Spottedkit leapt toward her brother, Redkit, with a loud playful growl. Redkit squeaked as he was pinned by his sister and the two kits rolled around on the ground outside the nursery in a ball of tortoiseshell and fox red fur. Frostkit watched them from the nursery entrance and then, with a loud meow, leapt out of the den and split the ball of fur into two. Spottedkit leapt to her paws and whirled to face Frostkit, but she had already retreated into the nursery.

"Get out of our camp, you fox heart!" crowed Spottedkit, circling with her brother in the warm sunlight peering down through the forest canopy.  Redkit let out a small, but playful, hiss at his sister.

"Never! Thunderclan camp will be ours!" retorted Redkit. With a yowl, he leapt at Spottedkit, who squealed and quickly put her paws up so that they caught him as she was pushed to the ground. With a squeak of alarm from Redkit, she tossed her brother over her head and rolled to her paws before springing at him  in return.
