Stress Test Anon Part 25

>Lulu didn't react to either your nor Sammy's cries, slumping in her seat like a puppet with her strings cut as her eyes remained dark, the only thing keeping her from crumbling to the ground was your quick reaction.
>Gathering her up into your arms you turn to Sammy, "We need to get her to Maryanne as soon as possible," You say, ignoring the chaos around you as you quickly turn on your heel and begin moving towards where you parked the car.
>"Master, what do you think happened?!" Sammy asks in a panic as she races to be by your side. "Has Lulu ever done this before!?"
>"Once before, under similar circumstances," You reply, as you ignore the people trying to rush past you and see what all the sudden commotion is about. "We'd seen some nasty business with a destroyed outmode and... Lulu didn't take it well in the slightest, Maryanne calls it STSS, sudden trauma shutdown syndrome, When a model like Lulu that's undergone significant mental or physical stress encounters a massive amount of it at one time they tend to just shut down."
>You'd only remembered that horrible noise now that you'd had a moment to think of it, and the memory of an android ripped to shreds in an alleyway flashed across your mind as you looked for where you'd parked the car, only for Sammy to take the lead and leave you quickly following behind her as you went to the car and carefully loaded Lulu inside, nodding to Sammy who was already seated inside as you rounded the car to climb in yourself.
>It took all your willpower to not slam your foot on the gas as you drove to Maryanne's your heart thundering in your chest every time your caught Lulu's still form in the corner of your eye.
>After a torturous drive you're running with Lulu in your arms, hoping that Sammy can keep up as you run towards Maryanne's shop as quickly as you can, almost slamming into the door before you thankfully remember that it's a pull to open door.
>Maryanne catches sight of you before you do her, "Hey Prett-" she begins to say, only for the words to die in her throat as she sees the limp Lulu in your arms, turning on her heel and shouting into the Deeper part of the store. "LUCY! I NEED YOU TO MAN THE FRONT DESK!"
>Turning back to you she jerks her head to one of the side rooms of the store, "We're taking her to repair pod D, tell me exactly what happened as we're headed there," the short mechanic commanded as she began walking in that direction. "Is it another bout of STSS?"
>"Yes, we were at the Flying Robin's show and something went wrong," You explain as you follow after her, managing to take a peek over your shoulder to see Sammy rapidly approaching. "They were doing a stunt with an electro-ring when something went wrong and the android doing it exploded, seeing that must have been what set it off."
>Maryanne opened the door and ushered you and Sammy inside before pointing to the Repair pod, "Load her in, I'll get the diagnostic programs running," she commanded as she went to a nearby computer, not looking Sammy's way as she spoke to her. "Sammy, please take a seat anywhere, I should give you a diagnostic overlook once we have Lulu back on her feet, better safe than sorry."
>As you gently lower Lulu into the pod you see Sammy taking a seat, worry incredibly obvious on her face, "She's going to be okay, Sammy," You promise her as soon as you finish placing Lulu into the pod. "Maryanne is one of the best in her field that I know, Lulu couldn't be in better hands."
>"You're goddamn right about that Prettyboy!" Maryanne said in response as she activated the pod, before humming to herself as she overlooked the diagnostics that started streaming into her computer. "Looks like the shutdown didn't badly damage any of her systems this time around thanks to you managing to get her to me so quickly, but it'll still be a minute before hey systems all cycle back to green, and then it'll be about tuning back up all the things this threw out of whack, would you mind going to pick up her backup? Might not need it, but it's better to not need it and have it than to have the opposite, she'll probably still be under by the time you get back."
>You move to exit the room only to see Sammy getting up as well, "You can stay here if you want to, Sammy," You inform her politely with what you hope is a soothing smile. "I'll be there and back in a flash, it'll be like I wasn't even gone.
>Sammy shakes her head in the negative, "It's fine Master, I'd just spend the time fretting over Lulu," she says as she comes to your side. "Besides, I'd like to talk with you about everything that happened, and what we should do..."
>You nod your head, happy to let Sammy come along with you if that's what she wanted, you open the door and let her go through first, and before you know it the two of you are sitting in the car headed for home.
>"Do you think that you'll need her backup?" Sammy asked, worry still apparent in her voice. "I've never actually seen or heard of a backup being used."
>"The last time Lulu had shut down like this we'd had to use one, but it had been a lot worse than this time, I'd had to wait the night before being able to take her to Maryanne," You explain as you pull up to the house and park the car. "Lulu's systems had been severely damaged and a lot of data was lost, it was only thanks to the backup we didn't lose a good chunk of her memories."
>"Sometimes I forget that you've had her so much longer than you've had me," Sammy says, sounding slightly guilty. "She's gone through so much, seen so many horrible things, I just don't know how I can help her."
>"Honestly, you help her more than you could ever possibly know," You reply warmly, patting her on the head. "Helping her come out of her shell and smile more, listening to her and helping her with the things she does every day, you've helped her not have to be lonely when I have to leave her for work, and those her things that I'm one hundred percent sure that we're both so insanely thankful for."
>The smile Sammy gives you in response to that is breathtakingly beautiful, and you make sure to try and give her one back as the two of you enter the house.
>Getting the backup from Lulu's charging station is something you're intimately familiar with, and you quickly stash it in the chest pocket of your vest.
>"What are we going to tell her, about today?" Sammy asks. "Would hearing about what happened to Andre make her have another attack?"
>"We'll be vague about it to avoid stressing her," You reply, already formulating what you're going to say to Lulu when she wakes up in the case that she doesn't require her backup. "We'll tell her that there was an accident at the performance, and leave it at that."
>Sammy nods, agreeing with the logic of your decision as she allows a silence to form while the two of you park once again and swiftly depart the car to reenter Maryanne's.
>The two of you nod to Lucy as you head past the front desk, before heading to repair pod D to see the state Lulu is in.
>Entering the room, you blink at the sight of Maryanne chatting with an awake and aware Lulu.
>"Oh, Sir!" Lulu immediately perks up upon seeing you. "I'm so sorry that I gave you such a horrible fright!"
>Sammy is at Lulu's side in an instant, hugging her fellow maidbot and making her relief at Lulu's wellbeing known in every way that she can.
>"Looks like the backup wasn't necessary this time, Prettyboy," Maryanne says with a relieved shake of her head. "Keep her on a low stress rotation for the next couple of days and she should be perfectly fine."
>"I'm glad," You say, genuinely relieved. "And I'll make sure that she has a stress free week after what happened today!"
>"Good, because otherwise I'm going to kick your ass!" Maryanne replied jovially before turning to Sammy. "Okay, that's enough of that! I need to look you over too!"
>You grin to yourself as Maryanne breaks up Sammy and Lulu's hug, moving to Lulu's side and helping her out of the pod before Sammy gets in.
>"I'm so happy that you're okay," You say as you gently take her hand in yours.
>"I'm just sorry that this had to happen in the first place, Sir," Lulu replied bashfully, her cheek panels lighting up.
>"You have noting to apologize for," You reply resolutely. "Lulu, my sweet thing."
