TSW 35: Last Regrets (Mary/Hikari talk)

[7:32 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Time: September 28th, 1988. Location: Layer 4, on site housing(edited)
[7:36 AM] IcePickLobotomy: The new housing is. . . not as nice as your apartment in Tower 2. A dark brown shag carpet with similarly shaded wood paneled walls. The furniture probably dates to the early 70's. And there's also the lack of windows to be had. You have your own room at least, unlike Arina and Robin who're sharing theirs. The kitchen is smaller and you've heard Artyom bang his head on the cabnets more than once over the last day since you've moved in.
[7:36 AM] IcePickLobotomy: 'Vistor for Pilot Robinson." The intercom chimes, the MAGI everpresent here in the base.
[7:37 AM] Scia: "Uh who is it?"
[7:38 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Mori, Hikari."
[7:39 AM] Scia: "Uh please let her in Magi"
[7:40 AM] Scia: stands up and looks her clothes over, short skirt over dark leggings , and a blouse that hides her stretchmarks while meagan was currently running around her legs.
[7:40 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Affirmitive" You hear the lock on the "front door" click open. Hikari steps inside wearing a longer black dress and blouse, she looks pale and you can see she's sporting a rather nasty bruise along the side of her face. Her eyes a rung and it's clear she's not gotten a lot of sleep of late.
[7:41 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Hey Mary," She says in a uncharectistly subdued tone.
[7:44 AM] Scia: "Hey Hikari " she says as she walks to her , and hugs her tightly." Its good to see you."
[7:46 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Yeah," She clings to you tightly "It's been crazy the last few days. Me and mom were getting set up in the temp camps for people who lost their homes. Took me a while to figure out you weren't in them too."
[7:49 AM] Scia: guides her to the bedcouch, and sits down with her , registering who isn't mentioned there, " Yeah , we ended up in here its .. yeah.."
[7:49 AM] Scia: still holds her as she does so.
[7:49 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Meagan clambers onto the couch as well.
[7:50 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Better than the camps at least, we've got a old army tent with another family."
[7:53 AM] Scia: "I would offer you half the couch, but with your mom..."
[7:54 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Yeah. . ."
[7:56 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "My uh, my dad he. . ." Her voice hitches "He died. Engineer you know? Falling asleep around heavy machinery? I uh, guess he didn't suffer at least thought, right?"
[8:03 AM] Scia: "I had feared so as you yeah.."
[8:04 AM] Scia: hugs " I am so sorry for you, and I know that I can not , really do anything to make it stop but if there is anything that I can do I am doing it."
[8:04 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Thank you," She doesn't raise her face from your shoulder "Just wanted to see a friend."
[8:04 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Meagan hugs the girl as well
[8:05 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "And Meagan as well too. Hi Meagan."
[8:08 AM] Scia: pats her shoulder then and just tries to be the rock for her to rest on.
[8:09 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Artyom silently lays a small tray with some sandwitches and a few glasses of water onto the table
[8:16 AM] Scia: She nods at him in thanks as she continues to be there for one of her few remaining friends
[8:17 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "So," She says after about 15 minutes "You hear they're not planning on rebuilding the towers?"
[8:20 AM] Scia: "Not yet, it was mentioned as, what do we do later on, with people simply not knowing what to do there."(edited)
[8:22 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Well they aren't. Guess they don't see much a point in it anymore." She pulls herself away from the hug "Is it true that all the Intruders are gone now?"
[8:22 AM] Scia: "As far as we know, yes , even if they want to have us remain here for a bit longer."
[8:23 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Makes sense. But uh, Mom is going to move back to Japan, move in with my grandparents. I'm going with too."
[8:35 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "We'll prolly be leaving sometime in December. January at the latest."
[8:35 AM] Scia: "Oh..." she says with some shock and needs a moment to deal with that.
[8:40 AM] Scia: "Because she needs you, and you need her right now" she says half questioning , half fatalistic.
[8:40 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "That and legally I'm still a minor, I couldn't stay even if I wanted to."
[8:40 AM] IcePickLobotomy: She winces "Not that I don't want to stay but. . I don't want to leave mom alone."
[8:44 AM] Scia: "I,, yes I can understand that."
[8:50 AM] IcePickLobotomy: ". . . You can come visit though, there's a spare room at my grandparent's house. Should come in the spring, that's when the cherry trees bloom."
[8:53 AM] Scia: "I, would be delighted " she says after a second and hugs her tightly against her full frame fighting her own tears.
[8:53 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Not leaving yet. . . But I'm glad we met."
[9:00 AM] Scia: "I am also glad to have meet you, both, now and , well all the time hikari."
[9:03 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "So, how long do they intend to keep you? I mean if all the Intruders are gone then they don't need you anymore right?"
[9:09 AM] Scia: "They don't know it yet , they fear , they hope and I? I remain here and wait hoping that it all turns out well, that no one gets stupid now that METI has done there work. " She looks down at meagan for a moment.
[9:10 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "You think they might? Dad was always worried about the US or USSR starting something after the Intruders were dealt with, or maybe the EF."
[9:10 AM] Scia: "I hope they do not but ..."
[9:13 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Is METI going to do something you think?" She frowns "They should."
[9:25 AM] Scia: "Well we are not realyl able to act else where there, we do have a cable after all."
[9:26 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Fair enough but it seems kinda pointless that you worked so hard only for everyone else to go throwing it away again." She mutters venomously.
[9:41 AM] Scia: "Well I am thinking the same there But well , I am doing what I can for my family"
[10:06 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "And maybe that's part of the problem, not you but rather if people maybe though of more than just themselves and their immediate family we wouldn't be in this mess." She sighs "My dad told me about the cold war, before the plague, Cuban Missle crisis and everything else, just seems so stupid that we'd go right back to that."
[10:13 AM] Scia: "Aye and well, well , and it sometimes is a bit hart to think about the good in people "
[10:14 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Yeah. Most people have a hard time with that."
[10:14 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Or at least that's how it seems, at least those in power."
[10:18 AM] Scia: "Yess.." She nods after a moment as she debates with herself how to breach a certain topic.
[10:19 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Hikari huffs and settles against the couch to collect her thoughts
[10:21 AM] Scia: puts her arms around her from behind "Well uh.. For something else."
[10:22 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Mm?"
[10:24 AM] Scia: "I uh,.. fuck uhh.."
[10:25 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Uh. . ."
[10:27 AM] Scia: "Okay i , well i got to say something to you because i care for you and I.."
[10:36 AM] IcePickLobotomy: Hikari starts to blush and appears to be at a loss for words(edited)

[10:38 AM] Scia: "Okay, you are a person that I trust, and what I am trying to say here , if the situation gets worse."
[10:40 AM] IcePickLobotomy: She turns and faces you, red-faced. She nods
[10:45 AM] Scia: "So uh, can you look after Meagan, if the things get to bad here?"
[10:46 AM] IcePickLobotomy: ". . . . . . . ." She blinks and giggles nerviously to herself "Yeah of course."
[10:47 AM] Scia: "What where you thinking I was doing?"
[10:57 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "nothing!" She squeaks
[11:02 AM] Scia: "Well uh I uh..."
[11:02 AM] Scia: blushes
[11:09 AM] Scia: "I did not know that you uh.. "
[11:10 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Er I mean, uh. . . well not like . . . I was . . ." She coughs into her fist(edited)

[11:13 AM] Scia: "Uh well , well, that is uh.. something in common then "

[11:17 AM] Scia: "Uh ,, uh.. that other thing was uh.. something that I did not dare uh think.."

[11:21 AM] Scia: "Okay I like you and uh, okay I did not want to say anything because in a way, I am not good at dealing with stuff even if I am well uh not as bad about that as others its just... uh.."
[11:22 AM] Scia: "And as we are on the topic of uncomfortable revelations that I wanted to do..."
[11:25 AM] Scia: "Beyond that confession Uh.. Meagan is not my sister."
[11:25 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Er, wait. . " This too was not what she was expecting
[11:28 AM] Scia: "Okay I am currently acting stupid I know but Uh, well yeah, sometimes I am , so yeah, the little lady over there is my daugther."

[11:30 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Ooohhhh." She nods and gives you a hug "Don't worry, I don't mind that you kept that to yourself."

[11:30 AM] Scia: is speachless
[11:33 AM] Scia: returns the hug after a second.
[11:36 AM] IcePickLobotomy: She says something to herself in Japanese
[11:36 AM] Scia: "Uh?="
[11:37 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Nothing, just talking to myself."
[11:39 AM] Scia: "Stupid gajins are stupid?"
[11:40 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "It doesn't translate well." She sighs "I should probably get going though."(edited)
[11:42 AM] Scia: "Ah fuck, I should have remained silent instead of driving you away
[11:42 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "No, no. It's not that at all."
[11:43 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "My mom wanted me back in time for lunch. And uh. . You didn't drive me away at all, I'm honestly glad to know there's someone else out there who's like me."
[11:47 AM] Scia: "Oh uh I uh.. that is good , I.. if I can do anything or just listen uh yeah.. And I will try to organise something for you two."
[11:48 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Thanks and. . . Maybe if there'd have been more time I'd like to have. . . been more than friends." She blushes "But that's. . . tad late for that I think."
[11:48 AM] Scia: "I , yeah..."
[11:49 AM] Scia: "I do not want to burden you there."
[11:50 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "You're not a burden Mary. I just, I don't think it'd be fair to either of us at this point. . ." She leans over and gives you a chaste kiss on the check. "But I need to go Mary. I'll visit again, promise." She steps off the bed and gives Meagan a quick kiss on the forehead as well "And I'll see you too cutie-pie."
[11:52 AM] Scia: blushes and is about as articulate as her daughter right now.
[11:52 AM] IcePickLobotomy: "Bye Mary." Hikar gives a last wave before she slips out the door.
