  3. The 4th header on the P870TM1-G has actual power running trough it, and will power a small 5V fan. However, the fan has to be correctly rewired, as the 4-pin header on the motherboard does not use a standart pinout. Meaning, if you plug in a standart 4-pin fan without rewiring, you might short something on your motherboard.

  5. Header pinout:
  6. PIN 1 is 5V PWR
  7. PIN 2 EC (TACH)
  8. PIN 3 BUS SWITCH
  9. PIN 4 GROUND

  11. What you want to do is to leave pins 2 & 3 unterminated, only populating pin 1 and 4 to power the fan. This will make the fan run 100% always. I've been running this mod since mid July 2019 without any issues.

  14. You can use the link up above to get an idea of what pin is where (for reference black is ground and red is 5V)

  16. The fan I used to test the concept, temp reduction was 4-5c when compared without the mod.
