- The morning comes after the battle with Athel, and Engir awakens from his exhaustion, after having carried an unconscious, battered Arastalia back home.
- Engir rubs his forehead, pained as he tries to remember the events of the past night.
- Astrid lays on the side of her bed for a while, her eyes half open.
- Engir: "(Still asleep. I should make some tea or something.)"
- Engir rises from his bed, and feels his way to the door to open it.
- Pitch groggily awakes, leaving his sister to rest, and to attempt a breakfast for her
- Pitch: "(Urrgh... long night, long day, we need a break from this stuff...)"
- As Engir exits the room, a wave of cleanliness washes over him, with the halls and walls of the guild having apparently been cleaned extremely thoroughly.
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Big brother... don't go..."
- Pitch: "(Melodi, you're awake..?)"
- Astrid sits up on the edge of the bed, entering the hall after getting dressed.
- Engir: "Mmm, now that's more like it. I should wash, myself."
- Catkin Maid catches sight of Engir, and bows to him.
- Catkin Maid: "Good morning, meowster."
- Engir: "Oh, it's you! Your handiwork, I presume?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm up, I just..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...I had wished it was a nightmare..."
- Pitch: "...mm...today I'm going to try and find that cleric for some healing magic..."
- Engir: "Meowster... that's quite the way to put it."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Terita said she felt like her eyes were feeling better, so I had hoped I might feel better too by the time I woke up..."
- Pitch: "And I can guess your condition right now..."
- Pitch places a hand on his sister's shoulder reassuringly.
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm sorry..."
- Catkin Maid turns, and bows to Astrid.
- Anarod: "Hng, wow it's stupid cold out t- oh dammit."
- Astrid stares down at the floor, unaware of the catkin.
- Engir: "Had an ice sleep, brother?"
- Catkin Maid: "Good morning, meowstress."
- Pitch: "It's okay, Melodi, it's okay. We'll get you healed up and back to normal seeing again, promise."
- Anarod lifts his head towards his brother.
- Anarod: "Watch this."
- Engir tilts his head, generally curious.
- Astrid: "Gespent, who did th--"
- Astrid looks up at the catkin.
- Astrid: "Oh...you're not Gespenst."
- "Is this your work, miss?"
- Anarod makes a quick kicking motion, and the blanket, made solid by frost, entirely lifts up and falls to the side of the bed, its shape frozen hard."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe attempts to get out of bed, struggling to get her clothes on over her nightclothes.
- Engir: "Geez, those dreams are getting serious after the whole imp nightmare deal."
- Pitch: "Should I call, um...another girl to help you?"
- Anarod: "Gonna need to heat this thing back up."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm a big girl, I can... um."
- "Can you help make sure this looks alright in the back, big brother?"
- Engir: "Oh, Dahlia should be here later! That should beat Antille's cooking."
- Anarod: "As long as she doesn't use infernal chicken eggs or something."
- Astrid smirks at Anarod.
- Engir: "Now I wonder if you can cook something summoned. I fear someone will have tried it."
- Anarod: "I'm sure you'll be able to ask around in Broken Top."
- Engir shakes his head.
- Engir: "Ugh, good point."
- Anarod: "I can't imagine there isn't someone over there who doesn't spice up his morning meal by summoning a devil bird to lay down a fiend egg for him."
- "Cooked on the raw flame of a fire elemental, because why not?"
- Engir: "Maybe you should ask them for a steam elemental hot water bottle to keep you warm at night."
- Anarod: "That's just asking to make some kind of mess."
- Engir: "The perfect broken-top invention, then."
- Anarod: "Good point."
- Catkin Maid: "Is the cleaning to meowster's satisfaction?"
- Engir: "It's been a long time since I've lived somewhere with maids. Even then..."
- "If it doesn't bring back too many bad memories, did Athel put you through a lot of training?"
- The catkin tilts her head.
- Catkin Maid: "Training, meow?"
- Engir: "You made this place spotless overnight."
- Catkin Maid: "I don't sleep, meow."
- "Lorelei helped too, meow."
- Astrid: "Don't sleep? Hmm."
- Engir: "Oh right, of course..."
- Catkin Maid: "Don't sleep, meow."
- Astrid stretches slowly.
- Engir: "Either way, it's nice to see this dingy place looking so orderly."
- Astrid: "Mm......Engir, should we start gathering provisions?"
- Catkin Maid: "I'll do my best, meow."
- Engir: "Hmm, Astrid. I should take inventory of what we seized, first."
- Astrid: "Ah, of course."
- Catkin Maid: "I didn't clean the bedrooms, meow. I didn't want to intrude while you slept, meow..."
- Engir: "That's good manners of you, girl."
- Astrid: "Now would be a good time, miss."
- Catkin Maid: "(Mistress Nalzij would kill me if she heard I went into someone's room, meow...)"
- "Lorelei put the stuff she carried back into a room opposite the kitchen, meow."
- Catkin Maid bows, then heads to clean Astrid's room.
- Engir: "Hmm, that reminds me, I have all of Hilra's ingredients, now."
- "You know, I can't help but look at the composition of our team and wonder how happy the heavens are with me."
- Anarod: "Well the saps out there are all about forgiveness and whatnot, no? Our team's sure been exceedingly strong on that front, for better or worse."
- Engir: "For better or worse, indeed."
- "Right, let's discuss things at the table."
- "I could use some tea, and it'd do good for Ara to have something like that to wake up to."
- Pitch: "You look pretty fine, sis, seems"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Alright."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe hops out of bed, carefully holding onto Pitch for guidance.
- Pitch guides Melodi out of the room.
- Pitch: "Good morning, everyone..."
- Engir: "Good morning. Just about to grab some breakfat."
- Pitch: "Ah, right, breakfast. I'll guide Melodi there...her eyes aren't getting better, so I'll need to search for that cleric, see if she can help..."
- Anarod: "Might take another day if she needs to secure the right spell, but I'd be surprised if she couldn't."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm sorry..."
- Pitch guides Melodi to the table and helps her sit down.
- Engir: "There's plenty of blame that could be shunted to me or Laria too, Melodi. I'd just focus on coping until your eyes heal."
- Dahlia opens her door, yawning a bit as the party starts to wake.
- Dahlia wanders into the room, a bit drowsy.
- Dahlia: "Ah, everyone's up already..."
- "Sorry about the lack of breakfast."
- Pitch: "(Melodi, after Breakfast, we'll look for that cleric lady to help, okay?)"
- Dahlia stretches.
- Engir: "Well, not quite everyone. But yes, I should ready up some tea."
- Pitch raises his hand tiredly.
- Pitch: "Yeah, tea's a lifesaver over here."
- Dahlia: "I can help you with that" she responds to Engir.
- Engir: "Itinerary for today..."
- "Check on the maids, maybe have the consecration lowered, I need to get these ingredients to Hilra, take inventory on the mansion..."
- Dahlia: "With Selani... 'gone'..."
- "Less protection is probably alright."
- Anarod: "Gone?"
- Dahlia: "Ah..."
- "There were some issues last night."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Did she walk out?"
- Engir: "Uh oh."
- Dahlia: "Nalzij... 'Dealt' With them."
- Anarod: "Define 'gone.'"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...Oh."
- Dahlia: "Dust."
- "Well."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: " 'Poof', huh..."
- Anarod: "Ok, that's the correct kind of gone."
- Engir: "Oh, fair enough."
- Dahlia: "Not physical dust."
- "Lorelei, the quiet one, and the catkin seem better adjusted to things though."
- Pitch: "I see..."
- Anarod: "Relatively speaking."
- Engir: "Well, one less pair of fangs is a lot less of a drain on our resources."
- Pitch: "(And less of a drain on me...)"
- Anarod: "Reminder that we're leaving for Broken Top soon."
- Dahlia: "True..."
- Anarod: "How's that even gonna work?"
- Dahlia: "I'm not sure."
- Anarod: "I'm not taking vampires on a field trip to bozo town for sure."
- Engir: "Yeah, we definitely can't take them with us."
- "And I'm not comfortable with them using the refugees."
- Pitch: "We cannot, hm..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'd help keep an eye on them, but..."
- "As is I can't keep an eye on much of anything."
- Anarod: "What we cannot is afford to have them around."
- Pitch: "...I suppose I can volunteer."
- Dahlia: "It shouldn't take too long to help you recover, Melodi... Hopefully, anyway"
- Pitch: "...if you guys are going to broken top, and Melodi's eyes haven't healed by the time you leave..."
- Engir: "Well I certainly don't want to depart today."
- Pitch: "...I could stay and keep things going here, and better me to take the hit of blood loss than anyone else."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "You said something about letting the catkin feed on you, big brother..."
- Anarod: "So that's it, Pitch?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "It's kinda... scary-sounding..."
- Anarod: "That's how you break your retirement to us?"
- Pitch: "I'm not retiring, Anarod."
- Anarod: "Pitch the mercenary is quitting the fighting life because he's gotta babysit two bloodsucking horrors."
- Dahlia: "Could that Delora woman feed one of them?"
- Engir grins.
- Pitch: "...moreso staying with my sister until she's healed and we've found people who will volunteer to be blood banks."
- Anarod: "Gonna sit around instead waiting for them to not die of old age because they're IMMORTAL."
- Engir: "I'll be back in a moment."
- Anarod: "Do you seriously intend to find two clueless people willing to have the life sucked out of them out of their own charitable spirit?"
- Engir wanders down the corridor to Hilra's end of the halls, peering in to check on Ara and leave her a drink.
- Arastalia is still passed out, having made no evident signs of recovery.
- Pitch rubs his head.
- Pitch: "It's worth a try, and we only need one, I suppose, eventually. One of the beast-people can supply the quiet one, I suppose, but the cat lady won't take the blood of her "sisters""
- Anarod: "One of the beast people?!"
- Pitch: "(At least I'm trying to find a solution...)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...Should we talk to one or both of them a little more?"
- Engir: "(Gee, what are we to do about this?)"
- Anarod: "Are you mad? They can't talk, or ake care of themselves properly, and we're just gonna use that to our advantage to let a vampire feed on them?"
- "Do you realize what you're saying?"
- Pitch: "Dude, I'm just trying to think of solutions, I don't see you thinking up any ideas."
- Dahlia: "What about the one that can talk?:
- Engir lingers at the door, putting his hand in his pocket.
- Dahlia: "Her and that knight would be enough."
- Anarod: "I thought we were doing this for their sake, and now you wanna turn them into a freaking buffet?"
- "My idea involves a stake through their cold, dead heart!"
- Dahlia: "Are they truly that much worse than me to you?"
- Anarod: "I mean it's not like one of them already tried something and had to be dusted by Nalzij or anything!"
- Dahlia: "She was... Devious. And power hungry."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Pelani was... the one that spoke a lot, right?"
- "She gave kind of an impression like she LIKED being a vampire."
- Pitch continues to rub his face tiredly, arms on the table
- Pitch: "(I'm not cut out for this in the mornings....)"
- Anarod: "Yeah, you'd know devious and power hungry, huh?"
- Pitch: "(Where's our voice of reason when we need him?)"
- Dahlia bites her lip a little.
- Anarod: "Whatever, y'all try to think of your 'solutions' about this entire mess."
- Dahlia: "I... It's different... I learned what I did was wrong..."
- Engir bites his lip.
- Dahlia: "But the vampire Nalzij took care of wanted to remain one, and to corrupt and harm others."
- Anarod: "No use trying to reason."
- Engir: "How we are meant to sustain two vampires for the long haul is beyond me."
- Anarod: "Because we aren't."
- Engir: "If we had a way to revert them, then fine."
- Dahlia: "Is there some sort of magic that could do it?"
- "Or... What about transmuting animal blood?"
- Engir: "Also, Ara's still in as bad a state as she was before."
- Terita Estion: "...Ah, Engir."
- Pitch: "(That "star" thing might help revert or whatever, not sure why I'd suggest it though, who needs my solutions.)"
- Terita Estion wanders in sleepily.
- Engir: "I have that wand lying around, bu-...ah, Terita?"
- Terita Estion: "You look concerned? Is it Arastalia?"
- Dahlia: "Good morning."
- Pitch rests his head on the table, quietly grumbling to himself.
- Engir: "Yeah, she showed up in the mansion as a Siren, and lured the vampires away. We found her later badly hurt... she's not recovered since."
- Terita Estion: "I wasn't blind during the siren part, you know."
- Engir: "At a glance, I think it's just fatigue from her own actions, but..."
- "Of course, you were there."
- "That night is a haze for me right now."
- Terita Estion: "Fair. Right now I need food."
- Terita Estion heads towards the kitchen, seeing if any food is left.
- Engir: "Is Hilra up?"
- Terita Estion: "She's out at the moment. She headed out in the middle of the night for some ingredient gathering."
- Engir: "Dang, I see. Thanks for the heads up."
- Dahlia peeks around the corner, to see who's approaching.
- Terita Estion: "She usually does that so I don't see much reason in stopping her. She's comfortable at night and there are some plants that only bloom in darkness."
- Dahlia: "Ah! Hello!"
- Terita Estion: "Ah... Dahlia, was it?"
- Dahlia: "Aye."
- "Are you here for breakfast?"
- Pitch looks up briefly at Terita.
- Terita Estion: "If possible."
- "You won't need to worry about Hilra, at least; she packs her own when she goes out."
- Pitch: "(Suppose I may as well move out, find the cleric for Melodi...)"
- Engir draws out Kellan's wand, and tries using it to relieve some of Arastalia's damage.
- Dahlia: "Alright."
- Dahlia heads back to cooking for now.
- The wand glows softly, indicating its magic is being used, but Arastalia remains still.
- Pitch gets up, and heads over to Engir.
- Pitch: "Hey, I'm going to go talk to the Cleric, anything you need me to tell her, or would you like to come along?"
- Engir: "Hmph, was worth a shot."
- "I'm going to meditate with the quill for now, but I might join you later."
- "Mia's help is going to be very appreciated."
- Pitch: "Right, then, I'll be off."
- Engir draws out his quill, and finds space on the bed to sit with it.
- Pitch helps Melodi up.
- Pitch: "Sis, we may as well head over to the manor and talk to Mia, now."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Alright. I hope things go well."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe manages to stand, keeping a hand on the table as she walks to make sure she gets to Pitch's side.
- Pitch: "Me too."
- Pitch guides Melodi out of the guild and over to the Antivus Manor, where he searches for Mia.
- Engir slumps, puzzled on how to resolve Ara's current state.
- Engir: "Right, time for a deeper consultation, I think..."
- Engir pulls out a table and sheet of paper, and enters a deep trance...
- Meanwhile, Pitch brings Melodi into the Estion Estate proper, seeking out the cleric.
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "C-careful, brother, I don't think you realize how difficult stairs are when you can't see them."
- Pitch: "Sorry, sis, but we're here on unstaired floor. Now, just to find that cleric..."
- As Pitch enters the main hall of the estate, he finds the priestess and Antille talking to what looks like a small, fox-eared child.
- Pitch: "Hey, Antille, what's new?"
- Antille: "Oh. Pitch. This is the latest, and how I understand it, last refugee."
- Pitch: "Oh, what's her condition?"
- Priestess Mia: "She's been pretty sad... but I think there's some promise in her."
- Foxkin Child: "Sniff... sniff... mommy..."
- Antille: "Coward of a noble that was with her, too."
- "Panicked when the paladins came for his slaves. Took out the girl's mother. Nearly got her."
- "I'm to understand she's his daughter."
- "Are all humans like this?"
- Pitch: "Only the rich ones, it seems..."
- "...ah, Miss Mia...would it be too much to pull you away for a moment, please?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Nobility... they're disgusting."
- Priestess Mia: "Ah, of course. Antille, if you would?"
- Antille: "What? You can't expect me to know how to deal with kids, let alone..."
- Priestess Mia: "She's a foxkin. You two have that in common, no? You'll think of something."
- Priestess Mia steps aside, and moves closer to Pitch.
- Pitch: "Now, Miss...we have quite a problem..."
- Priestess Mia: "You wouldn't believe how many people said something was 'quite a problem' without going into detail."
- "Usually it's just something minor and easily solved."
- Pitch: "While fighting off the vampire, well..."
- "My sister has been blinded by a light bomb."
- Priestess Mia: "...A... light bomb?"
- Pitch: "And our friend, Arastalia, is seriously injured and lies unconscious in our guild."
- Priestess Mia moves towards Melodi, trying to examine her eyes.
- Priestess Mia: "Well, usually exposure to bright lights doesn't cause blindness for longer than a couple hours."
- "So I'm sure this will be as simple as..."
- "..."
- "This is quite a problem."
- Pitch: "..it is?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe looks worried.
- Priestess Mia: "It seems whatever this 'light bomb' was, it was... extremely potent. She's had an incredibly direct exposure."
- "I cannot do anything today, but tomorrow, I should be able to beseech the Star for the power to help cure it."
- "If it's this bad... it might take a couple tries."
- Pitch: "...I see...so healing would take quite a while...but not impossible to recover, right?"
- Priestess Mia: "The eyes are there, just damaged. That's enough."
- "Unfortunately, miss Melodi, you may have to endure this blindness for a few more days."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "A few DAYS like this?"
- Pitch: "....if it's a few days, I'll do all I can to look after my sister."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm sorry, big brother..."
- Pitch: "It's okay, sis. Whatever it takes to help you."
- "I'm your big brother, it's my duty to take care of you."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "But, please, miss Mia, if it's not too much of a trouble..."
- Priestess Mia: "It's okay. I will do my best to help. Until then, please try your best to keep strong."
- Pitch: "Thank you, very much, Miss Mia, we are in your debt."
- Priestess Mia: "It is all I can do to repay you. Being here, among such vibrant life as these refugees..."
- "It truly feels as if the Star meant for me to be here."
- Pitch: "No problem."
- "...now, sister, shall we head back to the guild?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Alright. I never did get breakfast, after all..."
- "(Or if I did nobody told me...)"
- Pitch: "Ah, oops, you didn't..."
- "Then I'll be sure to make you an extra special Pitch Breakfast!"
- Returning to the guild, Pitch comes across Terita attempting to show the catkin vampire around the kitchen.
- On the opposite end, Lorelei seems to be working on supplies.
- Pitch: "Ah, greetings, Terita, we were about to get my sister some breakfast."
- Catkin Maid: "A perfect chance to let her taste my meowsterpiece! ...But I've never actually cooked before, Mistress Terita is showing me how, meow."
- Catkin Maid looks at the food supplies on the table.
- Catkin Maid: "...This stuff looks delicious but I don't get hungry from it, meow..."
- "I haven't eaten for so long though, meow..."
- Terita Estion: "Ah, right. You eat... um..."
- "Pitch. Didn't you volunteer?"
- Pitch: "...yeah, I did."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...It's okay, big brother, if you're having second thoughts."
- Pitch: "No, no."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I mean, I don't think I'm going to accomplish much today anyways so it's okay for me to give up a little..."
- Pitch: "It's better to be me than you, sis, you've had enough crap thrown your way."
- Catkin Maid: "If you're sure, meow..."
- "I've never fed... directly, before..."
- Pitch: "...I'm sure. Um...do you know how to do it, at least?"
- Catkin Maid: "...it's just like catching mice, right, meow? I think it comes instinctively, meow."
- Pitch: "Well....I guess do your thing."
- Catkin Maid looks down, embarrassed.
- Catkin Maid: "Um... sorry about this, meow..."
- Catkin Maid tries to carefully bite into Pitch's neck to draw blood, but it's pretty clear she doesn't precisely know what she's doing, and accidentally causes a bit more damage than necessary.
- Catkin Maid: "Ah! I'm sorry, meow! I'm sorry!"
- Pitch: "Gyah, it's okay, I've suffered worse wounds."
- Lorelei: "...?"
- Pitch: "Still...had enough for today, miss cat?"
- Lorelei seems to be drawn towards the commotion in the kitchen, forgetting momentarily about her work.
- Catkin Maid: "I... think so, meow. I'll let you know if I'm hungry again?"
- "It... seems to work pretty fast, I feel better already..."
- Pitch: "That'll work for now, miss cat."
- Catkin Maid: "I've been trying to avoid hurting anyone since you volunteered, you see, meow..."
- "So I was getting kind of weak, meow..."
- Terita Estion: "Well, with that newfound concentration, perhaps you would like to return to this?"
- Catkin Maid: "Ah! Yes, meowstress!"
- Lorelei: "...?"
- "...Blood...?"
- Pitch: "(She should probably be given a name..)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "(Mmm... 'Christine' sounds cute.)"
- Pitch: "Yes, miss Maid? I was giving this cat-girl some blood."
- "('Christine' does have a nice ring to it, yeah...)"
- Lorelei: "...Blood...♪"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Oh, geez, I think she smelled your injury or something."
- Pitch: "She's a vampire, it's kinda her food. It's like me smelling the delicious smell of grilled meats..."
- Terita Estion: "I'll take that into consideration if I ever need to get you out of bed or distract a wild owlbear."
- Pitch: "Have you been fed yet, though, miss Maid?"
- Lorelei: "Mistress fed...♪"
- "But... smell... tempting...♪"
- Pitch: "Huh which mistress?"
- Lorelei: "...Nalzij..."
- Pitch: "You call us all either master or Mistress I can't tell"
- "...call me Pitch if you can, it'll help distinguish things."
- Lorelei: "Pi~tch...♪"
- "...taste... please?"
- Pitch furrows his brow and sighs.
- Pitch: "...if you must, I suppose"
- Lorelei reaches over, licking at the blood mess left over on Pitch's neck by the catkin's imperfect bite.
- Lorelei: "...ah..."
- "...Ah...♪"
- Lorelei clings to Pitch's arm!
- Pitch: "Hm? Um...what is it?"
- Lorelei: "...Love...♪"
- Pitch: "Uh...."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "H-huh? Big brother, what's going on?"
- Pitch: "(Thank gods Astrid isn't around right now...)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "(Yeah, only her big sister that would probably kill you if you cheated.)"
- Pitch: "I have a vampire maid clinging to my arm after tasting my blood, I don't know what's going on."
- Lorelei: "...Love...♪"
- Terita Estion: "It seems you have an admirer."
- Pitch: "...and she's not the biggest talker so it's hard to know what she's saying."
- Pitch sighs.
- Pitch: "Do you love my blood, miss Maid?"
- Lorelei nods enthusiastically.
- Lorelei: "...Pitch...love...♪"
- Pitch: "Ah, okay...ph..."
- Terita Estion raises an eyebrow.
- Pitch: "(Oh come on.)"
- "Terita, this has nothing to do with me. All I did was let her taste some of the blood from Miss Cat's imperfect bite and she suddenly started acting like this.."
- Pitch attempts to gently remove the maid from his arm.
- Pitch: "Please remove your hands from me, miss maid."
- Lorelei nods, letting go and backing away.
- Pitch: "Thank you."
- Lorelei: "...Love...♪"
- Pitch: "...and if you could, please don't say that either...people are going to get the wrong idea..."
- Terita Estion: "Oh, don't worry, it seems pretty clear to me that the affections are pretty one-sided here."
- "Still, it looks like she's addicted."
- Pitch: "Phew...so you won't sick Fenrir on me?"
- "(It's bad enough he's a wolf-thing, but he's also freezing cold...)"
- Terita Estion smiles, revealing far more pointy teeth than necessary.
- Pitch very slightly moves back.
- Pitch: "(You're having way too much fun with this...)"
- "...what makes my blood...have this effect, though?"
- Lorelei: "...Pitch...♪"
- "...Blood... amazing...! Delicious...♪"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...Well, you always did say you were proud of your blood..."
- Pitch: "Yeah, but I wasn't expecting to be praised this way"
- "Still....at least she seems happy. You go back to work now, please, miss."
- Terita Estion: "You boast about your blood, and then go and adopt vampires. What did you think was going to happen?"
- Lorelei: "...Master... Pitch..."
- Pitch: "...master Pitch?"
- Lorelei: "You... master... Pitch...♪"
- Pitch: "...yes, and?"
- Lorelei: "...love...you...♪"
- Lorelei turns around and returns to work as if nothing happened, humming to herself.
- Pitch rubs his head, exhausted.
- Pitch: "Can we just all pretend we never heard that...?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I wonder if there's a way I can immortalize it in song."
- "...Relax, big brother, you know my melodies are non-lyrical anyways."
- Pitch breathes a small sigh of relief.
- Terita Estion: "Oh, the woes of being young and popular."
- Terita Estion returns to teach the catkin how to cook.
- Pitch: "Hey, Terita? Now that this cat person works with us...do you think we should give her a name to call her by?"
- Terita Estion: "It would be convenient, wouldn't it?"
- "I asked her about it earlier and she said she didn't have one."
- Pitch: "Then, hmm..."
- "Miss Cat Maid? could you come over here a second?"
- Catkin Maid: "Meow?"
- Pitch: "Would you mind if we gave you a name to call you by?"
- Catkin Maid: "I don't mind, meow."
- Pitch: "It'd make things easier and give you more of an identity"
- Catkin Maid: "I don't have a name, meow. Master didn't give me one, meow."
- "I don't think he used a name for anyone, meow."
- "And the old owners didn't give me one, meow."
- Pitch: "Melody earlier suggested the name "Christine"...does that work out for you?"
- Catkin Maid: "It works fine, meow. Thank you very much for giving me a name, meow."
- Catkin Maid bows politely.
- Pitch bows to Christine.
- Pitch: "Thank you for letting us provide you with one, Christine."
- Christine: "I'll do my best, meow!"
- Christine returns to work, looking more motivated than before.
- Pitch: "(Now, Melodi, while looking after you...we'll probably both miss the trip to broken top, unfortunately. When you're healed up, though, we'll rejoin them after they've cleared up business there. Seem okay?)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I hope they'll be okay..."
- "I wish I could accompany them... it sounds like it'd be fun..."
- Pitch: "I hope so too...without me there, they'll be without some serious muscle...I hope just Nally can suffice."
- "Well, we have whatever incredible adventures await after that, right?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Yeah!"
- Pitch: "After you're rested up too, we can try and make more of a difference here in the city too, while we're waiting!"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "I'm wondering though..."
- Pitch: "Yes?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Lorelei... really liked the taste of your blood?"
- Pitch: "Apparently so.."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "But Christine didn't?"
- Pitch: "Christine seemed pretty indifferent to me...maybe Lorelei's more of a connoisseur?"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "She talks about blood a lot..."
- Pitch: "...if blood connoisseurs exist..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Plus, well, Christine doesn't want to be a vampire, right?"
- "Maybe she just sees... um, feeding... as something that HAS to be done."
- "So she doesn't take any pleasure in it."
- Pitch: "True, just a necessity for being functional."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "But Lorelei said she wants to be a vampire, so... she probably likes feeding."
- Pitch: "(...still, she seemed happy to be given a name, and that's brightened up my day a little, at least..)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe nods.
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "We know Christine's story, and apparently it was Selani's story that got her executed. But I wonder about Lorelei's..."
- Pitch: "Even if one wants to be a vampire, and the other doesn't....they seem to be sincere right now. And I'm willing to give them a chance..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "She doesn't seem all that rational..."
- Pitch: "She seems...quirky, different."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "An outcast among vampires...?"
- Pitch: "Perhaps..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "...We're all outcasts, huh?"
- Pitch: "That we are, a little band of outcasts, fighting for change."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "So she fits right in."
- Pitch: "We're a fun bunch of misfits, though~"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "(And maybe if things with Astrid don't work out...?)"
- Pitch: "(H-huh? What do you..um, mean?)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "(Oh, I don't know...♪)"
- "(Let's just say I don't see much of a future between you and Astrid at the moment.)"
- Pitch: "(Hn...)"
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Geez, it hasn't even been a day and I'm already making 'blind' jokes."
- "I hope this doesn't become a trend, or fate might not let me see again."
- Pitch: "Heh, yeah..."
- Melodi Ryuji Naabe: "Ah well. I'm sure things will go well."
- The siblings continue to have a lively discussion as Pitch helps Melodi with breakfast, as Terita teaches Christine about cooking and Lorelei works while humming.
