  1. The World
  2.
  3. 'The vastness of the universe is something few truly understand, but we will try to condense the useful information here, offering accounts of what is known and what is not known of it. The people that have spoken of the world are many, yet much too few of their words remain. Upon them, we are enlightened. Ilisater itself is divided in two parts: The Near Reaches where human civilization has progressed, and we remain the greatest factor of influence, as well as the Far Reaches, where automata do as they please.
  4.
  5. Despite our great attempts at it, we have rarely been able to send people there, and the only ones to return were the few who showed enough caution not to make it too far. Due to their sheer numbers and efficiency, we find it impossible to mount an exploratory mission at the time. It is only made worse by the fact that the Defense Ring which we built with their assistance in ages past, holds us both tied to this world. To leave Iliaster is a most daunting task (as is to enter it) and more often than not, those who leave or enter, do not go back.
  6.
  7. The world of Ano stretches out beneath us, and our surveillance systems have shown us some of what happens in it, the competing lands of Acrima and Keffar, the fall of An-Nevesha, Kalym and later Kalymon, founded by our very own, the soaring city of Avatars, called Dormina. Yet, we remain locked inside Iliaster... hoping that one day we may be free.`
  8.
  9. The Palace of Axioms
  10.
  11. -------/-------
  12.
  13. 'In ancient times, the Axioms used to gather atop a great tree called Terai, that was in fact one of the nine children of CRNA, the Great Tree of Time. Upon it we decided on the matters of the world, and we often spent weeks ruminating so that we could obtain the most perfect result. Of course, the nature of the tree distorted time as it was, so that it appeared we made every decision within a split second. The knowledge is not with us anymore, sadly, but we did build a most amazing palace instead.
  14.
  15. It is quite high, and the complex surrounding it is nothing short of majestic. The palace wards off Aether for miles, and the Province of Orcis was built around it with time. The amount of subsystems and facilities are maintained by the people of Orcis and in turn the tower protects them. In the past, we used the power of Terai to produce Prime Humans in great quantity...here we have to make do with mass produced automatons that act as defense forces. The Palace provides and protects, and the people provide for and protect it in turn.
  16.
  17. The inner areas are of incredibly luxury and fit to host Axioms. I make my home there, as representative of the people, and many functions of the government are also hosted here.'
  18.
  19. - Il-Iastra, Axiom of the Throne.
  20.
  21. -------/-------
  22.
  23. The Cphilian Complex
  24.
  25. -------/-------
  26.
  27. 'Behold this great complex. Set your eyes upon it, is it not majesty embodied? Two elongated structures limit it's sides, and in between them grows a vast garden of the rarest and more precious flowers and trees. At the very end, a large many-layered pyramid rises, whose purpose is to take in the light from the sun and convert it to energy for an entire third of the human populated portion of Iliaster. It is the magnificent beacon, Sol Cphilia. There is no light brighter than it in the entirety of the world. The surroundings are populated, and under the protection of the Knights of Cphilia, an order of guardians brandishing enchanted lanterns and golden spears.
  28.
  29. The insides of the complex are inhabited as well, by many people who tend to the needs of such a large organism. There is little need for governing as most of the people have a well-assigned role and do not tend to depart from it too much. The complex is open to almost anyone (barring the enemy of course, or banished criminals) although the Knights do their best to keep order. The older families, live in the higher levels and tend to keep to themselves.
  30.
  31. In the furthest area of the complex, lies the Astral Majesty, quite possibly one of the fastest vessels in the known universe. So magnificent it is, that I would allow none else to command it!'
  32.
  33. - Cphilia, Axiom of the Sword.
  34.
  35. -------/-------
  36.
  37. The Halls of Silence
  38.
  39. -------/-------
  40.
  41. 'A structure made of solid rock and created with the power of a thousand voices, calling upon one of the Stories of Legend. While the structure above-ground is nothing to scoff at, it does not quite live up to the other Axiom-built areas. Of course, this is because most of it is underground. The Halls of Silence are built like a maze for the express purpose of confounding intruders and sentencing them to an eternity of wandering. The numerous spells that sustain the structure, make it so that the labyrinth expands infinitely, space folding unto itself and walls repeating on a loop. One who does not know the trick or is not being guided by a Knell, will not survive.
  42.
  43. The Halls of Silence are home to my order, the Knells of Faures. Their walls are in fact, massive stone shelves for the many texts detailing our history, technology, wisdom and so on so forth. Deeper still lie the texts which detail the legendary stories. The duty of the Knells is not only to study our many texts, but also to memorize the stories, so that they may chant them with me when they are required. I have only had to call upon them thrice to this day, in our history in this planet, one which spans many millennia.
  44.
  45. I, the great Axiom Faures, stand at the very bottom, from where I command the Halls of Silence."
  46.
  47. - Faures, Axiom of the Knell
  48.
  49. -------/-------
  50.
  51. The Great Ruin
  52.
  53. -------/-------
  54.
  55. `Most have forgotten about our old home, but the few of us who do, could not easily part with it. A massive globe that collided with the surface of the Moon, and from it scattered many ruins and remnants. The technology is still intact and many have made a home of this place. Most fear the inside of the Colony Mothership, and do not enter it. The few Prime Humans who still choose to hold the ground here, the old ones, and then some who simply wish to remain by themselves are the only inhabitants.
  56.
  57. A clan who name themselves the Rra-Vir, allegedly after me have also taken residence in the outskirts of the great ruin. Numerous automata come here to question themselves and their motives and for this reason it is known as a land of peace. Even the 'enemy' is welcome. Many of the Laborer caste and even some Colons make their home here, in a surprisingly comfortable arrangement. Few have ever made trouble or turned to a life of crime, as many detractors of the Great Ruin often like to claim. It is a peaceful land, it's inhabitants kind. Of course, they do not take too kindly to outsiders being nosy, nor do they like hostile intervention.
  58.
  59. And among their number, I stand as first and foremost."
  60.
  61. - Rra-Shela, Axiom of the Voice
  62.
  63. -------/-------
  64.
  65. The Bazaar of Names.
  66.
  67. 'A large interconnecting network of streets, railways and stations of transport that connect the largest inhabited provinces of Iliaster. It's shaped somewhat like a starfish, with four 'legs' connecting to the larger four structures and their surroundings, while the fifth leads to the border wall, that separates the Near and Far Reaches of the moon. The center of the Bazaar is a vast city of its own, sprawling, teeming with life of all sorts. It is also home to the largest slum in the moon, albeit that is only a natural progression of it's size.
  68.
  69. The Bazaar of Names is so called after me. Trade flourishes here and goods from all over the moon are exchanged, from the basest materials to the rarest treasures. On top of this, it serves as a landing port for many intra-lunar flights. It was supposed to be a far larger construct in which vessels from far space would land. Unfortunate as is, that we are sealed here. The Bazaar has a local defense force that keeps the criminal element suppressed and organized crime from running rampant, as it once did. Tight spaces as well as pollution both of the air as well as of acoustic nature are fairly common.
  70.
  71. It is the true heart of Iliaster, I daresay."
  72.
  73. - Yaon-Manka, Axiom of the Name.
  74.
  75. -------/-------
  76.
  77. The Far Reaches.
  78.
  79. 'An evil realm, full of strange things. I have been there. It is dark and unforgiving, it feeds on the weak. Layers upon layers of metal, defensive networks and numerous constructs of unknown nature that I'd rather not explore. It is a maze of buildings that engulfs one side of the moon wholly. The automata call this place their home. In my travels I have done my best to map it out, however I have come to little understanding. The goals of the automata are difficult to understand, they seem to wish to cover the whole of the moon in their metal.
  80.
  81. The network is presided over by five 'pillars', the automata's attempt to emulate the Axioms. The Pillars reign over a large globe, and within it run a simulation of their conflict with the Axioms. For most of their existence they have failed to do so, until the recent invasion of the Near Reaches. This likely happened due to the prime human birth rates lowering until a halt. With the amount of power able to be used for a war effort by the Near Reaches now being possible to calculate, the Far Reaches could begin their preparation. War started swiftly and without warning.
  82.
  83. The entirety of the machine complex turned into a tool for war, and wandering there now is close to impossible."
  84.
  85. - Morrgin, Grandson of Morros, the Iron-Scaled.
