[21:06:14] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [03:08:19] <[Mirr]_Adeline> [[After a long trek through the emptiness of Hauterres Adeline finally reaches her goal; a large chunk of the meteoric fireball that annihilated Hauterres. Though it is virtually identical to the majority of the scorched stones of the land, this one is clearly different, larger and virtually alive with energy. Adeline approaches the rock, hesitates for just a moment before laying her hand...
  3. [21:06:14] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [03:08:20] <[Mirr]_Adeline> ...flat against it. A sudden light breeze begins to blow, pushing loose dirt and buffeting the golem with small streaks of ash. As the winds pick up so does the intense emanation from the stone. The strong winds become small gales and a nearby pile of animate rocks falls apart leaving nothing but lifeless stones. Soon the source of the sudden winds becomes known, a tear in the very air...

  5. [21:07:14] * [Mirr]_Adeline stands passively, waiting for something to come of what she has just done
  6. [21:13:50] <[grant]_Achel> What exactly is that... * She stares at the gap in front of her. *
  7. [21:18:09] <[Mirr]_Adeline> [[What steps through the portal, though human in design, is much larger than any man could be. Its skin appears to be almost exclusively grey stone and dark, mossy earth with the occasional precious gem dotting the stony surface of the creature.]]
  8. [21:22:34] <[Mirr]_Adeline> This is a doorway to a home I've not been able to return to, Achel
  9. [21:23:23] * [Multi]_Moneldro sets first one foot, then the other onto Hauterre's barren soil. He straightens himself and looks around. Then, giving notice to the two human figures in front of him, a small smile cracks his features. He reaches down to Adeline, and, nervous to harm her small frame, strokes her head as gently as possible with his index finger.

  11. [21:26:56] <[grant]_Achel> I am Achel, based on what you said you are Eld's father? * She approaches. *
  12. [21:28:00] <[Multi]_Moneldro> You are correct, Achel.
  13. [21:28:21] <[Multi]_Moneldro> My name is Moneldro, a king among my people.
  14. [21:29:05] <[Multi]_Moneldro> It has been...some time since last there was any traffic between my homeland and this one. I am glad that the key has been turned again.
  15. [21:31:40] <[grant]_Achel> If you don't mind me asking, what do you plan to do? I suppose I should be asking Adeline and Eld as well.
  16. [21:34:04] <[Multi]_Moneldro> "Adeline" -- the owner of this body, I suppose? Not the one she originally inhabited, if I recall...
  17. [21:35:41] <[Multi]_Moneldro> As for what I plan to do, it is to make a home here for my people. Our homeland is ridden with savage and dangerous creatures, who resemble us in some ways, but have no intelligence. We seek a more peaceful life.
  18. [21:39:06] <[grant]_Achel> I'm sure that there will be others that live on this world that will oppose your desire no matter your peaceful intentions. What will you do then?
  19. [21:39:52] <[Multi]_Moneldro> Talk. And when that doesn't work, we may have to fight.
  20. [21:41:36] <[Multi]_Moneldro> But hopefully, our presence will not be suffuciently burdensome to anyone to warrant aggression. This land is wide and barren; we should be able to make a home here without disturbing anyone.
  21. [21:42:05] <[grant]_Achel> Hopefully everyone could work together, I'm sure Theodore would like to resolve things peacefully as well.
  22. [21:43:33] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Though it may be under Adeline's control this land is quite capable of defending its people *gestures to the lone, oversized golem standing sentry*
  23. [21:45:05] <[Multi]_Moneldro> What people, Eld? It does not seem that anyone has lived for for many years now.
  24. [21:46:21] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Not currently, but there will be future residents, I am certain of it
  25. [21:47:12] <[grant]_Achel> Do you plan to separate yourself from Adeline and have your own body?
  26. [21:47:50] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I do not believe that will be possible
  27. [21:48:35] <[grant]_Achel> What would the reason behind that be?
  28. [21:52:00] <[Mirr]_Adeline> My body is no more, and I believe that to recover what is truly left of me would cause irreparable damage to Adeline
  29. [21:54:05] <[Multi]_Moneldro> And so we see the first complication already. We cannot inhabit this land without controlling an army.
  30. [21:58:03] <[Multi]_Moneldro> Ultimately, iit becomes a question of whether or not it becomes more profitable to stay here or in our homeland. We will try to make a home here; if the other residents of this world prove more formidable than the creates we already deal with, then we shall return whence we came.
  31. [22:00:25] <[grant]_Achel> This isn't the first person you've shared a body with Eld, what happened to them?
  32. [22:01:10] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I do not believe the troubles here will be as great as you assume. Their ruler appears to be quite capable and has been instrumental in our arrival here. Surely he can be relied upon to assist us in maintaining peace here.
  33. [22:02:22] <[Mirr]_Adeline> My host before Adeline was her father; Laurent. Though my time spent with him was short compared to my time with Adeline
  34. [22:05:17] <[grant]_Achel> That transfer didn't damage him did it? Then you can move to someone else if you wanted.
  35. [22:06:11] <[Mirr]_Adeline> He made no mention of it, but do you see the man before you now?
  36. [22:07:58] <[grant]_Achel> Hmmm... * Thinks about it for a bit. * I suppose there is no real way to tell.
  37. [22:09:25] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I doubt that he was unscathed by what he did
  38. [22:10:28] <[Multi]_Moneldro> This is a matter that we can resolve in due time, with the due parties. It sounds like the ruler you mentioned earlier should be present in determining what fate ultimately befalls you. It would not be prudent to take hasty action.
  39. [22:10:36] <[Multi]_Moneldro> In the meantime...
  40. [22:11:26] <[Multi]_Moneldro> The door is open. I would like to bring through some fraction of the population, that we may begin to inhabit this place. A larger wave of immigration can take place after we have established diplomatic relations.
  41. [22:13:33] <[Mirr]_Adeline> As you wish
  42. [22:15:57] <[Multi]_Moneldro> I imagine you two were here for a reason; is your mission accomplished? Do you have more yet to do?
  43. [22:16:51] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I believe that our task here is concluded in full
  44. [22:18:24] <[Multi]_Moneldro> Then I beleive I will go back, and bring through the forward contingent.
  45. [22:18:37] * [Multi]_Moneldro directs his gaze to Eld, in Adeline's body.
  46. [22:18:53] <[Multi]_Moneldro> It was a brief time, but I was glad to see you again, my daughter.
  47. [22:20:09] <[Mirr]_Adeline> It is good to see you well
  48. [22:20:56] <[Multi]_Moneldro> I must leave you again, but I can now look forward to our next meeting now that the door is open.
  49. [22:21:31] * [Multi]_Moneldro strokes Adeline's fram again with a stony finger. His hand lingers for a moment before he withdraws it and climbs back through the portal.
  50. [22:22:25] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Farewell, father
  51. [22:22:54] <[grant]_Achel> I will protect her until next time.
  52. [22:23:26] * [Multi]_Moneldro gives a small, formal bow.
  53. [22:23:45] <[Multi]_Moneldro> I trust she'll be well in your hands, should her own fail.
  54. [22:24:19] * [Multi]_Moneldro turns his back and walks further into the portal.
  55. [22:26:51] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I believe it is time we return to the others
  56. [22:28:30] <[grant]_Achel> It is probably a good idea to inform the others that we are still alive.
  57. [22:30:14] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Golem, to me
  58. [22:30:44] * [Multi]_Moneldro the armor clanks over to Adeline's side and crouches.
  59. [22:31:42] <[Mirr]_Adeline> You will carry me as you have before and you will follow this woman
  60. [22:33:39] <[grant]_Achel> I didn't see anyone when we left, so I suppose they took my advice and went back to camp. * She begins walking towards the tunnel that they passed through the mountain. *
  61. [22:35:35] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[The golem extends its hand for Adeline to climb into.]]
  62. [22:37:02] * [Mirr]_Adeline retakes her seat in the golems palm
  63. [22:38:09] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[The golem rises and begins to walk after Achel.]]
  64. [23:18:35] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[It takes some hours to walk back; by the time Achel and Adeline reach the tunnel, the sun is already sinking in the sky. The sun us setting when they come out the other end.]]
  65. [23:21:01] * [Mirr]_Adeline seems to have returned mostly to her normal self, but remains silent as she looks around from her seat
  66. [23:49:12] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[When they emerge from the tunnel, Achel and Adeline are greeted with a surprising stillness. The camp seems to be deserted; the only stirring is caused by the wind.]]
  67. [23:53:23] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Hm, I thought there would at least be someone here to question us
  68. [23:59:43] * [Co]_River steps out from her cabin to a firepit outside
  69. [00:01:37] <[Mirr]_Adeline> You didn't leave with everyone else?
  70. [00:02:45] <[Co]_River> No, someone needed to stay here when someone comes looking.
  71. [00:03:20] <[Co]_River> I sent the others away, in case things got troublesome for them.
  72. [00:07:05] <[Mirr]_Adeline> What do you mean? Like one of them panics and does something stupid?
  73. [00:07:40] <[Co]_River> That's one possibility. Nobody knew what would come back out of those mountains, after all.
  74. [00:10:55] <[Mirr]_Adeline> So far the only thing coming out is us and this big thing
  75. [00:11:11] <[Co]_River> Indeed? Who am I speaking to right now?
  76. [00:11:48] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Adeline, who else?
  77. [00:12:51] <[Co]_River> I'm not sure.
  78. [00:13:09] <[Co]_River> What's your plan now?
  79. [00:14:08] <[Mirr]_Adeline> To go home and figure out what Theo thinks of all this. After all, it looks like my family legacy was the real deal
  80. [00:16:39] <[Co]_River> How do you think your inheritance will change the country?
  81. [00:19:00] <[Mirr]_Adeline> It's a standing military, I guess. At the least Hauterres has that
  82. [00:19:35] <[Co]_River> What about citizenry?
  83. [00:23:03] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I'll have to figure that out later, I'm sure my sisters will help in any way they can, too
  84. [00:26:09] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Anything else you want to ask me?
  85. [00:26:40] <[Co]_River> You don't sound very well organized, considering what you now have. Do you really want to administrate?
  86. [00:26:47] * [Co]_River stirs the pot on the fire
  87. [00:29:52] <[Mirr]_Adeline> It's a little new to me
  88. [00:32:03] <[Co]_River> I hope you think about it on your way back then. You're one of us now.
  89. [00:36:43] <[Co]_River> Regardless, I think things will be fine. If you simply have an army.
  90. [00:38:12] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Lets just get back to the palace
  91. [00:39:32] <[Co]_River> You go ahead, I have to wait for the people who I sent for.
  92. [00:39:55] <[Co]_River> It would add to any misunderstandings if they returned to find nobody here.
  93. [00:40:37] <[Mirr]_Adeline> So you expect me to just walk away and leave you here by yourself?

  97. [00:52:11] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I'm worried about you being out here on your own where no one is around to help you if something goes wrong

  101. [00:58:45] <[Mirr]_Adeline> So what if some scavenger or something comes out here? What are you going to do against some band of thieves?
  102. [00:59:05] <[Co]_River> Hide, obviously. It's not difficult.
  103. [01:00:42] <[Co]_River> I'm not going to just stand out in the open. Plus, it should only be a few days. We went away from the palace for a few days before.
  104. [01:05:03] <[Mirr]_Adeline> This isn't the same, there's /no one/ out here! I'm not going to walk away and come back a few days later to find some...beaten corpse!
  105. [01:05:29] <[Co]_River> Ho ho, you underestimate me.
  106. [01:06:32] <[Mirr]_Adeline> No, all it takes is a few seconds for someone to sneak up on you. Bandits don't want a fair fight!
  107. [01:07:06] <[Co]_River> That's if they know where they sneak up on.
  108. [01:07:47] <[Co]_River> Do you know what kind of incident it would cause if a military expedition couldn't find any they were sent to find?
  109. [01:10:26] <[Mirr]_Adeline> I don't care! I'm not letting you stay out here alone!
  110. [01:13:06] <[Co]_River> That's irresponsible. I'm going to retract my support of your administrator-ship if you continue this tantrum.
  111. [01:13:54] <[Co]_River> I sent for forces in case anything... hostile, appeared. I will be the one to meet them.
  112. [01:14:08] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Irresponsible would be leaving you out here by yourself
  113. [01:15:56] <[Co]_River> You are not responsible for my well being anymore. You are responsible for getting your message to Theo.
  114. [01:16:22] <[Co]_River> Honestly, Adeline, I hope you realize these things soon, or else you will make some terrible mistakes with your army.
  115. [01:17:21] * [Mirr]_Adeline pushes herself out of her carriers hand and turns to address it
  116. [01:18:11] <[Mirr]_Adeline> You, go get three other golems and bring them back with you, go quickly
  117. [01:18:39] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Are you going to stay at this camp?
  118. [01:19:17] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[The golem dutifully turns and begins to walk away as quickly as possible, clanking and creaking.]]
  119. [01:20:59] <[Co]_River> Until I decide it is no longer pertinent to stay, yes.
  120. [01:25:43] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Once that golem returns I'll go
  121. [01:27:18] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Why do you want to stay out here anyway?
  122. [01:27:50] <[Co]_River> I already told you. I sent for a force, I will receive it and have them stand down.
  123. [01:33:34] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Fine, but I'm not leaving until I'm sure you'll be safe
  124. [01:35:15] <[Co]_River> Hmph, do you see me as your subject?
  125. [01:38:21] <[Mirr]_Adeline> No, but nothing has officially changed yet. So as of now I'm still supposed to keep you safe.
  126. [01:39:32] <[Co]_River> So you picked up on that part hm?
  127. [01:44:12] <[Mirr]_Adeline> And I don't think I'm "one of you" just because I inherited some empty land
  128. [01:44:30] <[Co]_River> I know, but that's what you'll be in the books.
  129. [01:45:29] <[Co]_River> So in the end, it doesn't even matter
  130. [01:46:27] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Well nothing has changed yet, so I'm still doing my job

[01:55:18] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[While Adeline and River wait for the golem, the sun sinks lower on the horizon until only a sliver of it is left; the sky grows dark opposite the orange blaze that will soon go out entirely. The camp is completely still, but for the rustling of the wind and the women's movements. At long last, a cacophony of clanking is heard, and four golems march up to Adleine in the dwindling light.]]

  133. [02:00:06] <[Mirr]_Adeline> You three are going to stay here and protect this woman, If anyone tries to attack her subdue them. When she tells you to leave then you will return to Hauterres. *turns to River* I hope they don't have to do anything other than go back home
  134. [02:00:33] <[Co]_River> I hope so too, anything else would be inconvenient.
  135. [02:01:07] <[Co]_River> Good luck, Adeline. Hopefully you'll be able to administrate righteously.
  136. [02:02:25] <[Multi]_Moneldro> [[The three golems Adeline indicated move automatically to surround River.]]
  137. [02:03:24] * [Mirr]_Adeline turns back to her original golem
  138. [02:03:38] <[Mirr]_Adeline> Carry me, we're leaving
