The five roll frames are big red, big blue, red before big blue, and the two blue frames before that
cue for 2nd damage: link is outside of the explosion (second frame of getting hit)
cue for 3rd damage: link is inside of the explosion (third frame of getting hit)

small blue 1:
   2nd damage: good
   3rd damage: bad

small blue 2:
   2nd damage: good
   3rd damage: good

red before big blue:
   2nd damage: bad
   3rd damage: good

big blue:
  2nd damage: bad
  3rd damage: good

big red:
  2nd damage: bad
  3rd damage: good

When you unequip hovers does not matter. You dont need to hold a direction for the clip.
