It was the year 369 (Summer 2002) and Magic had just been wiped from the lands. The hordes of mages clamored for all to pray and sacrifice to Meraud, the god of magic, in hopes that he would restore magic to the lands. Masses converged to light candles in temples, clean altars, pray at shrines, and partake in other demeaning, grovelling activities. Thinking I would have a nice night of tormenting the now-powerless mages, I set forth to drag candles out of shrines, steal sacrifices, and see what other mischief I could cause. When I arrived at the shrine to Meraud out the Crossing west gate I was disappointed to find only two fervent worshippers and no candles or devotions to mess with. So on a whim and with barely a thought I decided to try something different.....
[Ancient Tower, Open Air Shrine]
The supressive walls below give way to open air on this top level of the tower. Great stone columns steadfastly support a battered and weathered roof which has long since lost its shingles to the elements. The rotted remnants of wooden railings hang limply between columns, having lived out their usefulness years ago. You also see a small rock, a rusty telescope, the statue of a wolf, and a spiraling staircase.

[As an aside, a GameMaster later told me they had to clean that room completely several times throughout the night. And even more recently another GM told me it wasn't just that room but several rooms throughout the temple that had to be cleaned multiple times as well. So what you see above was just a fraction of all that was brought!]
