"Denizens of magic beware! I, the Spectre, have decided that ALL MAGIC IS CORRUPT and must be purged without mercy! Tremble before the judgement of AAAAAAAAAAA!" came the cry over the hill, as a streaking Omega beam carried the Spear of Destiny from a time when it wasn't corrupted and rammed it through the raging spirit. I blinked, wiping off Omega energy from my cheeks. I had a sudden premonition this had been a lot easier than it had any right to be.

"Well, that's a...relief" said Elodie tactfully. Falcons of every natural material and more flew around making sure magical beings in the general vicinity were alright, and indeed they seemed more confused and concussed than say-brutally smote with how quickly the Spectre's rampage had been stopped. "I uh, I guess I'm off to realise my destiny of being an imaginary conduit to Keter. Not gonna lie, I asked Promethea 3 times how her powers work and I'm still confused"

"It's a complete disappointment, yes. At least I've got this to do. Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!" said Grail, who was rhythmically spanking Eclipso with All-Black the Necrosword and turning it into a different weapon with every blow. I'd worried the god-slaying blade wouldn't take well to a wielder who hadn't spent years taming it, but as it turned out the thing got along like a puppy with Grail even when a motherbox was controlling most of her killing instincts.

"You're! The one! Hitting! Me!" screamed Eclipso, who probably hadn't expected the Anti-Life Equation to just be loaned out to his bully and used on him. I pondered how well a mere side effect of a New God's descent had resulted in the legitimite Spectre being rendered helpless by those he had a valid permit to pass judgement on despite being able to throw off the ALE later with a concentrated effort, and wondered how much more vulnerable a rejected Spectre would be to the bogeyman of equationkind.

"On the contrary, petty angel. You brought this on yourself" explained Grail as she viciously shanked him through the kneecaps. The creature was dying very, very slowly and that suited the Necrosword just fine as it got to slurp a lot of blood in the meantime.

"Hey, Detective Chimp's booked us for poker tonight. We coming?" I asked.

"Sure! Let me just call the League and explain the Spectre's going to need support, again, and I'll be along. We should really set up a support team for that poor overworked spirit of vengeance, he hasn't been having a good time of it" said Elodie, as I passed her another good sidekick badge.

"I am the darkness in all hearts! You can never destroy me!" screeched Eclipso, who may have been a little salty that with the Anti-Life Equation Grail had bound all his fragments back into one body, only to also compell it to not fight back.

"i'm taking this with me. It's funny" said Grail.

"NOOOOOOO! I don't deserve this!" cried Eclipso.

"Cool. He totally deserves this" I said, wondering if fairie beer was glamoured and how I could even tell the difference if it was.
