- First off, Nobella is a massive world that spans out so far that most people are reluctant to head outside of the three main continent's boundaries. Two of these continents are great islands (referred to as Volarum and Dolarum) with Volarum at the west, and Dolarum the east. Atros is a continent in its own right, and is found between the two main islands.
- While there are several islands throughout the world of Nobella, players hail from the aforementioned three. There are known isles outside of them, but they're mostly inhabited by inhuman races. Discuss with the DM If you really want to play as something other than a human or harpy
- Around 50 years ago, a prince named Kane was orphaned after an assassination claimed the life of his parents. Losing his right to rule, Kane escaped with Princess Cecile to live a life of exile. He originally intended to throw off the corrupt ruler through an uprising of followers...but those plans soon came a bit skewed. After ten years of waiting and gathering resources, Kane and Cecile's warped plans came to fruition: The False Gods were born! With powerful cursed artifacts at their disposal, they easily destroyed a majority of the country with a small militia of magi, and over the course gathered even more followers, elevating into a small army. The organization believed that Kane had ascended to a god through the use of Thaumaturgy, and were promised that they would be ascended BEYOND godhood should their plans succeed.
- Unfortunately Kane's new found lust for power never dwindled, and he eventually set out from his homeland with his followers to seize both Volarum and Dolarum. It took 10 long years before the King of Valmastre, Uriel IV, created an organization known as the Golden Circle. The Golden Circle called to Thaumaturges throughout the land to face against the threat, conscripting a small army of their own to face Kane.
- Both sides suffered horrific losses. After about 10 years of war, Kane was defeated, ushering in a new age that Uriel V(Son of the former King) had called the 'Age of Recovery.'
- This setting takes place 10 years after all of these events. The Age of Recovery has been slow, but countries have been managing to rebuild what they have lost. New alliances have been forged thanks to the war, and everything seems to remain in relative peace, save for the few squabbles between the various countries. (Particularly Razanik, Valmastre, and Fyria.)
