  1. Tone's Origins, a brief look into a Mega Man world where there are robots masters illegally produced. @joey_tone
  2.
  3. The year is 20XX, advanced robots known as Robot Masters are storming the industrial business for multiple tasks that humans consider too difficult. However, there is an underground society to the use of these robots. Doctor Albert W.Wily reprogrammed the original set of Robot Masters created by Doctor Thomas Light in order to destroy and take over necessary manufacturing plants. His plans were thwarted by the aspiring hero Rock, a robot created only as a mere helper and a son who begged to gain the abilities necessary to defeat Dr.Wily. Mega Man has defeated Dr.Wily six times now. After Dr.Wily was put in prison, many saw what he had done with the power of Robot Masters and now...
  4.
  5. His schemes are done by similar minded people.

  12.
  13. ???: Identification... Tone, EMN-001.
  14.
  15. A robot with long hair looks up, the night sky shines with stars glowing down onto this lost soul. He awakes with a basic outfit, black pants and a black shirt, with a cyan scarf around his neck. He sits in the woods, outside of the city that awaits him...
  16.
  17. ---SEVERAL MONTHS LATER---
  18.
  19. A robot roams the alleyways of the city Megalopolis. He has forgotten all memory about who he was before he found himself in the city, he's what is known as an Unlicensed Robot Master. Though he does remember some information. His name is Tone, his body is formed somewhat lanky with staggering height, his designation is EMN-001, there is no record of this designation existing anywhere besides his original program data. Tone lives his life in an abandoned bunker, he has made the place his own surviving mostly on street smarts. He has multiple computers set up, a charging chamber he created from spare parts for self repair and status, and he also has internet access. His personality is a bit carefree, somewhat cocky, intelligent and tends to like to do things his own way. But there is an exception to this when he found out about the hero Mega Man after seeing the news of Dr.Wily's imprisonment.
  20.
  21. Tone had been researching Mega Man for a long time after he woke up, he created armor that looked exactly liked Mega Man's, a perfect replica inch by inch... With the exception of the scarf he wore to stay original in some form. He would spend his time honing his skills and scaring off common street criminals. Soon, Tone would dive into deeper cases. He would soon discover the criminal world of underground robots committing crimes, some getting more and more serious.
  22.
  23. MIDDAY - MARCH 6TH, 20XX
  24.
  25. TONE: Hey, Hold on a sec! Put the Pistol down or I'll shoot!
  26.
  27. The scene is set, Tone is aiming his buster at an underground robot master threatening a robotic bank teller with a plasma pistol held in his left hand. Multiple humans are in the room covering their heads and lying on the floor.
  28.
  29. EXPRESS MAN: Are you really trying to stop me from shooting a replaceable little bank teller? You must be pathetic.
  30.
  31. Express Man is one of the many underground robot masters that are known at least, the police have seen him around before. But this was the first time someone bothered to take him on. Considering that Tone is not known to the public, this was an inconvenient case for him since he was in broad daylight.
  32.
  33. TONE: I'll care even if he's replaceable, what matters is nobody gets hurt. That's what I've learned from Mega Man!
  34.
  35. EXPRESS MAN: What would that matter if I decided to kill a human?
  36.
  37. Tone pauses for a moment. And he looks at the crowd nervously.
  38.
  39. TONE: You wouldn't be able to do that... First law of robotics, remember?
  40.
  41. EXPRESS MAN: Do you really expect a criminal to follow some rules a bunch of idiots setup?
  42.
  43. TONE: I... I know you're bluffing! We can call this off and you can turn yourself in!
  44.
  45. Express Man in that instant looks over to a child, the father of the child tries to cover up the boy with his own body.
  46.
  47. EXPRESS MAN: How about you call this then?
  48.
  49. TONE: You and I both know you're not going to do that. So let's do what Mega Man would do, make you apologize and move on-
  50.
  51. Express Man lifts up his right arm and in an instant the room flashes white, Tone looks in horror as Express Man's arm had turned into a Buster with smoke fuming from it. The shot has been fired, but it is not the child that is injured, the father lies on the ground in front of the child thriving in pain while covering his shoulder, it appears he was the one who took the bullet... Tone slowly turns his head back to Express Man in a mortified expression.
  52.
  53. EXPRESS MAN: Like I said, I don't play by stupid rules like you do-
  54.
  55. Tone rushes over, and grabs the Robot Master's neck and slams his buster into Express Man's chest. He bears his teeth and stares at him with an intense silence, all that's heard for the next couple of seconds is a buzzing from Tone's Buster. Then, Tone fires a Charged Buster shot into Express's Torso, piercing a hole through almost the entirety of it. The crowd looks in horror as they see Tone clenching the robot's neck tight in his hand... Then, one voice speaks up.
  56.
  57. CHILD: Why... Why didn't you save my daddy. The real Mega Man would've saved him!!
  58.
  59. Tone let this kid down, he has never felt defeat like this before. A feeling of absolute guilt encompasses the robot. The sounds of sirens are heard near the building, it appears the Police have arrived. Tone makes no hurry to leave as he feels his identity cannot be compromised. In a moment of quick reaction, he teleports to his abandoned bunker home. When he gets there, he sits down and has to think for a moment.
  60.
  61. TONE: How... How the hell did this all happen?! I-I could've stopped him!
  62.
  63. Tone pulls a blank for the first time, he takes off his helmet and looks at it.
  64.
  65. TONE: Mega Man... Your philosophy is to not let anyone get hurt and to give everyone a chance, but if I don't act quick enough and if they won't change then what's the point!!
  66.
  67. He throws the helmet across the room, exhibiting an outburst of anger and confusion uncommon to most robots.
  68.
  69. TONE: How did it take me this long to realize, that when a hero shows up he isn't always going to save everyone?!
  70.
  71. Tone sits, for what feels like hours. When he finally goes to pick up his helmet. He dusts it off a bit, noticing two cracks near the widow's peak. He decides to put the helmet back on and take a walk. As he leaves his bunker home, he notices that it's almost sunset. Tone decides to go to one of his favorite locations, the stadium. It's closed down at this time, the lone robot figures this would be a great location to spend some time to think and try to feel better. It was turning dark, the stars were shown like the time he first woke up. But, soon Tone would notice something different. Two blue crystal lights shine into the arena's darkness from above.
  72.
  73. BASS: Hey punk, you think you can go around looking like Mega Man and expect to be a good fight?
  74.
  75. TONE: What the- Who are you supposed to be?!
  76.
  77. Suddenly, the figure jumps down from the top of the stadium. He stares directly at Tone, this figure was unknown to Tone... However he did have a name, his name was Bass and his armor was dark, his head piece has fins like a viper and a crystal in his helmet's forehead. A larger crystal was implanted in his chest piece. His shoulder pads and the rest of his face were illuminated by the crystals. The purple strikes going down from his eyes also stood out with his angered expression.
  78.
  79. BASS: I hate robots like you. You're some weak idiot like you who thinks dressing up makes you the strongest around.
  80.
  81. TONE: That's not why I dressed up like that! I only went out looking like Mega Man to be a hero!
  82.
  83. BASS: Some kid on the news talked about how a Mega Man impersonator got his dad injured, you don't sound like a hero to me.
  84.
  85. Tone groans as he lets out a sigh and changes his stance towards Bass.
  86.
  87. TONE: I didn't mean for that to happen! I was just doing what Mega Man would do himself! He always tries to fix things when problems are at their worst and he gives every robot a chance for forgiveness-
  88.
  89. BASS: I don't care about that! I'm here to give you beating because I'm supposed to be the strongest! I don't want any more competition and I want to take care of you first! Some wannabe punk with an ego with no real strength needs to be taught a lesson!
  90.
  91. TONE: What's wrong with being a wannabe if I just wanted to do the right thing?!
  92.
  93. Bass glares at Tone, looking into his eyes. It's almost as if he radiates anger, feeling. You can feel a strong, fiery attitude in Bass's voice as well.
  94.
  95. BASS: So you want to keep up the act! You know if you would've just not gotten involved then maybe that stupid robot wouldn't have shot that kid's dad-
  96.
  97. Tone instinctively activates his buster and aims at Bass, this catches Bass off guard and he is knocked down.
  98.
  99. BASS: Where the hell did that come from?!
  100.
  101. Bass gets up, his body fumes with rage.
  102.
  103. BASS: I'm the strongest robot created!! I'm not gonna give you the chance to beat me!
  104.
  105. Tone's eyes sharpen as Bass lunges forward, he fires an array of plasma bullets at Tone. Multiple of witch piercing through his armor, slowly breaking it. Tone is sent to the ground he rebounds off the ground and kicks himself into the air. He lets out a grunt as he aims to take out Bass with a charged shot.
  106.
  107. BASS: Some dedication you got for learning aethletics to help with your combat, but that won't be enough against me!
  108. Bass says this as he leaps into the air, Tone fires a charge shot but misses. Bass then drop kicks Tone and sends him crashing into the ground of the stadium. Tone struggles to get up, his armor is starting to fall apart from suffering that much damage.
  109.
  110. BASS: Tch, you're weak. That fight was barely anything, I don't even need to destroy you. I bet you alredy know you're defeated.
  111.
  112. Tone stares at Bass while lying on the floor. His gaze is fixated on him.
  113.
  114. BASS: Even if you wanted to do the right thing and play hero, get your own getup.
  115.
  116. TONE: To do... the right thing...
  117.
  118. Bass scoffs and steps on his buster, fully cracking it's shell.
  119.
  120. BASS: Learn your lesson, I hope I don't have to see your ugly mug around again punk.
  121.
  122. As Bass makes his exit via teleport, Tone stares up into the sky from the ground... Broken both physically and mentally. But, in the events that had transpired he finds his resolve To do it his way... He never considered this as an option, but his determination is still there. Tone begins to pick himself up off the ground and he begins his walk back to the bunker. Once there, he gets to his computer and starts modeling an armor design base digitally, he then projects it and uses actual materials to create it. He modifies his current buster to one with a different processing setting to be quicker and more agile. His armor, is painted a shade of navy blue, gray and cyan. Featuring a chestplate that goes from his chest to his shoulders with cyan highlights in the rims, his scarf rests upon his neck. His helmet has a visor, on the sides of his helmet two tufts of hair peak out from each end and long flowing hair is let out on the back of the hlmet. The design of the extruding pieces of the helmet though, are practically identical to Mega Man's, a memento to his previous beliefs and a sign to indicate justice and fighting for what you believe in. It is surrounded by a gray segment, forming in the same pattern that Tone's helmet had previously cracked near the widows peak. When Tone puts this new armor on, he feels... Complete, like there has been more of a path opened up to him and that he has become his own person, learning from his previous experiences... He smiles greatfully at what has happened to him, how his eyes were opened and how this needed to happen to him. This is where his Tone shifts.
