  1. Porteus can be installed to a flash drive or hard
  2. drive in several ways.
  3.  
  4. From Windows:
  5. a) copy the contents of the ISO image to your drive
  6. b) navigate to the \boot folder and launch the
  7. 'Porteus-installer-for-Windows.exe' script
  8. c) verify you are installing to the correct drive and press 'Enter' to
  9. complete the installation
  10.  
  11. From any Linux Distribution other than Porteus:
  12. a) copy the contents of the ISO image to your drive
  13. b) navigate to the /boot folder and launch the installer
  14. 'bash Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com'
  15. c) verify you are installing to the correct drive and press 'Enter' to
  16. complete the installation

  18. From Porteus itself (booted from CD):
  19. a) launch 'Porteus Installer' from the desktop menu,
  20. under the 'System' heading (if you are
  21. prompted for the root password, it is toor)
  22. b) plug in your usb drive or select a partition
  23. on a hard drive
  24. c) follow the on-screen instructions
