==Appearance==
Socks Maybe is a long haired cat, possibly a Persian or a Maine Coon. His fur is white, with black spots, although some people swear they are inconsistent. It is theorized the spots may actually just be soot.

Socks is sometimes seen wearing a firefighter hat, most often during and right after he has attended a fire to help put it out. He is more commonly seen wearing a sock on his head in and around the firehouse.

==Before Blaseball==
Socks has lived in Chicago for as long as he can remember. He was a house cat living with a family. His name was not always Socks, but does not talk about his old name. He loved hanging out with the two kids, letting them brush his fur and scratch his ears. He would sleep almost every night on one of the parents laps, next to the fireplace.

This fireplace turned on them in the end, though. The house caught fire one night. The family escaped, all of them were fine, but Socks had gotten trapped. Suddenly, a magical being appeared, which Socks refers to as a “Witch”. This Witch cast a spell on him, allowing him to turn into a human. This human form gave Socks the ability to escape, and he ran out of the house to safety.

When he escaped, he first looked for his family. Seeing them, he began running at them excitedly. But he had forgotten to turn back into a cat! His family was terrified by this stranger running towards them, and they fled.

Socks, confused, didn’t follow them and quickly turned back into a cat. The Firefighters showed up soon after, and Thomas Kirby picked him up and took him home to keep him safe.

After having seen his family's reaction to his human form, he decided to hide it to protect himself from losing even more family.

While living with Kirby, Sock gained his name. Only Sock’s remembers exactly how he got this name, but refuses to share it, and there is dissent in the team about how the name “Sock’s Maybe” became the cats official name.

Soon after, when Thomas Kirby was incinerated, Socks was put up to take his place. It is claimed that Thomas Kirby willed his position to the cat, but all anyone m led for sure is that Socks picked up a Blaseball bat and ran onto the field, cementing his place on the team.

==Human Appearance==
Admittedly very very few beings know what Socks looks like as a human. It’s possible that Socks doesn’t even know what he looks like, that would require having looked in a mirror during one of the rare times he uses his human form.

Socks, in his human form, looks like a thin teenage boy with bright green eyes, white hair (the same as his fur in cat form), and light brown skin. His clothes are always a light t-shirt and jleans-like pants, (it is unknown whether they are the true name-blrand). These clothes just appear when he turns into his human form, and they are not left behind when he turns back into a cat. He has never attempted to remove them from his person before to see what would happen.

==Role In The Firehouse==
As a member of the firefighters, Socks goes on calls to fight fires with the rest of the team. With his small body and fast, he can move through places the others can’t.

Socks is also the “Firehouse Dalmatian”, providing the team with moral support. Many enjoy petting his fluffy back while gloating about how amazing their “dog” is to everyone. Funnily enough, Socks is friends with Lou Roseheart’s dalmatian, Sherry.

==Pass Times==
In true cat fashion, Socks has a few odd hobbies. These include seeing things no one else can, waking everyone up at 2 am by running at full speed through the firehouse, and eating things that definitely aren’t food and then vomiting it up later in a popular walkway in the dark.
He has the much less common hobby of socks. He makes socks (usually knitting), steals socks, decorates socks, wears socks, everything to do with socks. There have been some rumors that Socks got his name after he decorated all of Kirby’s socks. He has been known to give personalized socks to those who have shown him kindness. Some fans claim to have even gotten socks from the dugout between the times Socks went up to bat.
