Danganronpa V3 Commentary - Hiro Shimono as Kokichi Ouma

Hello, I'm Hiro Shimono and I play the role of Kokichi Ouma.

I have just finished recording my lines for Danganronpa V3. I really had a lot of fun with the recording this time. Especially thanks to Ouma's character which is quite, well, now how should I put it. I guess you could say that his personality blows you away and that he has a lot of really intense emotions. Yeah, that's the kind of a character he is. I kept thinking that playing him was quite difficult. There were a lot of times that made me think "I want to do this! I want to do that!" while recording. But in the end I had a lot of fun with the role.

Now then, when it comes to Ouma. At the very beginning I was shown a picture of him. It was a normal picture of him just standing and when I saw it I thought that "Well this kid feels quite cute!" The materials also included things like his lines and such. The main impression you should get from Ouma should be that of a smile. He says things like "It's because I'm a liar." often. I kept thinking that I was given the role of a cute kid with the nuance of a liar, or rather it being something you don't feel from him at all

So when I came to the site for the first time I was told "These are the kind of expressions he makes." and was shown a sheet of his expressions. So, how should I put it. It blew me away. In a sense he makes some really awful faces. Haha, yeah, there are quite a few of those. But when I got to the actual recording, now how to say it, he was very, well, hmm... His title is the Ultimate Supreme Leader, but I myself kept wondering where the Supreme Leader part of his character was. There certainly are some bad parts, but he himself is, how should I put it, hmm... Ouma himself really wants to have fun with all kinds of things. He has strong feelings when it comes to having fun and outwitting others, so he's actually quite honest. There are parts where he gets crushed emotionally, but in the the impression I got was that he's really a honest kid.

So this time I would like all of you fans to consider the character called Kokichi Ouma. To be frank, in the scenario there are parts that made me think that he might be hated. There are scenes where he does awful things and says really mean things to others. But if possible, I'd like that kind of Ouma-kun not to be hated. That's what I really think. Even though he's that kind of a guy. Especially because he's that kind of a guy. That's what makes him interesting. So I think it would make me happy if you could get that feel from him.

So while playing and enjoying the game, please don't abandon Ouma.
