You are Mirai, an overworked office lady forced to work overtime tonight. After finishing your final push, you send the final files to your boss’ email and turn off your computer. You sit back and yawn, stretching your joints. After gathering your things, you clock out and start walking home. Bustling masses of bystanders envelop the city streets, so you decide to take a backstreet to save extra time. But while in an alleyway on the way to your apartment, you are stopped by suspicious Shadow figures. They have you surrounded.

“Ugh. I took the back alleys to avoid the trouble of a crowd,” you sigh. “I just clocked out. Do you think we could schedule a meeting for this later?”

A Shadow swipes at you, letting you know they aren’t going to let you pass.

“Guess not,” you mutter to yourself.

Suddenly, a figure appears on the rooftops. It seems to be a samurai in a kimono, wielding a blade. However, the most notable thing about the figure is that its eyes glow a luminescent green in the dark.

“Yo-ho-ho! If there is trouble befalling an innocent bystander,” the mysterious figure exclaims, “I must come to their aid!”

The figure jumps down onto the catwalk of the building above, revealing their metallic body. The robot tosses you an extra sword to defend yourself. You quickly grab it and get into a defensive stance against the Shadows. You hear the call of the robot above you.

“Let us strike together to quell these Shadows!”
