  1. We're writing to let you know we're enhancing our Caller ID feature. Soon, you'll see the word "verified" or its abbreviation, "[V]," associated with certain incoming phone calls. The verified indicator will appear on calls when the caller's voice provider has confirmed that the call is coming from a telephone number that has not been falsified. The display will appear on your phone, call log, and voicemail.
  2.
  3. This enhancement will help protect you against robocall scams and telemarketers who are using spoofing—a practice that makes their phone number look similar to your own—to get you to answer. Here are a few things to know:
  4. Verified Caller ID requires no set up and is provided at no extra cost to you. It will begin working automatically on your Comcast Business voice service within the week.
  5. It will not block spoofed numbers and it will not tell you whether a "verified" caller has good intentions, but Verified Caller ID will give you added confidence that marked calls are coming from a non-spoofed telephone number. Always use caution with respect to calls from unfamiliar telephone numbers.
  6. This does not mean that all calls without a verification indicator are nuisance calls or that all calls with a verification indicator are desired calls. We can only verify a call as non-spoofed if the caller is using a service provider that has the same advanced capabilities as Comcast Business. As more carriers adopt these capabilities, Verified Caller ID will be able to label more calls.
  7.
  8. We're proud to be at the forefront of customer protection with Verified Caller ID. If you have any questions, please call us at 800-391-3000. We’re available 24/7.
  9.
  10. Thank you for being a valued Comcast Business customer.
