maria isabella has always been that smart kid. Being the only child, she had all of her parents' attention to her. From kindergarten, primary and all the way to high school, she'd always been the kid who gets straight As and learn quickest. She didn't have that many friends, since she was always caught up with studying and work. She couldn't take a break, she had to finish what she was doing. In result, she often became quite sleep deprived here and there.
now, that's besides the point. she found out about her power to control darkness and shadows when she was about 16 years old, but she shrugged it all off. she simply thought it was nothing and something was messing around with her, until one day she got a dream. a dream that seemed so real, she woke up in cold sweat.

in the dream, a young maria was alone in a dark room which seemed like complete nothingness. she then started walking, walking to what seemed like a door at the end of a hallway. for every step she took, the distance to the door only seemed to get further and further away. for some reason, the dream felt so real, but she knew it was a dream. a voice suddenly called her name from behind her. a male's voice, to be exact. it was deep as it echoed throughout the dark room. she turned around, only for extremely bright light to shine, engulfing the dark room into brightness. but the thing is..the darkness, the shadows didn't seem to disappear but instead they were somehow absorbed by her body. after what seemed like all of the shadows got absorbed, she woke up with a gasp.

she woke up shaking and breathing heavily. she got extremely curious and intrigued, so she did what first came to her mind; research. after doing her everyday morning routine, she got on her laptop and started to look up what the dream meant. unfortunately, nothing much came up. but she felt something, like something was pulling her towards a certain place..jeju island. the feeling was so strong, she knew it was no joke. she spent an entire year to study the korean language ane culture, then at the age of 17, she departed to korea all alone. it was hard to let go of her mother to head on to korea by herself, but she had to do it. when she was there, she saw what seemed to be shadows leading her to some place. she decided to follow the shadows, believing it was a sign. and she was right, the shadows lead her to the place she never expected to continue her life in, camp half blood.

now, she joined the camp and she's in their team as the team's brains. she carries a pen and a notepad whereever she goes, just in case there are some solving she needs to do. she's able to solve almost anything in a flash. how you may ask? well she was born with a gift, other than her powers of course. this gift is of course her incredibly high level of intellegence, granted by her godly parent, hades.
