  1. Hello!
  2. After a trip, my M.2. started malfunctioning and W10 wouldn't boot all the way (can provide details) and I wanted to get my files off of it before reinstalling Windows, so I discovered that I good get my filed with installing Ubuntu on the USB drive. This is when I joined this IRC channel and met tomr. and while Ubuntu detected my storage HD, it didn't detect my M.2 SSD which has W10 on it. At that point we thought it was broken, tomr ran some tests via Ubuntu terminal and found an "firmware update" for M.2 (which just might fix the original issue of W10 not booting) which only runs on Windows. I gave up and went in the W10 installation where I saw my SSD, populated with files and being able to install W10 on it, this gave me my hope back in regaining my files. Than we discovered that my battery expanded and was a risk to keep so I used my warranty to get a new one, took about 8 days though. Aaand, that's where we are today, I am back in saddle to recover my files. It's just that I am not sure if the issue fits here anymore or ##windows, it's a bit split, depends which route you wanna go...
  3. Thanks for reading!
