  1. Personality: Aloof, and his mind tends to wander. The strange comments everyone makes in their heads from time to time like “That would make a great lookout spot.” and “This would make a good weapon in a pinch.” are very common to him and he often says them out loud to himself, sometimes mid-conversation. If he is ever acting uninterested or distracted in a conversation he will still be able to repeat your statements back to you, he’s simply trying to take in 100% of given information at the moment. When he's finally engaged he comes off as very abrasive and a blowhard. As soon as competition or a job is involved he takes everything dead serious, he hates the thought of himself being underestimated or his skill disrespected. He’s one to fall for the old “I bet even you wouldn't be able to-” when allies want to get him to do something. He tends to turn down jobs or requests that can be easily done without him. In a word, he is competitive.

  3. When it comes to jobs Byte does not care about the morals or ethics behind them most of the time. If they pay well and may actually test him then he will accept. It’s not like he’s going to remember anything he actually did anyways. That being said he isn’t completely made of stone, and tasks that are irredeemably evil are avoided.

  5. Bio: Born to a middle-class military family in Virginia. Byte, then Baron Kemp, grew up admiring his father and older brother. When he was 10 years old, His brother joined the US military and only after his first deployment became a war hero. He had saved 16 people over a 12 day period while constantly under heavy fire and surrounded, 8 of those days while wounded. Having been honorably discharged he spent 4 more years retelling the story to his family, friends, and press. Practically reliving the moment in an overwhelming feeling of pride every time.
  6.
  7. One day the hero happened past an armed bank robbery with multiple trapped civilians and drew his own gun in retaliation. Within 15 seconds of entry the hero and 2 civilians lay dead on the floor.
  8.
  9. The following weeks were the most confusing of young Baron’s life. A country who had for years praised his brother now called him an irresponsible fool. Press harassing the family. Harsh bullying at school. One mistake had caused indescribable pain. How could someone so strong have been defeated so swiftly, fallen from grace in mere seconds?
  10.
  11. Baron came to multiple conclusions. During his brothers deployment, he was acting on pure instinct having never been in a life and death situation before. During the robbery, pride and experience brought with it pre-conceptions on how the situation should be approached. The experience was a burden that corrupted his natural strength, not a benefit. In conclusion, if you are strong and capable enough through sheer talent, physical strength, and intellect, any other variable will only hinder you. The perfect idea of strength was someone so naturally capable they would not fail any task, so experience means nothing but negatives to that someone. Could he make himself fit that description? Could being able to reach that idea of strength prove his brother was a victim to his experience, and not the fool others made him out to be?
  12.
  13. Not long after, Baron himself joined the US military to see if he met his own new metric for “strength”. Originally his plan was to induce amnesia on himself and/or let his body and instincts do all the work and try as hard as possible not to take in any experience. Early in his own deployment he had developed a stand, One that allowed him to stay strong fight after fight and maintain 100% efficiency at the cost of his recollections of any events. Having been part of successful mission after mission he had never once been able to recall or report on what had happened. This had earned him the name “Byte” among his peers, poking fun of his “bad memory capacity.”
  14.
  15. Byte was later discharged due to his inability to report important details. Now out of the military, he takes under the table mercenary jobs to maintain his idea of “Strength” in himself.
