Wondering how AC NX will handle custom designs during runtime. ACNL for 3DS converts the patern data from qr data which is 20 bytes for color data, 512 bytes for pattern data into 4444 format.

AC NX will most likely convert the pattern data to unorm 4444 BNTX. Wonder what the other name will be. Cloth will be an important one, but will it be cloth/pattern, or cloth/cloth or cloth/MyDesign? Hoping for a RAM dump to dig through. The initial data maybe similar to ACNL's 20 bytes for pallate data, and 512 bytes for the actual pattern data.

The NookPhone will gain a design/pattern app at some point.

The standard pattern data is 680 bytes.
1st: 120 bytes has the pattern name, creator/town name, and id.

2nd: 45 bytes for the pallet. Three bytes per color, the last one is alpha. There are 15 colors.

3rd: Pattern data. 512 bytes for a standard pattern. A pro design should be 2 KB for four 512 byte image data. (32x32 image)

4th: Padding, three bytes for standard patterns.
