41. Young Ender Wiggin is recruited by the International Military to lead the fight against the Formics, a genocidal alien race which nearly annihilated the human race in a previous invasion.
42. Ender is a slight fragile teenager with the expanding mind of a genius. His brother, the brute jock, is violent and only sees through strength and brutality. His sister the kind and compassionate one sees only through an affected sense of contact. Ender is a third child in a population overloaded world that is reeling from the previous war with the alien race of insectivorous beings who work and behave like the ants nest, the Formics. Having been brought in to being by loving parents who gained permission for his birth, Ender feels he is not only unwanted but excess baggage to the world. However, his mind is his strength. He is gifted with the ability to become his aggressor and think like his aggressor thus giving him the key to the aggressor as he learns to love them through their frailty - using this to exploit them and thus destroy them. This ability is seen by those old men solidified in their ways, who have no flexibility in their thinking anymore, and exploit Ender to achieve their own ends. But at what cost, and to whom?
43. I have never read the book so that comparison isn't relevant to me and how much I enjoyed watching the movie. On its own I really enjoyed it. Has a strong cast (who all put in good performances), looks great with the style and special effects, love the action which isn't too in your face like most films but is also fun and easy to follow, it has a well written script, it is engaging and has a cracking score. All round full on, likable entertainment that is another good movie for Harrison Ford plus I hope to see more from the lead actor. My only complaint is I would of liked a more satisfying ending though I am guessing they were leaving it that way for a sequel.
44. I like Sci-Fi movies. I like the explosions, action, vehicles, environments etc. I get really hyped up when I see a good trailer for a movie especially with good veteran actors. In this case Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley. The trailer for Ender's Game had all the elements I like. And a kid in middle of all, seemed like a good concept. I am also not a good reader. I wait for Hollywood to make good movies from books so I don't have to read them. I did that with Harry Potter, currently doing with Hunger Games. So I had no idea what the story was going to be, neither the trailer gave much. So, why did I gave this movie 3 rating only? Because, When I went to see this movie blank headed and found out that the movie is just an extension of the trailer. There is no extra explosion, action, etc. Nothing extra that could excite me. The movie turned out to be like one of M. Night Shyamalan, trying to have a big twist in the end. That could have worked also but the climax was also expected. every body in the hall had guessed it, and joking about the poor boy.

Moral: Never go by the trailer. Listen to your friend who is a big movie buff than you are. And the most Important of all, Read books.
45. The movie's apocalyptic finale indicates that it's bitten off considerably more than it can chew in terms of ideas, but it looks good, and the story rattles along.
46. The film storyline may turn out to be a fusion between 'Ender's Game' and its parallel novel 'Ender's Shadow', focusing on the important elements of both. Technically speaking, both books take place at exactly the same time, and they both focus on the same events at the Battle School, but from the points of view of two different characters. a5c7b9f00b
