  1. [16:02:20] This wasn't how it was meant to go at all. She had trained for years and been defeated in minutes. Things that had once been so easy now came with great difficulty. How could she lose so easily...? And in front of Gabriel, whom she had been sworn to protect-- there was nothing she could do when the curtain closed.
  2.
  3. Stumbling backwards to the second wave as soldiers rushed in front of her, there were precious minutes for her to recover while the surge of surviving magi regrouped and prepared to fight.
  4.
  5. Somewhere within that mass she heard a familiar voice... through the gaps in the line Vermin was being dragged away. Everything seemed so disoriented and confused, she could barely righten herself... the sickness of Judas' magic made it that she'd need a short moment to recover. "Red..." she whispered, stepping forward before coughing painfully.
  6.
  7. By the time the pestilence had finally worn off the fighting had picked up again. Shaking her head and rightening herself the mermaid stepped forward, her usual cheer gone as she searched for an opponent.
  8.
  9. ... and there was Amir. A vaguely familiar face from her childhood. She stared over at him for a moment before her head tilted unhappily to the side. "Amir..." she drawled. "You've really picked the wrong side today! Twice now I've failed, but three times buries me in ash! I can't allow it, especially not to a traitor!"
  10. (Melavai)
  11. [16:07:28] He was walking through the desert -- defeating random NPC warriors with his own magic, blasts of wind -- blasts of earth, blasts of water magic. The Sarradian is sure that he'd be able to do what he needed with the Hirano, that was for sure; he would not end in Nostvale, he would not end up in Tilandre, he would end up.. Elsewhere.
  12.
  13. Elsewhere of course, would remain extremely secret for now -- no one needed to know where the Sarradian planned to go. However, the Hirano is soon dropped onto the ground -- left to be unconscious in the sand as he takes notice of the Siren that'd approached him; another bigger battle that'd distract from the soldiers all around them.
  14.
  15. "Malva..", he recalls; the name that he had given to the Siren (because he didn't know how to say her name, oops..). Her.. Oh, a good friend, perhaps -- someone that he hadn't seen in a long time, however. Amir's bracelets are quick to summon forth an ice version of Azrael's Touch -- the former blade of Ninurta. While it was not the same blade, it surely looked like it.
  16.
  17. "Me -- tun a rutoert..", he explains -- Me? Not a traitor, in Sarradian -- despite that, he's quick to try and escape -- blasting the Siren with water magic and wind inbetween; walls of earth magic trying to bar her from chasing.
  18.
  19. Though, all-in-all -- it'd only turn into a battle.
  20. (Amir)
  21. [16:10:01] {combat} Amir has been defeated by Melavai! They're unable to continue fighting.
  22. [16:21:58] Perhaps another day Melavai would have been more sympathetic. But today she had already been defeated and seen Vermin dragged off without being able to do anything about it. Her eyes were alight with fearsome intent and she was determined not to fail a third time so soon.
  23.
  24. Bursting through rock walls her magic extended outwards, assailing Amir with a flurry of her own magics. Another wind mage... it instantly brought memories of Judas back to mind, even though Amir's gusts were far more wholesome.
  25.
  26. "Don't be so obtuse! You're an adult now-- you should know how to speak!" she growled. The mermaid just wasn't happy today. Her naturally loud voice had slipped into irritation rather then peppiness.
  27.
  28. The blood mist that swirled around her seemed to expand, projectiles flying out of it as she chased Amir. It was a long fight...
  29.
  30. "Stay still! I'll finish this all in a single attack!"
  31. (Melavai)
  32. [16:27:56] His magic seems somewhat ineffective -- it was clear that the Sarradian was trying to escape, knowing that he couldn't win -- or rather, he was trying to waste her time; either way, Amir did not want to die today -- there was no way he wanted to die, that was for sure -- another thing being certain, the fact that Melavai was overwhelming him; he couldn't even get close.
  33.
  34. "I am --- I can speak!", he declares; blasting her with more rock as she attempts to jet himself off with wind magic. Oh, he was just going to die at this rate; there was no point with how much more powerful Melavai was.
  35.
  36. "No!", he declares -- continuing to try and flee, though, swinging his own sword; it beginning to expland in shape and mimic the very shape of Rokaros itself. Everytime he slashes at the air, despite attempting to escape -- shards of ice try to fell Melavai.
  37.
  38. "Go away!", he demands! He didn't want to be beaten down.
  39. (Amir)
  40. [16:29:39] {combat} You killed a Water Spirit! (+14325 EXP, +1cr)
  41. [16:31:21] {combat} Melavai has been defeated by Amir! They're unable to continue fighting.
  42. [16:34:46] The bracelets of Elenora begin to activate -- shooting out fire at the Siren, some sort of response given by the Sarradian. He didn't want the girl to attack him anymore -- it was horrid, he knew that she would win. She knew it, even.. Ice magic is continuing to try and stop her, the Sarradian is doing his best to make sure that Melavai cannot defeat him.
  43.
  44. Of course, shooting forth all of his magic -- a wall of earth, encased in ice -- fire magic at the very tip, with wind magic boosting it -- it seemed to do well.. Well, it managed to stop her for a second or two. It was all he needed -- he finally turns to her with Ice Rokaros. Or whatever you'd call it (Rokarice..?), the weapons he'd formed with his bracelets.
  45.
  46. "I said go away.", he demands -- perfect Valmasian, though, the scared voice of the Sarradian is there to fill the tone.
  47.
  48. "Leave me alone!", he demands once more -- sand-storms begin to pick up -- he was refusing to let her defeat him.
  49. (Amir)
  50. [16:39:53] No way was she going to lose to Amir too. Her pride couldn't handle such a thing. Her arrogance barely allowed the victory of the king of Nostvale-- but to this random magi? To this -human-...?
  51.
  52. Buffeted by winds and an unexpected surge of fire, the mermaid gasped and pushed herself back up to her feet. Her spear spun around her and she readied herself, pointing it towards Amir.
  53.
  54. "No! I won't lose to you as well! This is it-- a canvas of blood and tears! Your blood begs to boil!" Her own lacerations seemed to close quickly as she dashed forward, magic coiling around her.
  55. (Melavai)
  56. [16:43:18] {combat} Amir has been defeated by Melavai! They're unable to continue fighting.
  57. [16:47:34] She was victorious, of course she was... but it had taken so much. Long minutes of slow fighting, wearing her opponent down with volleys of blood. It was her newly acquired time magic that really kept her in the game, reversing particularly sudden injuries in the space of a second or two.
  58.
  59. The fight wasn't clean by any means. Wind and sound disoriented her foe as she set forward to assail him at high speed. Blood magic caused wounds that bled for far too long. At long last she managed to defeat Amir.
  60.
  61. Standing over and panting, the mermaid brushed her hair back. It wasn't a victory that restored her confidence. The narrow margin only emphasized the theme of today-- that she had failed.
  62.
  63. "I don't know why you're fighting with Belial, and I don't care..." she drawled. "But now you're my prisoner and I'll trade you for Red! So ha!"
  64. (Melavai)
