  1. The drink was bitter, but it wasn't foul. Mono was only taking small sips as the warm liquids soothed his stomach. Train had finished his, and he wasn't going to say anything more about that cake. He looked at Spirit, smiling abit.
  2. >Train: ehe, dear. I reckon I got a good idea all of a sudden.
  3. Spirit didn't take her eyes off Mono, making sure he didn't have a sudden moment of illness.
  4. >Spirit: what is it?
  5. >Train: Why not take Mono to the schoolhouse today? I think Bitterroot might be there preparing for tommorow.
  6. >Spirit: .........Dear......it's a sunday. He wouldn't be there.
  7. >Train: Well, maybe not usua....
  8. Mono looked at Spirit, then Train and cut him off with a yawn and a soft sigh "Actually.....Can...Can I take a nap?..I'm...feeling sleepy"
  9. >Spirit: Sweetie? Are you ok?
  10. Mono looked over to her, and smiled his best smile "Yeah yeah, just...sorta tired...please?"
  11. Train leaned over abit and looked at Mono
  12. >Train: ehe, come on son. Don't need to be afraid of atleast going to the schoolhouse
  13. Train gave him a big old smile, but Mono just looked at him, with a deadpan look. "Dad...I'm actually just tired" Mono looked back at his mother for an answer
  14. >Spirit: It's perfectly ok sweetie, go rest your head. I bet you'll feel really great after a nap too!
  15. Mono just nodded, only getting a small smile from his mother's answer. He felt more odd than sleepy, but he WAS sleepy. And was hoping a nap would fix whatever damage the cake may have done to him. He excused himself and made way to his room as his father and mother bid him a good rest. Mono surmised that his father was going to finally tell his mother about the arrival of Celestia's pupil, it could be the only reason his father deduced the teacher would be at the schoolhouse, probably just preparing for that day. However as Mono climbed into bed, he remembered his father saying the teacher's name [Bitterroot......that sounds COMPLETELY pleasent...] and started thinking of the day he fully accepted his parents as his parents. Mono always feels a twist of guilt thinking that, but his old life had literally gone up in flames. And everything he knew was gone. When he came of age, it didn't seem to have caused him to much trouble, and yet he has faint memories as a foal, freaking out and crying at random moments in which he could only guess that his either he needed alot of diaper changes or that's when he first started to actually cope with everything. He thought about how difficult he was with Train and Spirit before about saying the words "I love you". He could call them mom and dad, but those words in particular felt wrong. His old parents weren't "of the year" material, but he couldn't just toss out the good they did for him. And then he thought about when he first said "I love you" to Spirit. He was abit younger, and he had a moment of paranoia in the dead of night of horrid humanly flashbacks. Spirit had entered the room hearing his whines, and had picked him up gently. At this point, Mono had found it difficult to say full sentences, so all he had kept crying about was a fire. Spirit couldn't understand what he meant, but she didn't need to. She cradled him, and had climbed into his bed and held him close. He was crying and babbling. He could feel her warmth, but at the time it felt unfamiliar to him. But it was enough to eventually, along with the crying, to send him off to sleep. In which when he awoke, Spirit was still there. Holding him, still awake, and rubbing him gently across his back. At this point, Mono had never seen such dedication or affection. He felt safer than he had ever been at that moment. And it was at that moment he let go of his pride, and told Spirit "I love you, mom". And from that day, he would still remember the good of his old parents, and would accept his new life with his new parents.
  16. This was his final thought before drifting off into dreamland. In which he dreamt a happy dream. Of ruling Equestria.
  17. After about an hour, Mono awoke and gave out a big yawn. He took the time to look at his legs and hooves, and feel his face before jumping out of bed and looking into a mirror. He felt pretty good, as if the cake never happened. He looked into the mirror and imagined a crown on his head. [ehhh, hehehe. It's never bad to dream sometimes. I mean, it could happen] Mono stretched himself out and went over to his door with a merry little skip [ahh yeah yeah, almost forgot. Mom and dad are probably just waiting for me to pop out so we can go visit......Bitterroot.....I don't even know if that's a guy or a girl].
  18. Mono nudged his door open and stepped into the living area where he found his father, plopped on the couch taking his own nap. Mono took another look around before peering into the kitchen and saw his mother putting some fruit in a basket. "Hey mom, what's up?" he smiled. He couldn't put his hoof on it. But he felt absolutly fantastic. Spirit dropped an apple in the basket and gave him one of her usual pleasent smiles.
  19. >Spirit: My little Mono, how was your nap?
  20. Mono gave a bright grin and laughed "Pretty good!....uhh...much better than dad's I guess anyway. What's up with that?"
  21. >Spirit: Your father seemed to have had the same reaction to the medicine and cake it seems. But that's ok, because I'm going to wake him up and were going down to the schoolhouse. Your father insists Mr.Bitterroot is going to be there.
  22. Mono looked back in the living area for a moment then looked over to Spirit.
  23. "ahhh ha, I guess he told you about the whole thing about tommorow huh?
  24. >Spirit: he did, in which I had to explain to him that he spent a quarter of the day getting that train up and running in the first place. So the train would arrive after tommorow's schoolday...not before. But you know your father, ever the optimistic but never notices things.
  25. Spirit giggled, Mono right along with her. Which was wierd for him, but he didn't seem to care. "haha...hey mom, was dad always like that?"
  26. >Spirit: He was when I met him. Ahh, but sweetie...don't take what I just said as a bad thing. That's actually one of your father's good traits. Most of the time anyway.
  27. "oh, hmmm. Well dad never seems to get upset about things. But...mom...I have to ask. Why does dad seem to get all wierd when you get all....ummm..cool?"
  28. >Spirit: cool?
  29. Mono pointed at her with his hoof with a smile, then did a few hops "You know, when you get all super karate"
  30. Spirit laughed at that, super karate, that struck her as humorous for some reason.
  31. >Spirit: ahahaha...hmmm. Well, it's not so much "Super Karate". It really just, well...you remember how I said I knocked him out in a single blow?
  32. Mono nodded "uh huh"
  33. >Spirit: Well, I did that....alot.
  34. Mono tilted his head, he tried to picture how the hell they got together if this was 'alot'. "Alot? mom, uhhhh...how is he still breathing?"
  35. Spirit giggled again, remembering the times as if they were yesterday. She stepped over to Mono, and brought her head to meet his.
  36. >Spirit: I'll tell you the whole story when you're older Mono, unlessssss~ you want to fight me so you can know right now~ hmmmmm?
  37. Mono gulped [oooohhh no, I will have NONE of that until I get some sort of training or magic thank you.....do we even get magic? or is that purely a unicorn thing?] "ahah...no no...I'm good."
  38. Spirit feigned a dissapointed look then went back to the basket and started counting it's contents.
  39. >Spirit: awww....well, you should wake your father. If nothing else, if he turns out to be wrong we could just go over to one of the hills and have us a nice picnic.
  40. [.....fruit....when did I even start to like fucking fruit?....sometimes I just don't get this "being a pony" thing] Mono nodded to her and walked into the living area, he stared at his sleeping father and began to smile. He looked so peaceful.
  41. Mono slowly inched to his father, and stared at his face. It looked like he was having a pleasent little dream. ["pssst.....dad..."
  42. Train shuffled abit in his sleep
  43. >Train: ahrn..nrn...trains...fix
  44. "Dad....pssst..."
  45. >Train:a....mnn...no...hun...not tonight....trains..fixing need.
  46. Mono snickered and got an idea, and started doing a girly voice as he moved his face close to his. "oohhh but dear, you're so....handsome~"
  47. >Train:...mmnn...ye..yeah?
  48. "mhmmmm~, so much so that I can slam you in the face a million times~ with love of course"
  49. Train's eyes immediatly opened as his eyes met Mono's. But he didn't know that, he was half asleep. And whatever he saw seemed to have scared him to a high degree because Mono had to take a whole jump backwards as his father fell off the couch, clutching his couch pillow tightly. Mono loomed his head over his and smiled "Hey dad! ready to go to the schoolhouse? Me and mom are ready" [don't.....laugh.......oh god...dad...you're such...a....wimp...hahaha] Mono tried to keep his composure as his father came to his senses and then gave Mono a serious look.
  50. >Train: son, was that really at all necessary?
  51. Spirit suddenly walked in from behind Mono and towered over both him and Train, and gave her husband a happy yet sly smile.
  52. >Spirit: Dear, is it necessary that you still react that way?
  53. Train gulped as he slowly stood up, his eyes never leaving spirit's/
  54. >Train: Well you know dear....
  55. Spirit walked past Mono and up to Train's face, touching her nose against his and staring into his eyes...his very soul.
  56. >Spirit:I know it was years ago since that happened dear, and yet you seem to remind yourself of it everyday. If you want, I could show our son our first few meetings on how that happened. Would you like that?
  57. Train stepped back
  58. >Train:...n..no dear...
  59. Spirit sighed and gave him a kiss on his nose, then walked over to his side and gave him a warm nuzzle.
  60. >Spirit: Honey, I know your jittery about it. I understand I was attacking you and your team for two solid months.
  61. Mono's eyes widened [two...TWO MONTHS?! HE GOT CLOBBERED FOR TWO WHOLE MONTHS?!?! GEEZ....n...no wonder he's all PTSD about this shit......]
  62. >Spirit: But that was a long time ago, come on...
  63. Spirit gave his ear a quick nibble, making his face glow red.
  64. >Spirit: if it will make you feel better, we can have a private little tussle when we get home~
  65. Train brushed his right front hoof against his left leg nervously and looked up at Spirit.
  66. >Train: ehe, a tussle huh? don't expect me to go easy on ya~, I just need to get the riiigh....
  67. Spirit cleared her throat and whispered to him
  68. >Spirit: Dear, our son...is right next to us.
  69. Mono was blinking, he knew. His memories made him know what they meant. and he stood there, with the two thoughts. One being how do sentient pony people have sex, and the other thought being him burning images of his parents....doing...things.
  70. >Train: ahh right right, ehehe.
  71. Spirit gave Train a small kiss on his and went over to the front door and gave it a nudge to open it. Mono noticed the small fruit basket had a belt attachment which was harnessed on his mother, he didn't even notice. Sure did look convient for lugging light things though.
  72. >Spirit: now then, shall we?
