  1. Have just written this in response to a comment on a friend's wall. Thought it might be useful for you guys if you ever have to do the same.
  2.
  3. Feel free to point out any issues and Ill correct them!

  6.
  7. I had given you the benefit of the doubt but you let me down with this comment.
  8.
  9. There is an element of truth to what you say, and that is the fact he has been under constant attack from an element within Labour. It has less to do with him than it does with socialism. Progress, Blair, "Blairites" like Mandleson and Campbell all have a very serious, very powerful axe to grind and will do everything within their power to halt this political movement in its tracks.
  10.
  11. Blair was arguably to the right of Major when he was elected, and in hindsight his efforts at privatising the NHS were second to none.
  12.
  13. Re-nationalising rail and healthcare has made Corbyn no friend to many rich, powerful businessmen, including Branson. And I think its fair to say (as per the original link) that most of the media have a lot to lose too.
  14.
  15. The Israel lobby of course also has it in for Corbyn, who is a lifelong supporter of Palestinian rights and is an outspoken critic of Israeli policy. If you watch that incredible expose doco on LFI you will see how they manipulate other MPs, the press and public.
  16.
  17. He is anti-war and has also shaken the arms industry and all those with shareholdings (many MPs).
  18.
  19. He is tirelessly campaigning for human rights, women's rights, LGBT rights, civil rights and even your rights... and has done so for the last 33 years, quietly without you ever asking him.
  20.
  21. He has won two leadership elections comfortably, and Labour is now the biggest left-wing political party going.
  22.
  23. He has forced the Tories to make 30+ u-turns since he became leader, something you might not have noticed while waiting for him to make a childish remark or putdown during PMQ. He has a fantastic record in Hansard now, for direct hard-hitting questions - pathetically ignored or dismissed by Cameron and May, to their detriment, since their record is also documented. How embarrassing for them in the eyes of a future historian.
  24.
  25. He has built a brilliant new shadow cabinet after a coordinated resignation campaign and coup attempt, and is still holding the government to account - daily.
  26.
  27. All of this has been done, while under the most ridiculous scrutiny and pressure. Smears, lies, and a personal vendetta unlike anything I have ever seen. His not bowing low enough was more newsworthy and took up more airtime / space than Cameron resigning. Do you not see a problem?
  28.
  29. The man has nerves of steel and has shown, without falter just how strong he is. Anyone else would have quit this path by now. He said he knows what real pressure is: not.being able to feed your kids.
  30.
  31. So for you to say what you have above, and just repeat the mantra that he is a "poor leader" and dismiss his "new kind of politics" like it simply isnt worth it - makes me wonder if you care about politics or the state that the UK is in right now at all.
  32.
  33. Well you bloody well should, because honest, moral people like Corbyn don't get to positions like this very often.
