  1. NOTE: I'm talking about the Skeld Map here since I don't have much experience with Mira HQ and Polus. However, Mira HQ and Polus also have admin monitors so the tips I provide here can carry over to those maps.
  2.
  3. If you've read my previous guide, I mentioned that I always stick around in the Admin room after completing my tasks. Why you may ask? It's because on the left side of the table (the right side is where you do the swiping card task), there is a monitor. When you check the monitor, it brings up the Skeld map with player icons in different locations. These icons are the same, so you don't know who is who. As you probably guessed (or know) by now, the Admin monitor tells you where players are in the map, with the huge limitation being that you don't know who is who.
  4.
  5. If you don't know who is who, then what's the point? Why not go to Security to check the cameras? Let me answer the second question first.
  6.
  7. First off, you don't usually catch impostors killing a crewmate on the cameras. Experienced impostors avoid camera spots and kill crewmates in "isolated" areas, such as Electrical or Navigation, which both can't be seen on the cameras. In addition, if nobody guards you, you can become an easy target for the impostor. Security's vent leads to Electrical and MedBay, and this vent route is arguably the best in the Skeld map. I will say that checking the cameras limit the impostor's list of areas to kill crewmates, but again, experienced impostors are not reckless enough to get caught via cameras.

  9. Now, it's time to answer the first question. To do this, we need to consider another question (sorry for asking too many questions, I'm trying to make my guides as engaging as possible). What can the movement of player icons tell us, if we don't know who is who?
  10.
  11. Let me pull up an example. An impostor kills a crewmate at Electrical, then uses the vent to go to MedBay. Since the admin monitor tracks the movements of all players, it can also track the impostor's movements. That's right. It can help catch impostors who use predictable vent routes, such as the Electrical/Security/MedBay vent route.
  12.
  13. To explain this in more detail, let us refer to the example I just mentioned. The impostor and the crewmate are at Electrical, so you would see two player icons in the Admin monitor at Electrical (but you don't know who's there). The impostor kills the crewmate, meaning that one of the player icons will not move for the rest of the game (it will vanish when a body gets reported or the emergency button is pressed). The impostor uses the vent to go to MedBay, so the other icon will move from Electrical to MedBay (which obviously is an irregular movement). Bingo! Using the admin monitor, you deduced that the impostor used the Electrical/MedBay vent route. Now, all you need to do is to rush to MedBay and see who comes out of MedBay (or who comes from the left side of the map into Cafeteria if you're not fast enough). That person is the impostor! Push that emergency button and out them! Alternatively, if you're scared that the impostor would move to the left side of the map and not to Cafeteria (after they went to MedBay via Electrical vent), you can keep tracking them on the admin monitor until they get close to your location, then push the emergency button after you see who it is.
  14.
  15. There are two other benefits to using the admin monitor. You're safer in the Admin room because it's right next to Cafeteria and is not "isolated." Impostors are less likely to kill you and will instead target crewmates who are further away from Cafeteria (also, the Admin room is right next to a camera). Finally, if two players are in a room together, it's worth it to rush there and check it out. Who knows? Maybe you'll catch the impostor killing a crewmate (which I've done many times with the admin monitor). Or you'll find nothing of interest. If that's the case, you can go back to the admin monitor and keep tracking player movements.
  16.
  17. TLDR:
  18.
  19. The admin monitor is useful for tracking player movements/locations, which can expose an impostor using a vent route. Additionally, it is useful for finding dead bodies (icons that don't move for a long time) and catching an impostor killing a crewmate on the spot.
