General info:

After every dungeon, if possible pick the highest +strength artifact.
You will also need at least +2 hearts throughout the run (Goblin Wall, Mines of Cathuriges and Veo Lu Sluice are good places for that).

New Game (Multiplayer with GBA as controller)

Character creation:

Pick Merchant as job. (3rd on right)

First event, skip tutorial twice.

Follow red path, kill all blue things.

Proceed to boss afterwards.

Get more meat.

Go straight to the boss.

Go straight to the boss.
(If for some reason you don't have Master's weapon yet, try your luck again)

- Change element to earth, proceed through Maelstrom.

Pay Gurdy if you want to, you should have more than enough gil.

-Take Ferry near Marr's Pass to Kilanda

-- Kilanda -- (Bottom option)

Follow red path.
Make sure to not miss the vase throw at the bridge.
(If you do, unequip Phoenix down, then die and repeat)

BOSS

--- Year 5 ---

Get more meat.

- Go and take a fairy from Tipa's pier to Leuda (Bottom option)

- Leave Leuda, proceed to Lynari Desert.

Collect the 4 abilities at the beginning (Fire, Blizzard, Thunda, Life)
Cast the following on:
A Thunder
B Gravity
C Fire
D Blizzard
E Holy
Needs to be done in this order.
After getting the ??? element, teleport out.

- Head back to Tipa, then go all the way to Veo Lu Sluice.

-- Veo Lu Sluice (2nd) --

Follow the same way as before.
This time, you need to cast Life on the flowers next to the switches that let you get the Gate keys.
Life can be found to the right of B and C (Ice Bomb). Proceed the same way as before.

Head back all the way to the pier next to Marr's pass, take the ferry to the other side of the island, proceed all the way through the maelstrom until you reach the ???

maelstrom.

Follow red path, kill all blue things.
(Green things are optional depending on Masamune drops)

A and B have a chance to drop a Masamune (+5 strength) If you don't have one after you opened both chests, feel free to unequip phoenix down and die, then leave and try again.
Use Holy on the ghost to make them vulnerable after you did your first round of collecting chests.
