Mad_Group session 1

[16:38:59]	Mad_GM	In the far North Western corner of the Equestrian along the shores of Lake Mareigan are the ruins of Chicacolt. Once home to an important navel base during the war, it is now nothing more than a balefire blasted ruin. But like most city ruins life still goes on. The city is home to a host of monsters, gangs and ponies just trying to make a living. Feral ghouls, radiation, pirates, raiders,...
	...gangs, the brahmin mafia, a minotaur cult, strange artifacts, mad scientist and robots. Our group has come to Chicacolt with a caravan looking for riches and plunder hidden within the city.
[16:43:49]	The caravan has reached its final destination at the small trading outpost known as "Short Stop". There are only a hoof full of building scattered around within its meager walls. The only buildings of note. Each has a sign above it reading "Stuff", "Warm Beds" and "The Tavern". These ponies are not very creative with naming things are they.
[16:48:08]	Volta	is sat atop one of the carivan cars looking at the outpost before letting out a small sigh and hopinh down to the floor.
[16:49:37]	Minuet	yawns and stretches.
[16:50:47]	Silvermane	struts beside the caravan, looking around at the small pit stop of a town.
[16:51:23]	Volta	stops and thinks her eyes darting around her as she considers her next move
[16:52:06]	Silvermane	"...Cozy."
[16:53:13]	Twobits	trots alongside Volta's cart, keeping an eye out for anything, ”Ah've seen smaller.”
[16:54:56]	Mad_GM	As the caravan enters the leader of the group is approached by a middle aged mare who is obviously a sheriff or mayor of sorts who has a brown coat and a blue and yellow mane and a large revolver in a foreleg holster "Hey Haul you see any sign of Combine's group? They're two day over due." Short Haul the caravan leader a short well build stallion with a yellow coat and black mane responds...
	..."Nope. Can't say I have. Last ah heard she was runnin the rout from Water Hole ta here." the Sheriff frown "Well shit. We needed those supplies. And all you usually in is ponies and a few guns. And we don't have the ponypower to spare ta send a group out looking for em."
[16:56:12]	Volta	looks back her eyes darting between the unicorn and earth pony before looking back to the town sheriff cocking her head to the side
[16:59:45]	Mad_GM	*Short Haul* "Hell I ain't gunna go look for her I'm just droppin off this lot and some ammo and heading back. Ask some of the new ponies,"
[17:00:12]	Minuet	sighs. Ponies were always going missing in the wasteland. But hey, if the pay was good, why the hell not?
[17:01:44]	Twobits	shrugs. if they couldn't handle a trip from Water hole, that'd be easy money. maybe even a bit fun, if things turne out right...
[17:03:37]	Volta	“missing pony? might be dangerous, sure to pay well however, would need support, extra guns” she s walks over to the sheriff keeping her eyes out for other ponies interested
[17:04:26]	Silvermane	"Not to burst the collective bubble, but ponies go missing all the time in the Wasteland."
[17:06:16]	Mad_GM	the Sheriff turns to the griffin "You willin to go out lookin fer em? It's real important that caravan gets here. Combine is one of the only regulars who bring in food and water an we is startin to run short."
[17:06:41]	"We are willing to pay ofcoarse"
[17:09:08]	Volta	nods "not recomemdid like this, need support in case of danger" her eyes dart around untill they meet Silvermane's "Mercenary barding unaffiliated, good, interested in job?"
[17:10:07]	Twobits	shrugs, ”Eh, lemme in. Me axe would just get rusty sitting here anyway.” she then walks up to the Sheriff, ”This Combine trade in booze?”
[17:11:05]	Silvermane	nickers at Volta, turning to the Sherrif. "What are the terms of employment for this task?"
[17:13:23]	Mad_GM	"She brings a barrel a booze in every now and then" looking back to Volta "I can offer 150 caps a piece. If you bring her back or proof that ... she didn't make it."
[17:16:14]	Minuet	shrugs. "Works for me."
[17:16:18]	Volta	looks at the sherrif "good deal, need caps for project, capeable support, deal" she nods to the sherrif
[17:17:21]	Twobits	nods, ”if ye let me have th' barrel if she's no' round, ye got yourself a deal.” she then pats minuet on the back, ”thet's the spirit!”
[17:17:58]	Minuet	shies away from Twobits' touch and glares. "No touchie."
[17:18:19]	Silvermane	"Cant say Ive ever been to the 'Watering Hole'." Silvermane sys nonchalently, levitating out his pistol to check the spark Cell boredly. "What would one expect heading there? I doubt you have caravans run there instead of prospectors because its so safe."
[17:19:01]	Mad_GM	turning to Twobits "You'd have to take it up with the Body Shots at the Tavern on that one"
[17:21:12]	Volta	cocks her head at Silvermane " valid question, chance of danger" she takes a deep breath through her nose "high"
[17:21:39]	Twobits	chuckles at minuet's reaction, ”heh, sorry. fergot.” she then turns to the Sheriff, ”ah. alrigh' then.”
[17:24:04]	Mad_GM	"It's 'Water Hole' and its on the complete other side of the city. It would be safer to follow the rout and go around. Lot of gangs and raider in the city proper." she then takes out a map and points out a rout leading around the northern edge of the city through a few small settlements "Start by following the road north east here up to Arlington. [17:30:50]	Twobits	smiles, ”Don't you worry about them robots. flesh or steel, my axe cleaves just as easily.”
[17:31:26]	Silvermane	tucks his weapon away. "Basket of Grandma's Breakfast, got it. Wheres your tradin' post?"

[17:33:14]	Mad_GM	Sheriff points to the building with a large sign over it that says 'Stuff' "Over there. Tell ol Brickles you're runnin an errand fer me and he should give you a little discount"

[17:36:52]	Twobits	glances at the group leaving, nods to the sheriff, and follows them
[17:37:27]	Mad_GM	as the group enters the shop they are greated by a young stallion with a dirty white coat and red mane "Welcom to 'Stuff' what can I get ya?" there is very little inside and it seems that most of the stock is being kept behind the counter
[17:39:03]	Silvermane	"How do you do. Names Silvermane, just wanted to see what you had in stock; Specifically either weapons, food, and or drugs and healing supplies." He put on a slight grin.
[17:40:38]	Volta	looks around "poor stock little chance of good equipment due to location and lack of guards" she thinks aloud
[17:41:26]	Twobits	stares at Brickles, thinking to herself, 'crimson mane? he could-nae be...' her face looks a bit shocked before she shakes her head, taking on a more calm, subdued smile
[17:42:18]	Mad_GM	Brickles ponders for a moment "We don't have much right now. Got about 7 boxes of pre-war food, 3 bottles of clean water and 5 bottles of dirty water as far as food is concerned."
[17:43:49]	Silvermane	shoots Volta an agitated look, turning back to salesponi with a smile. "And what of drugs or Healing potions? Stimulators can save you life, you know."
[17:44:58]	Mad_GM	"For weapons ..." he goes and rumages around under the counter for a moment "I have an old MEP, 2 .32 revolvers, an almost new .32 rifle, a beat up old service rifle, a .357 in bad shape and this here caravan shotgun thats not to beat up. Got plenty of ammo for the lot too."
[17:45:44]	"But I don't carry drugs and meds. Try the clinic they mite have somethin they could spare."
[17:46:05]	Volta	looks over at Silvermane before looking to the firearms not finding any of them usefull
[17:47:27]	Mad_GM	"Oh! Almost forgot bout that 10mm pistol. Things in real good shape too."
[17:47:33]	Silvermane	gives the weapon pile a brush over inspection, shaking his head. "Nah, cant say any of this tickles my fancy, though I might be stopping by later for some Spark Carties if things dont go our way. We're lookin' for somepony who supposedly runs supplies to this place...Combine, I think?"
[17:48:30]	Twobits	finally breaks her silence, ”well, tis a nice shoppe ye've got here, but I'm afraid yer wares just ain't what i'm looking for.”
[17:49:22]	Mad_GM	Brickles blushes slightly "Yeah I knows her. Comes by every week or so to /trade/. Nice mare she is. I hope she's OK"
[17:50:09]	Silvermane	's grin widens, and he whaps the young Stallion on the shoulder. "To trade, eh?"
[17:50:35]	Mad_GM	"It has been a while seance we got a proper supply caravan through here."
[17:51:16]	Brickles just smiles and blushes more at Silvermane's comment
[17:51:46]	Silvermane	"I'll do my best to bring her back. Thanks for your help... Heh, dont think I quite caught your name."
[17:51:48]	Volta	cocks her head to the side "indication of relationship with missing pony, could give information" she nods "is there anything you can tell us about her?"
[17:52:37]	Mad_GM	"Not that much sadly. We don't really talk much. And I do hope you find her."
[17:53:06]	"Oh sorry. I'm Brickles"
[17:53:45]	Volta	nods "indeed, if that is all we should moving" she looks at Silvermane
[17:54:00]	Silvermane	slowly gives Volta a look torn between horror, annoyance, and fascination. "Uh, right, Brickles. Thanks again. C;mon." He starts to push Volta out the door. "We should get a move on."
[17:54:17]	Twobits	snickers, ”Ye old dog. Don' worry. we've got a job t'get yer... business partner inta town on time, an' there ain't no job thet ken keep ol' twobit's down.”
[17:55:23]	Mad_GM	Brickles calls out as the group leaves "Ya'll come back now ya hear! And good luck!"
[17:56:21]	Minuet	snickers
[17:56:25]	Volta	hops into the air just above Silvermane as they leave "do any of you require anything else?"
[17:57:45]	Silvermane	mumbles under his breath about seeing Fire Ants with more tact...
[17:59:25]	Volta	nods "all right then lets move" she lands beside Minuet
[18:00:13]	Twobits	shakes her head, ”I'll be good fer a while. stocked up extra Wild P fer the trip, jus' in case.”
[18:01:05]	Silvermane	"You've got Wild Pegasus?"
[18:01:19]	Mad_GM	the Sheriff trots up to group as they leave the store "Almost forgot to give you a map." and holds out a rolled up map "I marked out Combines rout. You best get going takes most of a day to get to Arlington."
[18:01:57]	Volta	takes the map with a nod and flys back to the group
[18:02:22]	Mad_GM	"Good luck to yas and be carefull"
[18:03:59]	Twobits	nods, ”Real good stuff too. th' griphons sometimes visited me home village an' trade it quite a bit.” she then chuckles, ”No' that me fam'ly coul' ever refuse some good booze.”
[18:04:27]	Silvermane	"Well, I know where im heading when things get thick."
[18:05:08]	Twobits	sighs, ”Yeh. i'ssa nice place. iff'n ye don' mind how boring it is.”
[18:05:42]	Silvermane	"I've heard your accent before where im from. Someplace 'round The Hoof, right?"
[18:07:23]	Volta	looks at Minuet "clothing indicates intellectual, not quite what is expected for a mercenary job, Minuet correct?"
[18:07:54]	Twobits	nods, ”Yeh. jus' a few days travel north through the mountains. there's a town on the foothills too, but I've never been there.”
[18:08:24]	Minuet	smirks. "Intellectual, eh? I guess so, if illusions and games apply. I'm quite good at both."
[18:09:41]	Silvermane	'Cant say ive heard it much." He muses, rubbing his chin. "They always seemed a more secluded bunch... Buck wild when they needed to be, though."
[18:11:00]	Volta	cocks her head to the side looking at Minuet her eyes darting along the mares body "i see... still its plesent to meet you" she looks of to the side for a bit before looking back to the trail
[18:11:39]	Twobits	chuckles, ”Them's the family alright. honestly, we're not that bad a bunch, once we get used to ye. hay, iff'n he get us drunk, we're th' life ao' the party.”

[18:12:19]	Mad_GM	it was already mid day when the group left and after several hours it has begun to get dark. The group have a small 2 story building coming up on the right with several completely clasped buildings around it. It appears to have once been a convenience store.
[18:12:29]	Silvermane	"Yeah, that was noticed."
[18:13:48]	Volta	"recommend securing that building for tonight, travel in the dark inadvisable"
[18:14:46]	Minuet	"I dunno, are bloodwings common out here? Aside from them, night is no more dangerous than day."
[18:15:21]	Silvermane	"Uh, Bloodwings?"
[18:16:04]	Volta	"tripping, ambush, lack of pleasant scenery, good reasons not to travel at night"
[18:16:13]	Minuet	"Big flappy things, like to chew on everything. Come out at night mostly, but can still find the occasional one during the day."
[18:16:59]	Silvermane	"...Does Chicacolt come with one of those Survival Guides?"
[18:17:36]	Twobits	chuckles at Minuet, ”The chatterbox has a point. not to mention getting tired from travelling too long.”
[18:17:43]	Minuet	taps her hoof on her chin. "Idunno. That would have been a smart question to ask back in town, eh?"
[18:17:59]	Volta	looks at Twobits "that too"
[18:18:39]	Mad_GM	as the group come up to the building they can hear shouting and the tell tale gurgling hiss of ghouls. Once they get closer a brown earth pony stallion with a dark brown mane and an hourglass for a cutie mark and a grey pegasus with a blond come running out. The stallion turns around and points a strange looking device at the door, it making a *tweee* sound seemingly locking the door "Run...
	...Ditzy back to the TARDIS!" and they both run off around a rather large pile of rubble. Shortly after a strange *werp werp werp* sound can be heard.
[18:20:33]	Twobits	stops in her tracks, laughing loudly, ”Nother o' gran's stories thet's true...”
[18:21:10]	Volta	looks at twobits "you have insight on this?"
[18:21:32]	Silvermane	"...What."
[18:21:35]	Mad_GM	shortly after the ghouls break down the door the door. Most seem to just forget and start milling about but a few see our group and begin to run towards them.
[18:21:56]	Twobits	nods, still giggling a bit, ”Aye, I do. Not much, but a few things.”
[18:22:58]	Volta	looks to the ghouls and jumps into the air drawing her MEP
[18:24:32]	Twobits	shakes her head, ”Skittish little thing, ain't she?” she then looks to the ghouls, ”oh yeah...”

[18:37:02]	Silvermane	grimaces and whips out his Magic Pistol with a glow of silver magic. Ghouls. Why did it have to be Ghouls.
[18:37:29]	tries to line up fire with the two closest foes he can see.
[18:42:40]	Mad_GM	one of Silvermane's shots hits the center most ghoul in the rear leg causing it to screech in pain, while the other digs into the ground
[18:44:15]	the front group of ghouls stumbles towards our group getting uncomfortably close but nothing else
[18:46:21]	Volta	flys to the roof of the bulding landing quietly and looks back down at her group
[18:50:40]	Twobits	shakes her head at volta's actions, trotting up to the group of ghouls and bringing her axe down three times, each at a different ghoul, ”Let's get this started then!”
[18:54:09]	Mad_GM	Twobits first swing misses but her second swing strikes the ghoul to her left in the chest dropping it, while her third swing just barley misses going right over its head
[18:56:06]	the rest of the ghouls seem to be taking little notice of the fight and mill about doing nothing
[18:57:21]	Minuet	snrks and fires two more shots at the ghouls near Twobits
[18:58:08]	Volta	lays down on the roof holding her head up with her hands looking at her group one by one
[19:00:32]	Mad_GM	Minuets first shot slams into the side of one of the ghouls dropping it to the ground, it flails for a moment before going still, while her second shot hits a low pile of rubble kicking up some dust
[19:05:08]	Silvermane	takes the Magic Energy Weapon into his mouth, crouching a little and trying carefully to sight down the firing box...
[19:07:06]	Mad_GM	Silvermanes carefully aimed shot just misses his target
[19:08:04]	the two ghouls next to Twobits turn and attack her, kicking and biting
[19:09:50]	several blows connect but do little more than cause minor bruises through Twobits armor
[19:12:11]	Volta	stretches her wings out and grips her Magical energy pistol in one of her hands before gliding down swooping over twobits as she fires a aimed shot at one of the ghouls
[19:14:27]	Mad_GM	Volta finally enters the fray but her shot misses hitting the ground right next to Twobits
[19:17:19]	Twobits	grits her teeth as the ghouls kick at her, swinging her axe around once at each of the two ghouls, taking care to aim better
[19:22:34]	Mad_GM	Twobits swing cleaves through the body of the wounded ghoul, dropping it instantly, and continues to take the head clean off of the second

[19:24:07]	the remaining ghouls begin the stumble towards the group drawn to the sounds of fighting, they are now right in Twobits face
[19:25:22]	Twobits	chuckles, ”Deja vu...”
[19:26:00]	Minuet	groans and takes two aimed shots at the ghouls in front of Twobits
[19:28:16]	Mad_GM	both of her shots hit one in the foreleg the other in the chest, causing both ghouls to screech in pain
[19:30:55]	Silver mane jumps behind Minuet in an attempt to hide himself from the ghouls
[19:34:17]	Twobits	shrugs her shoulders, ”Come on, then! plenty of mine axe fer you all!” she then hefts her axe again, swinging it at the ghouls three times, adding another swing last-minute

[19:40:25]	Mad_GM	her first two attacks miss but the return swing connects and outright kills a ghoul, her other attack misses its intended target but catches another ghouls taking the top of its head clean off
[19:43:50]	the mob of ghouls has been thinned out quite a bit but they continue to come. 3 of them stumble up to Two bits and flail at her while the other 3 including the 2 previously wounded ghouls run over to Minuet and Silver mane, each attempting to take a bite out of them
[19:46:10]	two of the ghouls attacks strike Twobits in the right hindleg adding to her collection of bruises
[19:50:51]	the ghoul who attacked Silvermane misses, but the two who attacked Minuet both hit taking a painful bite out of her right foreleg and side
[19:57:30]	<--|	Ignis has left #mad_group ("Fluff goes in here!")
[20:00:45]	Silvermane	[Minuet] She shrieks as the ghouls fall upon her, telekinetically firing her pistol at the offenders.
[20:02:58]	Volta	lands beside Minuet takeing two aimed shots with her MEP at the ghouls
[20:05:23]	Mad_GM	Minuets first frantic shot hits Silvermane in the side, while the second strikes one of the previously wounded ghouls in the chest killing it
[20:09:20]	Silvermane	hisses form being shot in the side, growling something angrilly at the other unicorn as he too fires a few rounds and retreats
[20:12:37]	Mad_GM	Silvermane's first shot misses but his second hits a ghoul in the head vaporizing it
[20:14:53]	Volta	lands beside Silvermane fireing two aimed shots at the ghouls
[20:16:08]	Mad_GM	both of Voltas shot go wide slamming into the ground harmlessly
[20:17:37]	Twobits	's leg twitches slightly as the ghouls attack her, ”Ey, I'm not food!” she then brings her axe across the ghouls three more times, then tosses in the lucky fourth shot, just in case
[20:23:28]	Mad_GM	Twobits wild swinging misses completely, throwing her off balance causing her to stumble and almost fall over, but she manages to barely to keep herself standing
[20:24:54]	Twobits	sputters as she almost falls over, ”Ach, I'm not near drunk enough fer this!”
[20:25:53]	Mad_GM	the ghouls attacking Twobits take advantage of her distraction and lunge at her biting and kicking, while the one near the rest of the group goes after Volta seeing an easy meal
[20:27:03]	one ghoul lands a blow on Twobits but the force is absorbed by her armor
[20:27:44]	the ghoul who attacked Volta misses
[20:31:20]	Silvermane	[Minuet] After her retreat and subsequent gainin of a more rational mindset, she clenhes her jaw and takes three more shots at the remaining zombies
[20:34:37]	Mad_GM	all 3 of her shots strike home hitting the ghoul in the legs and chest dropping in with a gurgling hiss
[20:35:45]	Silvermane	takes a deep breath, ignroing the sting in his side and again trying to sight down the firing box
[20:37:46]	Mad_GM	Silvermane's shot goes wide and hits the wall of the store burning a small scorch mark
[20:39:47]	Volta	after ducking under the ghouls blow she drops her MEP and swipes her talons at the ghouls neck
[20:42:00]	Mad_GM	all of Voltas frantic attacks miss, hitting nothing but air

[20:43:59]	Volta	fires two aimed shots at a ghoul
[20:45:38]	Mad_GM	both of the griffins carefully aimed shots miss, slamming harmlessly into the ground
[20:47:06]	Twobits	mutters under her breath, bringing her axe across the three ghouls one more time
[20:49:38]	Mad_GM	Twobits mighty swing cleaves the head off of the first ghoul and sinks into the chest of the second, where it get stuck. But she manages to free it with a mighty pull, spilling black gore all over the ground
[20:51:04]	the final remaining ghoul cares not for its fallen comrads and attacks Twobits, flailing and biting at her
[20:52:14]	the ghoul looses its balance, and falls over as it franticly flails at Twobits
[20:53:37]	Twobits	shouts at the ghoul as she brings her axe down at it, making sure to aim
[20:54:35]	Mad_GM	Twobits axe sinks into the ghouls head splitting it in two
[20:58:29]	With night approaching and the mob of ghouls defeated our group must make a choice, continue on into the night or stop and make camp for the night.
