  3. The meter wide entrance to your domain fills you with new found power, nothing compared to what you had made on your own. Yet that same entrance fills you with fear and spurs some precautionary actions… You start with building a long winding hallway leading to your core situated at the far end of your Realm. The twists and turns block your view of the entrance, but you know it still exists. You rack your mind for some way to stop those that enter from destroying your fragile heart and the first of many projects began with sprouting a three-meter tall pillar from the ground at the back of your hallway. Along the pillars smooth surface, you embed yourself alongside a series of faux-cores to bye time while you find a more concrete way to save yourself… though any with an understanding of the flow of mana would be able to locate you quite quickly. [Gain Dungeon Layout: Winding Hall - Faux Core Pillar] [Winding Hall - the rough earthen halls playing on the mind of men (grants 30% chance challengers will flee)] [Faux Core Pillar - A pillar of hearts (Make effective health 20/20 when faced against non-magic opponents, crit hits negate this effect)] [Cost: 15;100 Mana]

  9. Traveling around Fynberg you begin looking for rumors of dungeons in the area, amongst the populace four are known. One is used as a mine by the Order of Plimbus and the other three located further from the city are garrisoned by the army to be used for training purposes. Since you planned on working in the mines anyways you decide that your first target will be the mines of Plimbus… when you arrive a day later the knights are more than willing to hire you on as a miner, though they are reluctant to allow you deeper into the dungeon. After a weeks work the Knights invite you to join them on an expedition to the first floor to test the metal of their latest recruits… The months spent in the dungeon’s depths were hard to say the least. The dungeon dive started with you, an officer and eight other recruits going into the first floor of the dungeon. With a loaned hammer at your side, you join the recruits in defeating lower level elementals, you feel yourself growing stronger as the weeks go by. It was during the second week when you sustained your first injury, the massive lumbering fist of an elemental smashing into your ribs dealing [3] damage. You sustain little damage after that but the group never proceeds past the first floor… When you left the Mines and returned to Flynberg you work for one of the farms around the area to fill your stomach with good food after weeks of water and hardtack. While you explore the city you try and find something for you to do with your ample free time, your first plan is to go and check the market street for a blacksmith and have them forge you a weapon. While the cost of materials vary quite significantly depending on their quality the cost of an average blacksmith’s work per unit of weight is about 20 coppers, though the cost of a premade iron short sword runs about 32 coppers. After you purchased some street food you continue exploring hoping to find some display of magic, unfortunately they don’t seem to find performing for common rabble as a priority here in Fynberg. 15. The Order of Plimbus is more than willing to allow a man of your stature to work in the mines, its monotonous work but you while your working you find more information about the dungeon the mines are found in. The dungeon is said to have eighteen floors, the first three of which are the mines from which a large amount of copper is mined. The next seven or so floors are home to large earth elementals and are the training ground for the knight’s recruits. Each of the floors has increasingly larger elemental’s and on the [Elite] you can find mana infused copper which sells quite well and is used to make the knight’s suits of bronze armor. Those seven floors usually had one if not two recruit teams each patrolling, keeping the elementals in check, and looking for [Elite]s to make some money off of. The bottom eight floors are off limits to anyone other than the actual Knights of Plimbus, and a small outpost is built at their entrance where a good number of them live. 20. Actions:
  21. You spend much of your time during the last twelve weeks in the forests that cover the mountains to the north. Much of that time is used hunting and looking for items that might improve upon your barebone’s situation. Much of what you catch during your hunts are snakes, the rabbits and foxes far to quick for you to get with your shovel. The common forest snake, while not the most poisonous creature out there could do some internal damage if you had gotten hit. Your searches into the ground net you a few more morsels in the form of small hill moles, there eyeless heads and bright pink snouts contrasted with the inch long claws. Other than a few moles you find a small number of malachite crystals nearer to the mountains and a small rusted dagger that you used to help skin your prey, it will likely never be usable in combat though. Your one big catch was a large doe, you happened to be foraging in the tree above a small clearing when a small herd entered. Patiently waiting you eventually got the drop on the doe knocking her to the ground as the others fled, a quick bash to the head knocked her out cold and the knife did the rest. Using the large pelt to carry your other loot you finish what was a relatively productive summer. [Gain Skills: Navigation [Level: 1]: When lost in an unknown area gain +5 to rolls on finding a way back to a known landmark. - Foraging [Level: 1]: When in a familiar wilderness you will gain a +5 to foraging for food per level] - Tracking [Level: 1]: Allows you to track prey from the scenes left in the wake of their travels, gain +3 per level to tracking rolls]] [Gain Gear: (3) Forest Snakes skins - (2) Hill Mole velvet - [Doe Skin Satchel]: Alleviates the weight penalty of up to 12 small items - (3) small Malachite]
  22. Event:
  23. While you dug around nearby where you found one of the small crystals of Malachite you strike rich, a small vein of copper is discovered. You could turn this in for a good bounty to the local government or petition for a mining license. You can’t really estimate how much the small vein would contain but your guess would be about twenty units of smelted copper. [Mines slowly fill back up in this universe]

  26. Actions:
  27. Your summer is spent in the stuffy old government offices overlooking the harbor. The Treasury’s main function after they stopped minting coin locally was as port authorities, thus leaving you working on importation taxes and docking fees whenever you aren’t running errands for your boss. Your boss was in charge of the western ports and was the wife of her boss, one Sir Buthe who was in charge of all three docks and owner of the local dockyard. He was one of the four men in charge of the Treasury as a whole, the others being Lord Plimburfh, the Leader of the Knights of Plimbus and in charge of the local mines, one Mister Juhr who was in charge of the businesses in the city of Fynberg and lastly you had Robert Bruhj, current Owner of Bruhj’s Apple Cider Brewery and in charge of collecting taxes on the farming villages that dotted the valley. Your attempts at befriending your boss and subsequently her husband alongside your hard work have left you with a well paying job but little maneuverability… Providing for yourself sustenance wise proved to be no issue, a few flirtatious words at one of the port pubs gave you ample access to blood, though the side effect of getting in drunk on alcohol during the ecstasy of drinking blood had left you in some odd situations over the summer. At some point you had gone to the market to begin looking for a way to defend yourself if such a situation were to get out of hand, only to find the blades out of your price range… a basic iron dagger costs 18 coppers, nearly two months salary for such an ugly thing left you appalled and having one custom made had the price skyrocketing. [Gain Occupation: Port Clerk - Pays 10 Coppers per [Turn] for free, doing “overtime” will net you 2 coppers each time] [Gain Gear: 14 Copper Pieces]

It becomes apparent over the next few days that men aren't her preferred sex and she had done the exact same thing you were doing now. While not explicitly stated, she seems to think that she would make a great port Supervisor in the absence of her elderly husband… and if your relationship was something more than just employee/employer than she may consider putting you in charge of the western docks.

It wasn’t until you keeled over in pain after days of eating the small purple berries from the overhanging river trees that you knew you were in trouble… You woke up weak in a straw bed, an old man with a shaven face leaning over you.
