He has a request for you - it's on the way to the Resort, so worry not. You handled those bandits and ne'er-do-wells skillfully, so he believes you more than capable of this. An retired Ranger friend of his currently visiting the Resort asked Joakim to handle it, but he cannot; he has urgent business in Boole. He asks you to hear him out, at least?

Nick whistles. "Sure, alright... what's the problem, chief?" He wonders if, as a Ranger, his tasks will consist mostly of pawning off his own duties to random strangers.

"Back in Connough, we ran into a huge, Delta Onix... I wonder if it's more like that? What kind of sinkholes, how big are they?"

Fran:
Fran shivers the remark of sinkholes, "How dastardly! I can see why one may think of this as an issue of peril! I for one enjoy standing on solid grounds."

Ivan:
Ivan was more interested at the possibility of rescuing people/looting corpses. "You really think it's just from one delta?"

Joakim:
"I can't be certain, of course. There could be other trickery at work. Whatever it is, it's nothing that has occurred before." He adjusts the sword-like cross on his tie, "The holes are localized, small affairs. But large enough to swallow people and Pokemon alike."

Nick nods to Ivan. "You still got that climbing gear?"

Ivan:
Ivan knew the others would more likely than not offer to do it for nothing so he quickly spoke up. "Alright, but what would we be getting in return? Keep in mind we already agreed to another job and all."

"Most deeds go well rewarded! I've been technically paid twice for my lucky encounters. I'm sure this would be no different?"

Ivan saw no reason to say no when they weren't obligated to actually do it if they didn't like it. "You know what? Fair enough. We'll give it a look." He could really use an endorsement like this to wave around.

"I'd certainly invite Lady Scarlett to join us but she's got places to be. I'm sure she'll send her regards in however negatively twisted wording she uses. Will that be all Ranger Joakim?"

"It will. I hope to see you safe some day. I have to leave now, unfortunately - business with my sister." He begins to walk away, but turns back, "Wait, of course - my friend, you should be ablet o find him at the Pokemon Center, or else visiting the theme park itself. His name is...well, his former Ranger codename was Blackacre, the former nameless Ranger. Anyone there ought to know who you're talking about."

"The sad part was the moles and Onix weren't even half as bad as that damn Quagsire. There's a reason I gave it away."

"I simply cannot wait any longer! A task being handed to me must be completed with haste!" She messes with her Pokedex to point her in the general direction as the Resort and nabs up her bags, and Nick's too. "I'd say it's time for us to tackle this issue right away!"

She's about a block away before she realizes, "Wait, do we take the train there or do we walk?!"

Joakim marked the suspected area on a map for you, and you head that way. It's...a bit slow going. You don't know when, exactly, these holes could appear, so it's best to be cautious. There's...nothing around, regardless. No Trainers, or trace of them. The number of Pokemon in the forest dwindles from 'few' to 'none' the closer you get. The last couple of Pokemon flee past you at breakneck speeds. One pauses, in front of a bridge, afraid to cross. It pays for that hesitation - the ground before the bridge opens up! A chasm swallows the Zigzagoon whole! It's completely gone, now... As is the ground. It didn't look like the earth collapsed so much as...disappeared, completely. You hear a faint buzzing in the distance, as well as an eerie calling.

Sanya stares hard at the hole in the ground, but also at the bridge. She wonders how it'll hold up, with the ground near the posts gone completely.

"Do you think whatever is causing it will react to something that's floating? I will volunteer myself as tribute to enable the ground to well up!"
