BACKGROUND :

Adalia was born in Lisbon, Portugal to King Henrique and Queen Sofia. She was schooled by the best tutors’ money could buy in foreign languages, etiquette, geography and history. By the time she was 8 she was fluent in 3 languages(English, Spanish and Portuguese) and could name all the known kingdoms.

Despite all this her parents always favored her older brother, Sebastian, the heir apparent. He was strong, charming and an excellent fighter, the perfect heir and the perfect bargaining chip for marriages. Adalia was strange and headstrong, with a love of cooking and fighting things a princess shouldn't do. Her parents had attempted and failed to make multiple marriage alliances for her, she was just a little to independent and stubborn for the eligible princes and lords.

She met Seokmin on her 13th birthday, she snuck into the kitchens to find her cake and he caught her telling her off before he realized she was the princess and backed off, terrified of what she would do. They grew pretty close and Adalia went down to the kitchens every day to sit with Seokmin after breakfast was served and the kitchen wasn't too busy, he taught her how to cook. Adalia considers Seokmin her closest friend and confides in him things she would never tell anyone else, everything except the fact that she likes him.

Sadly, when Ada was 17 her brother died in a hunting accident and she, the eldest daughter, became heir to the throne. This threw her world upside down and suddenly she was thrust into the limelight at court and everyone was vying for her attention and her hand in marriage. Because of this she stopped being able to go down to the kitchen as much, instead having to study harder and train more to become fit to bear the crown. To become a Queen her brother would have been proud of.

Every Saturday morning Adalia would get up early and go down to the kitchens to help Seokmin, who was now a cooks apprentice, prepare the pastries and fruits for breakfasts. She loved listening to him sing as he worked, his warm voice calming her after a stressful and hectic week.



PERSONALITY:

Intelligent & Eloquent
	- Ada has been learning to speak well her entire life, lessons on dictation and cadence, word choice and persuasion all training her to be a well-spoken and charismatic speaker and Princess. Adalia has an ability to persuade anyone to her side and convince others to do things for her. She is very well read and has been taught by the best tutors in the world. Adalia is extremely intelligent and has a quick wit, she is difficult to lie to and even more difficult to trick. She has a strategic mind that is always planning her next move whether it be military or social.

Loyal & Altruistic
	- Adalia loves her people and her country, more than she loves herself. She is willing to give up her own self interests and needs to help her people. She would rather starve on the streets than let her people go hungry for a minute. She is constantly coming up with new ways of being self-sacrifial. Ada is incredibly loyal to those people and things she cares about, she will fiercely defend them and stand by them no matter what.

Hardworking & Dedicated
	- Adalia is very hard-working and has an amazing work ethic. She takes responsibility seriously and always follows through on her promises and agreements. When Adalia loves something she puts 100% of himself into it, whether it is a skill or an interest. She develops deep and all encompassing interests in a small number of things. She is constantly working to better herself through practice and use. Her current interests are: cooking, sword-craft, music and military strategy.

Stubborn & Headstrong
	- It is difficult, if not impossible, to change Ada's mind once she has made it up unless you are one of the very few people she trusts. She is stubborn to a fault and incredible strong-willed, she will do what she wants and think what she wants. Adalia does not take well to being given orders and likes certainty and order.

Perfectionist & Harsh
	- Ada has always been a perfectionist, although in recent years it has gotten to be damaging. She always tried to do her best but now she constantly tears herself down when she does anything other than the best. It has gotten to the point that Adalia struggles to feel proud of her work and always feels she should have done better. This can lead to her being very harsh in judgement of others skills or work – this is never mean-spirited.

Guarded & Manipulative
	- Being a Princess Adalia has been surrounded by the toxic social system that is court for her entire life. This has taught her that friendships are alliances and bargaining chips, used as needed and made as they become useful. This damaging environment has made her rather guarded and manipulative. Guarded, because she constantly feels like she could be the pawn in somebody else's game, and manipulative because she has learnt how to play the game, and play it well. She can trick people into falling for her ploys and helping her even if they didn't originally want to.
