  1. SUMMARY
  2. - Heal to ~45 HP for Flannery
  3. - Take the early shop early (3 Energypowders, 2 Energy Roots, 2 Heal Powders). Consider skipping if Zig gave a Full Restore
  4. - Flannery: Lead Strength to put Slugma below half HP. This guarantees it will use Smog on every turn except 1. It will also allow you to take a bit more damage. Use an Energypowder if you get a bad combination like turn 1 Sunny Day into turn 2 Smog poison
  5. - After Flannery, you should be below ~20 HP. Walk around until you die. You will skip the rival cutscene (and desert candy) and warp to Petalburg
  6. - Petalburg Mart (post-Norman): 3 Super Potions, 1 Escape Rope, 6 X Speeds, 7 X Attacks (or buy 2 Super Potions and some Awakenings/more X Speeds)
  7. - Use candies when you normally would. You'll lose some useful levels for the late game, but nothing essential. If you get a candy from Zig, that will function as the desert candy (and 2 candies will give L36 for Winona)
