  27. Late af in the season but got there. Started at P3 and had a lot of difficulty; partly to learn the deck, but mainly since it’s hard as fuck to predict what’s going on. I don’t know what the fuck those idiots/troll decks do down there. Once I got to Legend and understood the meta, deck ran real easy, literally had a 17-18 game win streak to KoG.
  28.
  29. I own only 1 Hex and 0 Stardust so had to run replacements :FeelsEvilMan: I like Hex being able to SYNCHRO SHOUKAN for Slash, never summoned the Vylon. I can imagine going for Stardust in tourneys, but very rarely thought it would’ve been the best play while climbing, Slash is slightly more important imo.
  30.
  31. Tried KotS for Poly but it bricked for me. Cyclones and Switcheroo give the deck much needed consistency; I think Balance is okay but will inevitably give you a brick you can’t work out of. At least with Switcheroo, if you don’t get OTK’d you have a chance; literally drawing into any part of the combo of Emblem/Blader, Surgery, and Whelp/Destruction Fusion can completely swing the game in your favor.
  32.
  33. I think the monster Destruction Sword cards can possibly work, probably player preference. I could see siding Wizard Buster vs Vamps for instance. But other than running tech cards, I’d say the core of the deck is the following:
  34.
  35. 3 Whelp
  36. 3 Destruction Swordsman Fusion
  37. 3 DNA Surgery
  38. 3 Emblem
  39. 2-3 Cyclones, or other s/t hate cards
  40. 1-2 Blader
  41. 1-2 Fusion subs
  42.
  43. I wouldn’t run 3 Blader, or 3 of any combination of Fusion subs. I think without 3 of each of Whelp or the quick play, you have to run Draw Sense Light, which isn’t as flexible as Switcheroo. The deck is pretty dependent on Whelp, making the Draw Sense viable, but when playing the deck you realize just how amazing Switcheroo is. Cosmic by itself gives you a chance to fix literally any hand. Emblem and Whelp at 3 make it so you can thin the deck, then Switcheroo to get closer to your much needed combo cards. And on the opposite end, if you draw both Blader or all 3 Destruction Fusion’s, you can switch them out for a better card, then search them right back to your hand. Just an awesome and abusable skill for the deck.
  44.
  45. This is a combo deck through and through; you need to draw particular pieces to make the strategy work. Now if you get the Buster Blader Fusion and Surgery, you auto win just about every matchup. But when you don’t have every piece you need, that’s when you need to “play yugioh”, show some skill and make the best plays available to you. Know when to summon Blader from the hand/grave with Whelp and end. Know when to toggle ON with Surgery on field to stop effects from activating with the fusion on field; chaining Surgery to already activated effects does nothing. You don’t have to explode and overextend on turn 1: with proper set up you can set Destruction Fusion and try to play around the opponent’s cards. Utilize your s/t hate and your skill as best as you can.
  46.
  47. Now while that’s plenty of thoughts, altogether games can simplify themselves to getting just what you need, or the opponent just not being very smart on the ladder. And yea, I faced probably 2 dozen Blue-Eyes decks overall which is just an auto win matchup.
  48.
  49. Is this deck good? I’d say so, at least when you learn how it works. Certain hands can be unplayable, and I don’t think this is a safe choice for a tourney. The meta doesn’t really cater to it, unless the player has a thorough understanding of relevant decks and tech cards. I hesitate to say this deck would be at a Tier 4 level, which doesn’t even exist lol. This could be pretty fun for KC Cup, but I’d be shocked if this broke past 25K or so without some grinding, or luckily cucking copious amounts of Blue-Eyes decks.
