I liked reading sad stories. When I read sad stories, it’s like… My heart feels just a little bit lighter.

The princess, her servants, the villagers. The honest and the liars… There are no exceptions. Everybody suffers. But no matter what terrible things happen, the story ends under one “The End.”

It isn’t much, but something about that made me feel as if I would be saved.

Kyuubey: To most people, getting to have any wish granted

Kyuubey: Is something worth dedicating their life for.

Nagisa: If it’s that great

Nagisa: Then you should just grant your own wish and become a magical girl.

Kyuubey: We aren’t endowed with unique emotions, so

Kyuubey: That idea is a weakness of ours.

Kyuubey: That’s why we have to work with you humans, and invite you to become magical girls.

Nagisa: Emotions…

Nagisa: So if you have emotions, then you should know what you’d wish for?

She helped an animal in the forest, and then. He found a mysterious lamp, and then. Or… She met the devil. And then… One day, they were suddenly given the chance for their wish to come true.

So, just what wish should they ask to have granted?

A wish, a wish, a wonderful wish. If you’re going to become a magical girl, and if it’s only one, he’ll grant it. If you’ll kill witches, and if it’s only one, he’ll grant it. So what is your wish?

Nagisa: What even is a wish in the first place?

Nagisa: Can it be for anything that I want?

Up until now, I had only ever thought about sad stories. When asked so suddenly what my hopes and wishes were, I simply couldn’t understand that kind of convenience. After all, in my stories, the people who have their wishes granted always became unhappy. I don’t want to become unhappy.

Wishing for it not to go one way. Wishing for it to go one way. If I wish for the opposite of a sad story, will this end as a happy story? I didn’t know.

Nagisa: Even if you explain, I can’t wrap my head around it.

Nagisa: And besides, if I make a wish…

Nagisa: Isn’t that like saying that I’m unhappy with the way things are now?

Kyuubey: As an example, you’re suffering from malnutrition.

Kyuubey: The lights in your house have burnt out, and this room is covered in trash.

Kyuubey: That’s a difficult question…

Nagisa: It doesn’t have to be what you think is best.

Nagisa: You’ve made contracts with a lot of people up until now.

Nagisa: So I think you’ve met other humans who were like me.
