  1. Xion (Pronounced She-on) is the current Emperor of Rehnauros, a distant country made up of numerous kingdoms far from Arkias and isolated from most known human civilizations. Born to a set of ordinary parents 500 or so years ago, he grew up as a happy and bubbly kid, often making trouble as a means of "fun" though these were nothing more than light jokes such as lightly provoking guardsmen into chasing him or tricking his friends into "trespassing" onto the neighbors property (They'd often entertain the young'uns by fake yelling at them to get going). Being isolated, Rehnauros lacked the same technological advances as the rest of the world and lacked even the slightest hint of monster existence, despite magic being more common there than anywhere else in the world at the time. Xion's happy childhood would eventually come to an abrupt end little after his 14th birthday, where he was attacked by rogue mages from the local magic academy. This attack would end up completely disrupting the balance between his body and SOUL, causing it to begin cracking and him to experience excruciating pain until he would inevitably die from the SOUL fracture. His parents, in a great effort to save him, utilized the entirety of their wealth and savings, hiring an extremely shady mage from the black market. This mage, utilizing knowledge of SOULs that was far beyond anything known to the general populace, saved the boy at the cost of his parents and their SOULs, using them to mend the fracture of Xion's SOUL. The mage would then warn Xion of the power his SOUL now had: The strength of three within one, something that he would come to realize was both a blessing and curse. After this event, Xion would move in with his cousins and attend school with them, however his bubbly personality was replaced entirely with something that analyzed and judged based on facts and lacked any empathy or sympathy. Alongside his personality changing entirely, he would experience chronic magical outbursts, resulting in small SOUL fractures alongside the release of immense magical energy though, these fractures would heal by the time the next outburst happened. By the time he turned 18, Xion was entirely friendless however was content with the knowledge he gained from school and his free time. The mage who had saved his life would later return to Xion, albeit appearing much older despite such a short time passing since their last meeting. During this visit, the mage had given Xion a stone which allowed him to exert the large amounts of magical energy within his SOUL, something that became increasingly necessary as the outbursts grew in both strength and frequency. Continuing his quest for knowledge, Xion would move out from Rehnauros and explore the world for 10 years to learn more before returning. During this 10 year time span, Xion had experienced and observed humans of the rest of the world, achieving an almost bleak and empty outlook on humanity. He would also obtain extensive knowledge on technology as a whole, despite his lack of exposure during his younger years. After his return, he would slowly spread technology throughout Rehnauros in an attempt to modernize the country and, using the influence from this act, became the Emperor's Adviser and spread technology throughout the empire increasingly faster. After reaching his 40th birthday, Xion would receive his last visit from the mage who saved his life. The mage gave Xion one gift: A form of imperfect immortality born from a mixture of magic and science. The mage, having been at the end of his life, revealed to Xion that his survival of the procedure years earlier was purely luck though, he eventually came to believe Xion survived as a part of some great destiny and prophecy. The mage would end up dying soon after the visit, though Xion would never forget his words albeit would never come to take them to heart until much later in life. Possessing this new immortality, his youthful appearance from his early 20s would be rejuvenated in its entirety. He would continue with his role as the Emperor's Adviser until he was 50, where he would end up faking his death in an attempt to shake suspicions that he was performing "Forbidden Arts". Waiting out for 10 years, he would attempt to gain the new Emperor's favor, as the old one had died within the 10 year time period, and became his adviser. Continuing this process with each subsequent emperor, he would cause Rehnauros to grow technologically and scientifically superior to the rest of the world. Roughly 40 years ago, after Rehnauros had finally grown to a certain degree of technological superiority, he would out himself as what the populace dubbed the 'Zero the Immortal Chancellor' and reveal his plans: Judge the rest of the world and, if they failed to match up the standard of Rehnauros' people, systematically erase them from the face of the planet. The populace was initially against this plan wholeheartedly however, came around to the plan once Xion revealed all of the experiences he had obtained many years ago in the outside world. In Rehnauros, where kindness and gentleness was almost genetic, killings and the such was almost too much and, while still not in true belief of the plan, they supported him as he gave the empire the ability to communicate with the outside world. The Emperor at the time passed his position onto Xion, who he believed was much more fit for the position than him. As the years would pass, the people of Rehnauros would come to agree with the plan entirely as their contact with the outside world continued to increase. While not desiring to be murderers, they 'forced' Xion to change the plan to merely subjugation of those countries rather than their outright destruction. Hearing about the barrier breaking 10 years ago, the country entered a short state of panic as they lacked any sign of monster occupation prior to them and the idea of naturally magical entities terrified the general populace while exciting the scientists. Xion, desiring to see these "monsters" himself, made the ultimate decision to head to Arkias himself, alone, while leaving Rehnauros in the care of his trusted advisers, most of which trusted him with their lives while he trusted them with nothing. In the possible he'd be forced into magical combat, something he could not do despite his massive reservoirs of SOUL energy, he had the Imperial Mage Order research and study ways for him to use magic for the past 10 years, in which they would end up performing a successful operation on Xion that granted him a transformation that gave him access to magical attacks as a result this research. (Xion would later get angry at the order for making him appear much 'darker' than the average monster) Armed with this form and various tools, Xion would finally depart for Arkias and, more specifically, Newer Home to 'judge' Monsterkind.
