>”I thought it was good.” Her dad says. “A laugh a minute, really.”
>Liby just sighs as she turns her head towards the window, watching the light posts pass through her blurred vision
>”Do you know what kind of ice cream you want to get? You didn’t forget we were getting ice cream after, right?”
>”I’m not hungry.”
>”Aww, that doesn’t sound like my Libby-gibby...” He says, “we can get a pint to go, I think.”
>”No, thanks...”
>”It’s not a school night, we could take it home and watch a couple movies? Maybe some of Luan’s old stuff?”
>”Maybe...” She mumbled, she missed her mom, who hadn’t been able to make it because she was filming in Georgia
>Probably for the better, so she didn’t have to see... That
>”Your mom used to get nervous too, y’know?” Linc said as he pulled into the parking lot of the ice cream stand.
>”Really?” Liby said
>”She would call every night before going on gigs; run through the jokes, make sure her routine wasn’t too disjointed, make sure it came off right. And it didn’t always work out, she bombed a lot then, but you have to, she said. You need to fall on your face and know that it can happen and that you are not going to die because of it.”
>”She never ran off stage.”
>”I don’t think she did, it’s been a while, but she definitely puked on herself. First club gig she invited me to, she got so drunk that- anyways, you are both very strong. You’ll be okay. Let’s get some ice cream, watch some movies, and not worry too much. Okay?”
