- HOW TO USE CUSTOM ARMORS WITH "NO MORE UGLY VAMPIRE LORD"
- (or at least how I did it)
- By Foresh
- NOTE: This guide only shows you how to do it with MODDED ARMORS, as they give you
- easy access to their meshes. I don't actually know how to get vanilla meshes on there.
- Something tells me it involves extracting from the archive (though illegal it may be, IDK)
- TL;DR: I don't have any idea what I'm doing!
- STEP 1: Download the mod and install it as normal
- STEP 2: Navigate to meshes/actors/vampirelord/HVL_Armor/f. In this file there should be NIF files labeled:
- -boots_0 and boots_1
- -circlet
- -cuirass_0 and cuirass_1
- -gauntlets_0 and gauntlets_1
- -gloves_0 and gloves_1
- Step 2.1: Although you don't need to, installing NIFskope lets you view the meshes (and maybe more, I haven't figured it out).
- STEP 3: Copy and rename meshes you want to use. You will have to make copies for both the _0 and _1 versions.
- Don't know which one is important, but taking the safe approach worked for me.
- use the same meshes for gloves and gauntlets. Again, don't know the difference, but worked for me.
- IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE FILES YOU WANT ARE ACTUALLY IN THE GAME'S DATA.
- MESHES ALONE WILL GIVE YOU A PONY PINK VAMPIRE LORD. YOU DON'T WANT THAT.
- Step 3.1: Alongside all that I would reccomend downloading "Better Vampires" or "Become Vampire Lord" or whatever that was called.
- while not required, it lets you manually become or be cured of vampire lordery. Saves you a lot of time doing quests
- and saves.
- STEP 4: Become a vampire lord and hope for the best. With this mod I've found the heavy melee strikes don't always land, regardless
- of what armor you're using. I think this is an animation issue and is a LOT harder to fix, and is completely beyond my
- (lack of) abilities.
