Super Mario 64 Online Co-op Runs

Q: What?!?!?! Online?!?!?!?

A: Yes, last week an amazing romhack was made which allows up to 24 people to play SM64 together, and play as various characters including Mario, Luigi, Wario, Yoshi, Peach, Waluigi, Toad, and Rosalina!


Q: How does a Co-op speedrun work?

A: By starting a new file together on the server, we are "linking" our files. This means any stars one person gets, everyone gets it. this includes cap switches, bowser keys, and opening cannons. The only thing we do not share is individual coin counts in a level.


Q: Why play as who you are playing as?

A: We play as Toad, Rosalina, Yoshi, and Waluigi, for various reasons:

	Toad is a speedy guy who can make levels which focus mostly on traveling great distances (BOB and HMC) faster.
    He also has a really fast and out of control wing cap. Robthegamer115 plays as him.

	Rosalina has a sweet spin move that allows her to travel a little extra horizontal distance, making stages that focus on jumping
    better. Lozplyr89 plays as her.

	Waluigi has an amazing double jump, which allows him to do jumps Mario and the others simply could not do. Unfortunately, he's as
    weak as paper, so he can't enter many dangerous levels like LLL. Nachobrado plays as him.

	Yoshi is...broken. he can infinite flutter, which while it does not gain him any vertical height, lets him float anywhere.
    Dracobat10 plays as him.


Q: But why not Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Wario?

A: Mario is just like regular SM64, which is fine, but he's not "broken" like other characters. Luigi is mario, but slippier which is
    not good. Peach is a slightly weaker Rosalina, and Wario is just too slow to be helpful.


Q: What's your goal time?

A: Sub 45 120. Sub 30 70.


Q: How do I do this?!?!?!

A: Download an N64 emulator (project64 is what I use) and an SM64-U rom.
