- The 4th header on the P870TM1-G has actual power running trough it, and will power a small 5V fan. However, the fan has to be correctly rewired, as the 4-pin header on the motherboard does not use a standart pinout. Meaning, if you plug in a standart 4-pin fan without rewiring, you might short something on your motherboard.
- Header pinout:
- PIN 1 is 5V PWR
- PIN 2 EC (TACH)
- PIN 3 BUS SWITCH
- PIN 4 GROUND
- What you want to do is to leave pins 2 & 3 unterminated, only populating pin 1 and 4 to power the fan. This will make the fan run 100% always. I've been running this mod since mid July 2019 without any issues.

- You can use the link up above to get an idea of what pin is where (for reference black is ground and red is 5V)
- The fan I used to test the concept, temp reduction was 4-5c when compared without the mod.
