  1. Character A is from a modern family who somehow, they don't know how, appeared in a large feudal village along with their family van.
  2.
  3. They're a pretty large family, with grands, an aunt, a crazy inventor uncle, a cousin, parents, and siblings—two of which are identical twins who do everything together as though they're the same person.
  4.
  5. The ruling empire has technology from modern-day plus some, and some member of the family accidentally offends the crown prince.
  6.
  7. This leads to a witch hunt through the village, so the family takes to hiding among the populace, who is eager to let them, though they know better than to actually go against the empire. Instead of protecting the family, they just ignore the family and act like they have nothing to do with the empire's search, like it's an annoyance.
  8.
  9. In turn, the empire gets more angry at the family as the search continues to yield nothing, but not at the villagers, who remain unprosecuted, except that the empire beings in fucking bulldozers to drive down too-narrow streets in hopes of flushing the family out, while the villagers are free to wander.
  10.
  11. One of the family members, a young adult, is caught in a house that nearly collapses as its front wall is taken out, and he escapes through a window, running to warn the rest.
  12.
  13. He can't find them, so starts to panic, and accidentally runs into view of some empire soldiers.
  14.
  15. They identify him and give chase.
  16.
  17. He dives down into the monster-filled caves to the side of town and tucks and rolls. A couple monsters see him, but pay no attention until they're questioned by soldiers, and give him away.
  18.
  19. He tries to run out the back of the caves, but he's caught and given a choice: cooperate, or they bomb the village, which he's lived in the past five years and gotten attached to.
  20.
  21. What he doesn't expect is that instead of being imprisoned, they force him to swear loyalty and wear their uniform. He has to assist in the search, with the threat of the entire village hanging over his head.
  22.
  23. They call everyone in the village together and enforce it with roving tanks. Everyone comes together, gathered in the center of town, where the emperor is resting his hand on the captured family member's shoulder.
  24.
  25. A soldier hands the captive a pitcher of acid, and the emperor tells him to pour it onto his family, and then he'll let the rest of the family go, and that the empire knows how many members there are of the family.
  26.
  27. So, he pours it on clothes as much as he can to avoid getting it on the flesh of his loved ones, however the twins in unison grab the pitcher from him as he gets to them, stare him in the eye, and dump it onto their shoulders, since they're standing so close to each other, they're almost the same person.
  28.
  29. He takes it back as they start screaming, and has to go back for a refill before he gets to his aunt and grandfather.
  30.
  31. He takes the refilled pitcher, and in grief and sudden thirst brought on by guilt, he drinks most of the contents before he weakly splashes the two he pissed before he collapses, sobbing and gripping his belly.
  32.
  33. The emperor is sated, and medical and building supplies are left as they take the captive member of the family back to their castle, where he's sworn in as a stable hand after his internal injuries are no longer life-threatening.
  34.
  35. A member of the family left behind in the modern world five years ago is found by a princess of the empire, who falls in love with her, and takes her to the place that the empire uses to get its technology into that feudal world—an abandoned warehouse.
  36.
  37. She reveals to her that every being there, once it is there for 45 minutes, is transported. As this happens, a cat is hunting mice, who disappear mid-chase in a tiny, bright flash.
  38.
  39. During this, they're witnessing more war machines going through, and once the sister and princess go through, the sister is welcomed into the emperor's family, oblivious to whose family she's from initially.
  40.
  41. There, she notices how familiar one of the stable hands is, but thinks very little of it, because she thinks the members of her family who disappeared are dead.
  42.
  43. He recognizes her, though, and writes the family about it. They're convinced that she's a second hostage, and start moving in secret.
  44.
  45. They position themselves near key entrances to the castle, keeping their cars, altered by the crazy uncle, hidden. Instead, they let their horses graze, and the mom used hers as a cover to sneak into the stables.
  46.
  47. There, she reunited with her son and told him the plan, but accidentally left her purse, which he noticed and hid inside his pillow.
  48.
  49. The emperor woke to the sounds of vehicles, though, and headed down to the stables to find out what was happening. There, he remembered the newest stablehand was a captive from the family that he'd been hunting for the sake of his son.
  50.
  51. He starts to question him about his family's activities, and he, in terror after what happened before, claims obliviousness, because they aren't allowed to write to him, though he can write to them.
  52.
  53. The emperor doesn't notice the lump from the purse among the young man's things, but does believe him. He decides to give the boy a tour of the castle, and as they're overlooking the front, the empire notices the unfamiliar horses and starts musing about them.
  54.
  55. That's when the boy panics and says "They came for you!" before he pushes the emperor off the wall.
  56.
  57. He survives the fall, but is unconscious, so gets dragged into the back of one of the family's vans, where he wakes being covered in oil and sauce.
  58.
  59. He's confused, and his wife, apparently another missing member of the family (an elder daughter) begs the family for mercy, that it was the sin of their son, not of the father, but the family is bloodthirsty.
  60.
  61. Elsewhere, seers are asked for the location of the missing emperor. They respond "Chickens will eat chicken," to the frustration of the askers.
  62.
  63. The dream goes back to the group, who have set up a table and are eating meat and waffles together. The son is with them now, and the emperor's wife, the princess's girlfriend, and everyone from the family is present. The wife of the emperor is refusing to eat, but everyone else is enjoying the meal, except for the son who had been a stablehand, and who feels guilty about everything.
