  1. [21:36:00] The farther the distance between her and the others, the more faint their words became in volume. She definitely wasn't sad about Thom being fine, but that he hadn't a comment on her wanting to be his father.
  2.
  3. Her parents would never come back for her. Althought it wasn't confirmed, Vivica couldn't help but feel a deep, burning sensation in her heart that maybe Kallistos was telling the truth. She desired for his answer and would have to seek him out.
  4.
  5. She needed to find the man. To call upon him and gain the real answer. That much he could do for her. Asking Thom to be her new father was another strain in her head.
  6.
  7. Asking a man, who didn't intend harm on her, but encouraged her instead, to be her father was painful. She wanted her real parents, but they were dead or off defending Valmasia from evil.
  8.
  9. "Mommy.. Daddy.. I want you to be here with me."
  10.
  11. The child made her way to the dojo alone. She placed her mother's scythe on the ground next to her once again and sat on the bench to hold out her hand with another attempt to perform magic like earlier, but as Thom stated, he wanted her to form a bolt of it.
  12.
  13. Tears streamed down her cheeks, but she didn't make an effort to cry. Pain had to be released somehow and this was her way. Loneliness and tears.
  14.
  15. Vivica's hands cupped before her and she concentrated, but to her failure, a ball of mana formed, almost into a flame before it vanished again. It was angering her that, even though she was new to performing magic, she couldn't get the hang of it right away.
  16.
  17. Vivica's patience was running thin with magic. She'd try again. "Ugh, why is this hard!" It was stressing her out and frustrating her tremendously. Almost a headache task.
  18.
  19. She'd hold her hands out again to perform magic and this time she had succession! A tiny ball of flames, warm as she thought it would be, gently kept above her hands, but the flame died within seconds and disappeared.
  20.
  21. Several more tears from frustration flowed down her cheeks and this time she had given up. Her strained, pained, and hurting thoughts may have had enough for the day and thus she'd make her way back to the White Tower, but would attempt to avoid Thom, Legion, and Fimye.
  22.
  23. Bed time was appropriate for now.
  24. (Vivica)
  25. [21:46:14] He would sit in his office and grumble. Even a twelve year old was married before he had even managed to coax a first kiss from a girl. It was pathetic. He would just sit there and continue to fiddle about with his notes. He wanted a breakthrough. So many things at his disposal! He was drowned in possibilities..." He would begin to set the rat cages one by one.
  26.
  27. Then he began to take the differing materials and other things he had, he would begin to attempt his first real work to revive a living thing. Reanimation. Control. That is what he wanted. It was Lord Azrael's holy art. It was his divine tool. He could not perform Azrael's most divine and perfect will without it.
  28.
  29. He would take full and complete measuremnets of the differing parts and circuitry of different animals, he would see his notes were getting closer and closer to where they needed to be. He was getting close. He was getting there, ever closer.
  30.
  31. He would turn to the girl who had happened in, "Vivica, why are you in my study?" He would look over, with only a twinge of annoyance peering through indifference.
  32. (Legion Hertlend)
  33. [21:53:04] Vivica had gone on to pass by Thom and the others that sat around or neat the entrance to the White Tower. Her intentions were for her room, or whatever room wasn't occupied by a space taker.
  34.
  35. Tired eyes unconsciously glared around the tower. She hadn't the motivation to enter Legion's office without permission, she just happened to appear in there and sit at a table with her head down.
  36.
  37. Tears streamed down the distraught child's cheeks. She was frustrated that performing simple magic was difficult.
  38.
  39. "Sorry, Legion, I'll leave." She voice was raspy and low.
  40.
  41. With a soft sigh, the child lightly gripped on the hilt of her scythe. One hand at the top and another resting along the carved wooden and viney features that decorated it. Turning in her seat, she rose slowly to leave unless stopped.
  42. (Vivica)
  43. [21:56:28] He would begin to hook up all of conquest's blood, perhaps he could use that as well in this little suare, but he would look over at her, "You seem distressed. Sit down here and talk with me I can do this another time..." He would cross his legs and wait, he was like an annoying father who just wanted to get this over with.
  44.
  45. Then he would sigh, and move the chair next to her, "You can tell me. I will try my best to make it better." He was terrible at these kind of things. He knew it.
  46. (Legion Hertlend)
  47. [22:04:09] A chair that had been placed next to her was looked at with a smirk. Despite her exhaustion and plenty amount of crying done in the span of the entire day.
  48.
  49. To sit down and speak with Legion or leave him to do his experimenting? Was it the best idea currently to interrupt the man's work for silly matters he had already been aware of?
  50.
  51. Vivica hesitantly sat down on the chair and looked up to Legion with furrowed brows. She made it quite unmissable of her mood by expression.
  52.
  53. "I'm sad.. and mad. Magic is hard.. and I miss my mommy and daddy.. How will you make it better?" Her tone was flat, but as much as she wanted to cry, she was trying to hold it in. Vivica shook her head.
  54.
  55. Whatever Legion was doing with the blood of Conquest, she glance at it and turn back to him, pointing a finger. "What are you doing?"
  56. (Vivica)
  57. [22:07:34] He would look over at her, "That's not the point. If that's the extent of the problem, I shall have no issue rectifying it, no not at all... but I think you have another one. "What happened with Thom? hm?" He would look at her with a kind of increased curiosity.
  58.
  59. He had wanted to know what those two were going on about before he had decided to pay attention. He would look at her, "If it wasn't anything, fire magic is one of the simplest." HE would take one of the syringes and clean it in the meantime.
  60. (Legion Hertlend)
  61. [22:12:41] Cucco whispers: Watch that woman Legion watch her closely.
  62. [22:12:41] Vivica watched his actions of cleaning syringes and listened to his voice along with the words that were spoken. Nothing much happened between her and Thom, but she expressed her concern for him yet he hadn't anything to say on the matter.
  63.
  64. "Another one? Nothing happened with Thom, Legion." Vivica looked away from him for a moment to hide a saddened expression before correcting it and afcing back to him.
  65.
  66. "I have a hard time.. feeling my magic and.. um.. commence its usage like Thom told me to do." She had remembered that much from it. "He wants me to keep trying, but it's hard."
  67. (Vivica)
  68. [22:13:32] Vivica: ..Huh?
  69. [22:16:57] He would hear the words of the wise chicken, and would turn his attentions back to the girl, "So often the more difficult things in life are the ones that are truly and meaningful worth something." He would ruffle her hair, "But frustration is often the key for the explosive magics such as fire and lightning, so if you continue to fail... you will succeed. Its quite a paradoxical truth." He would smile again at her.
  70.
  71. He would give her a cigarette, "Usually... it is inadvisable for children to use these, but they contain no tar and nicotine. Only the salve I created that allows for easier mana flow, it should let you get an understanding of your mana movements, fluctuations, and other individualities." He would chuckle.
  72. (Legion Hertlend)
  73. [22:25:29] Cucco briefly appeared to warn Legion of the woman and to watch her closesly. Had he been referring to Mika? It was likely, but with the man ruffling her hair, her attention was turned back to him right away.
  74.
  75. Maybe soon she'd have to pay Mika a visit in the cells. Afterall, the woman was kind and... talkative.
  76.
  77. Frustration was how the destructive magics would work their way to come forth. That was somewhat obvious to Vivica. She shook her head as if agreeing to the statement, which she was as well as understanding.
  78.
  79. A.. cigarette was given to her? A brow of hers raised as she gave a yawn. It was an exhausting day. "Uh.. I'll use this.. tomorrow!" Ya, she wasn't going to use it, but she didn't want to hurt his feelings by now using it, even if it may help her.
  80.
  81. "Fire and lightning.. are explosive and destructive! Ya.. I was mad.. it was hard to make fire and feel it like Thom wanted. Fire is warm, so I wanted to feel warm, but I almost had it." She frowned, however Vivica glared at her hands raised before her.
  82.
  83. "I.. almost... had it.."
  84. (Vivica)
  85. [22:32:19] He would look over, "Almost isn't good enough." He would place the cigarette in his own mouth, lighting it with some of his own fire magic, "I guess maybe you're just not cut out for it..." He was clearly antagonizing her now. He would get up and begin to draw the protective coverings about the room. If she did explode, he didn't want to lose anything important.
  86.
  87. He would come back over to her, "You can always do something else... I'm just a bit dissapointed." He would take another seat. He wanted to see the fireworks fly, so he gave one last push, "Maybe you're just not a mage."
  88. (Legion Hertlend)
  89. [22:46:49] 'Almost isn't good enough.'
  90.
  91. A simple phrase, yet to Vivica it held a great deal of meaning. She let him carry on with talking despite how irritated Legion was making her by saying that.
  92.
  93. It might now be something she was cut out for. Her heart sank again as it had several other times today. He had to have been wrong, she was. Vivica rose from her chair and clenched her fists while watching Legion covered everything to, what she assumed, put it away.
  94.
  95. He was disappointed, that cut her deep. This was the first time anyone had been disappointed with the little girl. Vivica began to grit her teeth and furrow her brows angrily.
  96.
  97. "I am too a mage! I can keep trying, it will be good enough! You won't be disappointed!"
  98.
  99. Vivica almost wanted to cry, but instead she felt abundantly irked by the man's words. In desperation, she once again held out her palms towards the cieling. She had attempted to make yet another ball of flames.
  100.
  101. Mana began to swirl and form into a solid sphere before her, but dispursed instead.
  102.
  103. "..." She hadn't the words to say, but this wasn't going to end well. "Legion, I can do it! I'm a mage!" She pleaded to him, but what would his response be now?
  104. (Vivica)
  105. [22:53:39] He would laugh at her a bit as he placed his legs on the table, "For a second there, I almost believed you, but again, so close and yet so far. Only so far that the mundanes could come, don't overwork yourself, you might only hurt yourself." He would continue to smoke the bit from what he had.
  106.
  107. HE would throw it into the air when he was done with it, firing reika to destroy it in the air, "What is it then? Does my use of the arcane bother or irritate you?" He would give another laugh at the man. "I suppose it is quite... daunting." He would pat her head.
  108.
  109. The irritating icing on the cake of frustration.
  110. (Legion Hertlend)
  111. [23:05:36] He almost believed her. Pyromancy was one of Legion's specialty magics and with its use before Vivica, it seemed he was teasing her! He gave her a pat on the head.
  112.
  113. "What?!" The volume of her voice increased with her high rising level of anger.
  114.
  115. "I.. I won't hurt myself!" She glared at him with displeasure by his words.
  116.
  117. She took a step back. Revenge like Thom encouraged. Anger like Legion wanted. Explosive and destructive magics were to be her specialty, but conjuring them would be the difficult part.
  118.
  119. Strong, hateful and pique emotions drove Vivica to burst out with anger. Mana began to form around her body as she held her hands forward again, palms facing the cieling and at full focus.
  120.
  121. Her drive, her willpower, and spirit to conjure just a simple flame ended up with a burst of fire magic in her grasp and flames to shroud around the girls body. A flame much bigger in size than she'd ever created before flared for a moment before dimming smaller and remaining as did the fire around her form.
  122.
  123. Her silver eyes glared into his own discontently. She didn't speak a word to him having been overall displeased, but this helped her to summon what she's been waiting for! Despite that, she'd remain angry at him.
  124. (Vivica)
  125. [23:14:59] He would look at her, creating the blaze. "Well done Vivica. I apologize for my madness and my issue with you, but as a result, I have seen some of your potential. See me tomorrow for your first true test of training." He would give a large smile. This was interesting, to say the least.
  126.
  127. And it warranted further investment, "I certainly do hope you don't pain yourself. Would be quite the loss." HE would whistle off to sleep. Twas a long day.
  128. (Legion Hertlend)
  129. [23:18:24] A first true test of training? At viewing his smile, it calmed her down some albeit the fire around her body remained and the flame above her hands dispelled.
  130.
  131. "True test of training? I'll be ready!" She spoke as he went off whistling to sleep with determination. He had left now and she too would go on to leave.
  132.
  133. Now she had been a lighting and fire magi. Although her lightning had shown little to her and Thom, they were aware it was there.
  134.
  135. It sure the hell had been a long day. Vivica went ahead to locate her room and fall asleep.
  136. (Vivica)
