. Curious.
  86. >You looked down at the card only to see dark shades of grey and black shifting across the few undamaged parts randomly.
  87. >But what did it mean exactly?
  88. >As if it was answering your thoughts, the door beside you began to shine ominously.
  89. >You recognized this door, one of the many you couldn't open no matter how hard you tried.
  90. >Staring at the card, you raised your head and looked at the door, piecing together what you thought might make sense.
  91. >With the card secured between your thumb and your index, you limp-wristedly raised it up toward the wooden frame.
  92. >Suddenly, a loud bang echoed out as the sound of a lock being undone reaches your ears.
  93. >Without even touching it, the door swung open of its own accord.
  94. >Inside was nothing like you've seen before.
  95. >No world, no life, just a blank canvas.
  96. >That was when you realized it.
  97. >This. This is what was missing.
  98. >Placing the dirty card in your breast pocket, you started walking forward.
  99. >As you crossed over the threshold, you took a deep breath and smiled.
  100. >And for the first time since you arrived, someone finally took notice of your presence.
  101. >"Hey wait a minute...WHO GAVE THE NEWFAG A-"
  102. >With a slam, the door locked itself behind you, right before the higher up could finish his sentence.
  103. >Standing still, you gazed over the bleak landscape of nothingness and pondered what you were going to do with it.
  104. >However, it didn't take long before a voice interrupted your musings.
  105. >"O-Oh hello."
  106. >Glancing out the corner of your eye, you saw a yellow p0ny with a pink mane.
  107. >Another Fluttershy clone no doubt, you'd seen many of them by now.
  108. >Seeing you make eye contact, the mare tried to put on an optimistic smile as she greeted you.
  109. >"Are you my new master? What may I call you?"
  110. >With no name to call yourself, you lazily stared at her with your eyes half open, hoping your disinterest was apparent.
  111. >Soon enough, you spotted a sad crack form in her smile, but she covered it up quickly.
  112. >"Oh I'm sorry y-you're right, I should've introduce myself first, how rude of me."
  113. >Scratching her arm nervously, she tried to not look you in the eyes anymore.
  114. >"I'm just a bit new to this..."
  115. >Reaching out towards you, she offered her hoof for a handshake.
  116. >"My name's Fluttershy, what's yours?"
  117. >Ignoring her gesture, you turned your attention back to the blank canvas as you rubbed your chin in thought.
  118. >She slowly dropped her hoof again as you left her hanging.
  119. >"I...I suppose Anon is good enough."
  120. >Her nerves starting to unwind, she sheepishly walked in front of you, attempting to get your attention while also fearing it.
  121. >"Would...would you at least like an introduction on how to get started then?"
  122. >Satisfied with your thinking, you took your hand off your chin and looked down at the mare as you finally spoke to her.
  123. >Only a single poisonous word passed your lips.
  124. No.
  125. >In an instant, you could see the once weak, yet hopeful smile she wore crushed as her face became crestfallen.
  126. >Chin quivering in sadness, she tried her best to keep it together.
  127. >Stepping past her, you started walking through the void, where she soon followed.
  128. >"But...but why?"
  129. >Stopping in place, you decided this spot would be as good as any.
  130. Because I already know exactly what I want.
  131. >Confused, the yellow mare looked up at you curiously.
  132. >"And what would that be Anon?"
  133. >You stretched out one of your arms to the side of you.
  134. To be everything I -can- be.
  135. >Twisting your palm upwards, you balled your hand into a fist, your arm beginning to strain as you pulled it up towards the sky.
  136. >At the same time, the "floor" started to tremble as well.
  137. >As you struggled, a great oak tree sprouted and began to be pulled seemingly straight out of the ground itself.
  138. >It only took a moment before the new plant life was fully grown and towering over the two of you.
  139. >Fluttershy gaped at it as she stared in awe.
  140. >Not finished, you reached out with both hands in front of you, clenching your fists like you were grasping the air itself.
  141. >In one swift motion, you pulled them back towards you.
  142. >Suddenly, lush grassland rushed over, blanketing the empty canvas where you once stood.
  143. >The yellow mare beside you lifted her hooves up one by one as she inspected the grass curiously, thrown off by the sudden rush of sensations that hit her one after another.
  144. >Almost done, you took one final step.
  145. >Materializing a white leather book in your hand, you opened it and began skimming the pages.
  146. >The Catalog, records of everything you had kept track of in your time here.
  147. >Each page fluttering past on their own, the book started to glow with its own light.
  148. >As if yanked from the heavens, particles of light were drawn down from the sky, collecting themselves a fair distance away from you.
  149. >Watching them assemble, it was not long before the tiny balls of energy finally took shape.
  150. >What they formed was p0nies, a select few of your choosing, each of them situated a short distance away on all four sides of you.
  151. >With a loud thump, the book closed itself and faded away into bits of light.
  152. Well then, time to set the pieces in place.
  153. >Stepping lightly, Fluttershy followed you as you headed over to the first of your flock.
  154. >All by herself, a little white filly of purple and pink sat before you.
  155. >Sweetie Belle to be exact.
  156. >Obediently sitting down, she looked up at you and smiled nervously.
  157. >"H-hello."
  158. >Kneeling down, you inspected her craftsmanship.
  159. >Unsure of what to do, she kept quiet as you looked her over.
  160. >Holding her chin in your hand, you rubbed a thumb across her cheek.
  161. >Doesn't seem defective in anyway, good.
  162. >She tried to lean into your hand, but you let go.
  163. >Meekly staring at you with her puppy dog eyes, she asked the only question on her mind.
  164. >"Are...are we gonna be friends?"
  165. >Without saying anything, you stood up and took a step back, giving yourself a moment to prepare.
  166. >Making sure you were a safe distance, you suddenly grabbed your own throat violently with both hands.
  167. >Both Sweetie and Fluttershy openly panicked as they watched you seemingly strangle yourself.
  168. >Groaning in pain, you slowly but surely started pulling your hands away from you.
  169. >But at the same time, something unusual came along with them.
  170. >Struggling, the sick sound of velcro being pulled at the seams started to fill the air as you literally pulled yourself apart.
  171. >Before long, the two p0nies were staring at you with abject horror as suddenly you were holding a clone of yourself in an embrace.
  172. >Opening his eyes, the clone suddenly thrashed, freeing himself from you.
  173. >As he stumbled backwards to regain his balance, he looked directly into your eyes and glared, a thick snarl echoing out from him.
  174. >"Graahhh!"
  175. >Unfazed, you crossed your arms and glared right back at him in a more calm manner.
  176. >Silence soon filled the air.
  177. >Scrunching his face in annoyance, he turned around, twisting his head back and forth as he wildly inspected his surroundings.
  178. >It wasn't long before his eyes settled on Sweetie Belle.
  179. >Realizing she was in danger the filly stood up on weak knees, slowly backing away.
  180. >The crazy version of yourself began to follow her, his long stalking steps slowly but surely catching up to her.
  181. >Tears building in her eyes, the little filly's words came out weak and choked.
  182. >"No, please...stop."
  183. >Looking up at you, Fluttershy pleaded to you as her heart began pumping in terror.
  184. >"Anon you have to stop this!"
  185. >With an annoyed glance you looked down at her.
  186. Hush, just watch.
  187. >Dismissing her worries, you made sure she watched everything unfold.
  188. >Too scared to run, the filly tripped and fell, landing back on her flank.
  189. >And before long, Anon's shadow was towering over her, punctuated by heavy breaths escaping his nostrils.
  190. >Lips quivering with worry, Fluttershy looked back up at you, but you scolded her by pointing back toward the show.
  191. >Reaching down, Anon grabbed Sweetie Belle by the waist with both hands and slowly lifted her into the air.
  192. >Raising her until they were face to face, his bloodshot eyes glared at her without blinking.
  193. >At a loss for words, the filly's mouth quivered as she forced herself to stay completely quiet.
  194. >Tears streamed down her eyes, but she didn't dare make any sudden moves now.
  195. >Opening his maw wide, the hulking man's fangs showed as he took a deep foreboding breath.
  196. >Unable to handle anymore, Sweetie Belle closed her eyes and sniffled as she accepted her fate.
  197. >For a brief moment, there was nothing but silence.
  198. >Until the one least expected to broke it.
  199. >"...Shweeeetehhhh Beelllll."
  200. >You watched as the heated breath from his words washed over Sweetie Belle's face.
  201. >Tears still in her eyes, she rubbed them painfully until she could finally open them again.
  202. >What she saw was not what she expected.
  203. >The blood lust in his eyes gone, the man's breathing calmed down as he simply stared straight into her.
  204. >To her surprise, he slowly brought her closer until he was hugging her in a tight embrace.
  205. >As he sat down on the ground, everyone but you stared at him in confusion.
  206. >Holding her in his lap, he began to stroke her mane gently, and did nothing more.
  207. >With a smirk, you walked past the dumbstruck yellow mare.
  208. >Walking over, you knelt down on one leg next to the two of them, where Sweetie Belle could see.
  209. >Making sure not to interrupt Anon's petting, you cupped Sweetie Belle's cheeks in your hands.
  210. For you Sweetie Belle, I offer my anger...along with the strength I wish I truly possessed.
  211. >She followed your eyes as you stared up at the lumbering man, who continued to ignore you.
  212. He may be rash, but I hope one day he can be the friend you've always wanted.
  213. >As you held onto her, the two of them began to dissolve into light particles like the ones she came from.
  214. >In the brief instant before she faded from existence, you heard her whisper.
  215. >"...Thank you."
  216. >And just like that, they were gone.
  217. >Finally getting out of her stupor, Fluttershy settles down beside you again.
  218. >"So um, what now?"
  219. >Not bothering to answer her, you summoned your book again.
  220. >It comes immediately, but you already felt it has lost some of its shine.
  221. >No matter, it had to be done.
  222. >Along with your book, you pulled a quill out of its binding.
  223. >You looked at it and smiled.
  224. >A simple brown feather with nothing worth note.
  225. >All prepared, you raised your quill and stepped forward.
  226. >Reaching forward, you dabbed the quill's needle at the space where the pair once stood.
  227. >Suddenly, the air rippled, the image of the wide open area in front of you shook like the entire thing was made of water.
  228. >Smiling, you opened up your book to page one.
  229. >Dipping the quill into the liquid air, you pulled it out and scribbled a note at the top of the page.
  230. >In an instant the rippling air suddenly became solid, followed by a loud echoing boom as a clear see-through barrier formed, blocking any passage from that direction.
  231. >Sticking the feathery tool back with its holder, the book closed with a thump and disappeared once more.
  232. >You ran a hand along the smooth impenetrable surface.
  233. Perfect.
  234. >Turning to the east, Fluttershy awkwardly followed you as you made your way over to the next one on your list.
  235. >Over on that side, the one waiting for you was Pinkie Pie.
  236. >You could see her jumping up and down as you came closer.
  237. >"Ooo ooo! I saw I saw!"
  238. >With a hand on your hip, you looked at her lethargically.
  239. >"I saw what you did, you made her a friend! That's so amazing, I wish I could do that, OH I wonder what I'm gonna get hehe!?"
  240. >Watching her skip with glee, you almost wanted to chastise her, but you couldn't.
  241. >"Oh I can't wait, he's gonna be alllll mine woohoo!"
  242. >After all, it was you who made her that way.
  243. >Not wanting to keep her waiting, you straightened your fingers and the palm of your hand like you were about to perform a karate chop.
  244. >Instead, you turned the tips of your fingers toward yourself.
  245. >With a deep breath, you stabbed straight into your solar plexus.
  246. Gggaaahhhg!
  247. >Fluttershy stared at you with fresh sweat pouring down her face.
  248. >On the other hand, Pinkie stared at you with eyes as wide as dinner plates, an off-putting smile of excitement crawled across her face like she was a kid about to unwrap a present.
  249. >Hooking your fingers deep inside you like claws, you slowly dragged out the next piece of you.
  250. >Struggling, you grabbed hold with your other hand and pulled with all your might.
  251. >It felt like no progress was being made, until suddenly it came apart all at once.
  252. >With a loud tearing noise, a well dressed version of yourself stumbled forward, but ultimately lost his footing.
  253. >Luckily, Pinkie ran behind him, standing on her two hind legs as she propped Anon up to keep him from tipping over.
  254. >"Woopsie daisy, don't want my new bestest buddy hurting his poor old keister on day one; first impressions are EVERYTHING!"
  255. >Blinking a few times, Anon quickly came to his senses.
  256. >With his bearings in order, he stood back up on his own.
  257. >"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who the hell said we were buddies?"
  258. >Jumping excitedly, the pink mare started hopping in circles around him.
  259. >"I did! Just now!"
  260. >Watching her bounce up and down, Anon blew a raspberry and randomly stuck his foot out.
  261. >Somehow, she still managed to trip over it, her face planting solidly on the ground.
  262. >He let out a snicker before digging into the pocket on his coat with a four leaf clover imprinted on it.
  263. >Pulling it out, in his hand was a pack of cigarettes.
  264. >Smacking it against his other hand, he found there was just one left.
  265. >"Oh thank god."
  266. >Flicking his lighter, he brought the smoke up to his lips and took a drag.
  267. >After a moment, the mare below him pulled her face off the ground, peeling it off cartoonishly like a sticky piece of tape.
  268. >Smiling at him, he took another drag as he looked at her queerly.
  269. >With her face indented, she raised her eyebrows insinuatingly before sticking a hoof in her mouth.
  270. >In one strong breath, her nose started to pop back into place.
  271. >Eyes opening wide, Anon unconsciously let his smoke fall to the ground as it slipped from between his finger tips.
  272. >Inflating her snout again, she gave it a playful scrunch before turning around and giving Anon a big hug.
  273. >"Oh Anon, you're so silly."
  274. >Unable to come up with words for what he just witnessed, he simply stared at her.
  275. >"Are you fucking kidding me?"
  276. >He looked toward you.
  277. >"Are you seriously gonna let her get away with this shit?"
  278. >Ignoring yourself, you patted your legs and called Pinkie over.
  279. >Immediately, she turned and scurried over to you like a playful dog.
  280. >Kneeling down, you grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her so she was facing Anon again.
  281. >Resting one arm on her shoulder, you spoke loud enough for both of them to hear.
  282. >And as you did so, they both began to glow with light.
  283. For you Pinkie Pie, I bestow my arrogance...along with the good fortune I've always longed for.
  284. >The pink mare let out a giggle.
  285. >"Hehehe, that sounds fun!"
  286. >Rolling his eyes in an exaggerated fashion, Anon picked what was left of his cig off the ground and took one last drag.
  287. >"Oh ya, -loads- of fun."
  288. >As the two of them began to fade from existence, Pinkie looked at him and snickered.
  289. >"That's funny, you're funny! I think I'm gonna like you...a lot!"
  290. >Right before they disappear, he dropped the smoke on the ground, snuffing it out with his shoe as he mumbled to himself.
  291. >"...Joy."
  292. >And once again there was silence.
  293. >Summoning your book again, you prepared to do the same as before.
  294. >Retrieving the quill, you sulked slightly at how the once pristine leather had faded from white to a light grey.
  295. >With a sigh, you dipped your needle into their reality and began writing.
  296. >In mere seconds, a loud echo sounded out, and this area too was sealed off with a seemingly unbreakable glass pane.
  297. >Turning, you started heading toward the south, behind the great oak.
  298. >Nervously following your coattails, Fluttershy managed to pipe up.
  299. >"Well um...they seemed nice?"
  300. >As you were about to chide her with a snarky comment, you almost fall as your vision began to waver.
  301. >Stopping in your tracks, Fluttershy looked up at you with a worried expression.
  302. >"Are you alright?"
  303. >It took a moment for your vision to return.
  304. It's fine.
  305. >Shaking it off, you kept going.
  306. >Walking past the tree, Fluttershy was surprised as she was greeted by not one, but two p0nies this time.
  307. >Princesses in fact.
  308. >Stepping up to them, Celestia and Luna stood on opposing sides of each other.
  309. >With the calm and regal stature they were both born follow, the sisters sat and waited patiently for you.
  310. >They spoke no words, instead they simply nodded once with a sage look of understanding.
  311. >Reaching up, you grabbed your chest where your heart should be.
  312. >Gripping it tightly, you began to tear another version of yourself out.
  313. >This one didn't struggle like the others, and in one swift motion, he ripped out of you like an unwanted band-aid.
  314. >With no energy to speak of, the copy of yourself immediately fell forward.
  315. >But right before he hit the ground, a mixture of yellow and blue light kept him from collapsing.
  316. >With a gentle smile, the two of them turned him over, and gently laid his back on the grass beneath them.
  317. >Chuckling, Luna picked up the feathered cap he had dropped, placing it snugly on his chest.
  318. >Assured that he was okay, you (for lack of a better word) "collected" yourself, ready to address royalty.
  319. >Like a butler sworn to loyalty, you crossed an arm beneath your stomach and one behind your back, and bowed down formally.
  320. >And as you did so, each one of them began to glow with heavenly light.
  321. For you Princesses, I give my envy... along with my ambition for greater things.
  322. >With a smile, Celestia was the first of them to finally speak.
  323. >"Do not worry, we shall take great care with him."
  324. >Turning to her sister, Luna spoke next.
  325. >"Should he ever run astray, we shall be the shepherd that guides him."
  326. >Spurned on by their words, Anon opened his eyes.
  327. >Mustering what little strength he had, the minstrel lifted his hands up and caressed both of their faces, barely managing to spin weak words past his lips.
  328. >"Truly I must be blessed, to share what little life I have to offer... with beings as divine as thee."
  329. >As they began to fade from existence, the mares gave each other a slight nod of assurance.
  330. >And right as they disappeared, they both leaned down and gave him a peck on the cheek.
  331. >Alone once more, you summoned the Catalog again.
  332. >It had already faded to a solid dark grey, but you ignored it.
  333. >Dabbing your trusty quill into the illusion for a third time, the world rippled like a drop of rain hitting a pond.
  334. >With the "ink" in hand, you turned to the next page, scribbling down the next title.
  335. >Before long, a third boom echoed out, signaling the arrival of the third wall boxing you in.
  336. >Which only left one more.
  337. >Standing up unsteadily, you took a deep breath and ever so slowly started heading to your final destination.
  338. >To the west was a single mare, sitting by her lonesome.
  339. >A purple mare, who wore thick glasses, and who's fur was covered by a pale lab coat.
  340. >Seeing you approach, Twilight let out a nervous laugh as she scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
  341. >"I-I think there must have been some sort of mistake."
  342. >Smirking, you crossed your arms and listened to what she has to say.
  343. >Flushing with embarrassment, she closed her eyes and managed to force out her thoughts.
  344. >"I'mnotinterestedinotherspecies...honest!"
  345. >You chuckled, despite her intellect she still couldn't piece together that she was your creation.
  346. >But that was fine.
  347. >Kneeling down on one foot, you rested an arm on your leg and smiled.
  348. Don't worry, you don't need to be.
  349. >With her lips pursed, the blushing purple mare opened her eyes to see you still looking directly into them.
  350. >"But I'm only interested in science..."
  351. >Your growing smile only caused her tension to grow worse as she shifted in front of you uncomfortably.
  352. >So you let out a short laugh instead.
  353. Good.
  354. >Raising your hands up, you grabbed both your temples with the tips of your fingers and slid across.
  355. >Like skimming through water, the final copy of yourself slipped out with surprising ease, landing on the ground flat on his stomach.
  356. >His eyes were closed, his glasses unique to him were skewed uncomfortably, and he didn't say a word.
  357. >Your cheerful demeanor faded away almost immediately.
  358. >Clutching your chest, you took a deep breath and let out a painful shudder.
  359. >The purple mare in front of you flinched at the sound.
  360. >Licking your dry chapped lips, you put on your last air of authority as you tried to keep it together.
  361. And finally Twilight, I grant you my inexperience... along with the hope that someday I can change for the better.
  362. >As the pair began to glow with light, the mare looked down at your unconscious self and muttered.
  363. >"But...but I-"
  364. >Lightly clasping a hand on her head, you raised a finger to your lips and gently shushed her.
  365. Please...make sure he isn't alone.
  366. >As the two of them slowly began to fade away into white particles, Twilight looked down at him, assuring you with a teary eyed nod.
  367. >"Okay... I can do that."
  368. >In a matter of seconds, it was like they were never there to begin with.
  369. >Retrieving your book, you grimaced as you saw the leather had wilted into an inky black.
  370. >Quill in hand, you took one last stab and scribbled in the final title.
  371. >The note was punctuated with another loud echo as the place in front of your hand was sealed off by another clear barrier.
  372. >With the fourth wall in place, you were finally surrounded on all four sides, with no where left to go.
  373. >Standing up, you turned around and slowly hobbled towards the oak.
  374. >Fluttershy tried to keep you from falling down with each step, but it didn't do much good.
  375. >Sitting down, you leaned your back against the tree and let out a sigh of exhaustion.
  376. >Your movements had grown slow and weak, a sign of how tired you truly were.
  377. >In between breaths, you could hear Fluttershy panicking beside you.
  378. >"Oh dear, oh dear oh dear."
  379. >Breathing deeply, you turned your head to the fluttering mess.
  380. What's wrong Fluttershy?
  381. >She grabbed your face with both of her hooves and pulled you close for inspection.
  382. >"Oh no...Anon, your skin...it doesn't look right at all!"
  383. >Weakly lifting a hand up to your side, you looked over to see your skin had become dark and grey-scaled, like the life was sucked straight out of it.
  384. >With a cough, you couldn't help but chuckle.
  385. I'd like to see you split yourself apart and not get a little smudged in the process.
  386. >She looked at you with a stern frown.
  387. >"There's more versions of me than you could possibly count Mister and I'm not the one who looks like he's dying."
  388. >A smirk sneaked out onto your face.
  389. Heh, touché.
  390. >Closing your eyes, you felt yourself slide off the tree.
  391. >Startled, Fluttershy barely managed to hold onto you as you fell, opting to rest you on her lap instead.
  392. >Taking deep breaths, you chose to stay.
  393. >"Are...are you going to be okay Anon?"
  394. >Despite your panting, you managed a nod and grin.
  395. Peachy, I think I'll just...rest here for a spell.
  396. >Looking around, the yellow mare stared at the four walls that had blocked you in.
  397. >"We're all alone now huh?"
  398. >You yawned loudly.
  399. Yup...
  400. >Her nervous fidgeting slowly became apparent.
  401. >"Does...does that mean we'll be making our own stories together?"
  402. >Opening just one eye, you looked up at her only to find her peering straight into your face.
  403. >Closing your eye again, you smiled and shrugged.
  404. I dunno, probably.
  405. >You placed a cool hand on your forehead and furrowed your brow in thought.
  406. Surely you don't think there's only four pieces of me worth writing about.
  407. >Your pessimism unable to pierce her optimism, you heard her tail start gently flopping against the ground almost immediately.
  408. >"Can we start one right now then?!"
  409. >You turned your head away and chuckled.
  410. Not quite yet.
  411. >The mare looked down at you a bit disheartened.
  412. >"Why not?"
  413. >Smiling, you pointed toward the walls around you.
  414. >There was a bright flash of light, and suddenly every Anon was laying face down in the dirt of their respective worlds.
  415. Because the show has just begun.
  416. >With a cheeky grin, you watched them all stand up in confusion, only to split up into their varying paths.
  417. Heh, this should be good.
  418. >Watching them in silence, you felt something sharp poking your chest.
  419. >Digging into your breast pocket, you pulled out the name card that brought you here in the first place.
  420. >Even now, the stains covering the name made it completely ruined and illegible.
  421. >As you looked it over, you heard Fluttershy speak.
  422. >"Anon, I really hope we can write our own story together someday."
  423. >Staring at the card, you watched as it began to glow again with its eerie black light.
  424. Smudge...
  425. >The mare looked down at you with an absentminded smile.
  426. >"Hmmm?"
  427. >Stuffing the card back in your pocket, you turned your head and pretended to watch the show.
  428. Call me Smudgey.
