+Surfpurzel __ Sometimes you disappoint me. Here's the thing. What I have been writing to you has been to explain something - not to attack you or put you down.

I don't hate or dislike you. I am trying to help you to understand. But if you want to interpret my words in a negative way then that's how they'll seem.

We have had problems in the past so that's understandable.

Terran made it clear what "severed" means and so did I. I have mentioned it more than once that for an English speaker it can mean only one thing. The problem is I then went on to give additional explanations (more than I probably should have).

Yes - the word can have other meanings - *but not in that context*. (That's why I gave you some examples above to help you understand that the context is what tells us the intended meaning [unless it was an intentionally flawed translation - but here I go again trying to explain too much].)

What I was saying is that the ONLY WAY to dispute that it means "bodies without heads" would be to examine the original French.

Since you do not have access to the original French this cannot be done. That was my point!

Without access to the original French then this is a dead-end. *You just have to accept that "severed heads" means "decapitated bodies" (headless bodies)*.

We are not trying to mislead you or lie to you.

The reason I mentioned you were playing games is because +Benjamin Donkey really did explain the situation several times.

If you don't understand it - and it's not because you're playing games - then it is due to the language barrier.

I also know what the problem is. You don't understand my "humour". Much of the time when I am writing to you (and others) I am trying to be light-hearted. I try to make points with humour.

When I make points to you it can seem like I am "attacking" you but I am not.

Rather than get defensive just ask me for a simpler explanation. I am not going to get upset with you and it won't trouble me if I have to explain something a dozen times.

Your English is good - don't get me wrong. But the mistake I am making is that I am writing to you as a native speaker and so there are things that you won't notice.

But this is a problem I have with native speakers as well! The only people I get along with here are intelligent people who have good comprehension skills. I almost always have problems with everyone else.

I'll make more of an effort with you - just give me a chance.
