In World War II, the German pilots Lieutenant Horst Schopis, Josef Schwartz and Wolfgang Strunk crash their airplane in the wilderness of Norway after shooting down a British airplane. They walk through a snow storm until they reach shelter in an abandoned hunter cabin. Soon the British pilot Captain Charles P. Davenport and the gunner Robert Smith arrive in the cabin and they become prisoners of the German pilots. However, after the initial friction between the enemies, they realize that they should team-up to survive in the wilderness in the beginning of an improbable friendship.
At the beginning of World War II, a hostile chance encounter in the skies above the harsh Norwegian wilderness leaves two aircraft - one British, one German - shot down in a remote and isolated region. By strange coincidence the crews seek shelter in the same cabin. They must battle to survive the brutal winter in order to get back to the war - and to fighting one another. Although war has made them enemies, as the days go by animosity proves hard to maintain. Mutual need leads to unlikely friendships, and the rules of war must be put aside.
This movie is about soldiers from two sides of the war working together to survive the harsh weather conditions of Norway. <br/><br/>This movie is great because it shows that both British and German soldiers are human. One scene in particular really shows their human side. This movie also had some very disturbing thoughts and images, mainly to do with wounds. If your not a fan of those things, it might not be as good to you. <br/><br/>Rupert Grint&#39;s performance was very enjoyable as well as the rest of the cast. <br/><br/>This movie was executed perfectly, only with some minor flaws in the pacing of it.
This movie was one of the biggest surprises of 2013... <br/><br/>When I looked it up I noticed it was very low budget and it didn&#39;t seem to be very interesting. That was the case in the beginning, it was very boring to be honest and you weren&#39;t very interested. But when the movie really got going, things started to get very exciting. The conflicts between the two forces were very enjoyable and I sat glued to my seat to follow every detail. To see these two enemy forces work together for survival made my heart warm. It was a very emotional and beautiful movie all the way to the end and I can recall a tear falling down my cheek once or twice. <br/><br/>Something they have succeeded with splendidly is the characters. Every character in this movie is getting close to your heart and you care about them. The performances from the actors were overall solid and no one were in particularly bad in any way. Some of them stood over the rest though, especially Florian Lukas and Rupert Grint.<br/><br/>For being such a low budget movie it is very good and the beautiful story makes it well worth a 9/10 rating!
