I made other checks and it seemed like a good idea to buy it (no spam, no penalties, etc.).

I filled it with 10-12 articles, some very long (1500-1800 words) on keywords that do not have high competitiveness. The contents are indexed.

I EXPECTED that in a short time I would rank good, considering that the sites in the top positions have no age and have low authority.

None of this:
1) the articles do not appear on google within the 200 positions
2) there is NO traffic

I can not understand why.
The only explanation I give is that since the site was expired, it "disappeared" from google's radar. I chose not to do any backlinks, to keep the site building natural, but maybe I have to start now?
Did you add your site to google console account? Build few links to your articles to see how they are responding. We need to wait some time to see the results.

Better backlinks to main articles or to home page?
If you are targeting main keywords with your inner pages then plan links to your articles. I also recommend to plan some links to your home page to increase overall domain authority.

this exspired domain , did you look at the wayback website to see what niche or was used for.

according to the rules of making websites of exspired domains the website it self has to follow the same niche as it was to continue benefiting from old stat info.

are you keeping to the rules, if not google will go aginst anythink on that website .

google will only re generate a exspired domain if the website niche is same as the old niche when it exspired.

if you have then it google playing games , the avarage website can take 8 months to re index or index thu the algo.

but new links and new pages well written with articles and good keywords should show within weeks .

There could be many reasons but better allow plenty of time for things to deliver their final verdict. Are all your posts indexed? Is there any penalty on WMT?

Old site was very old style (not CMS but html/css build website).
Now it's with wordpress

exspired domains can save you thousands in cash, it knowing how to re build and re genarate the domain.

go and find a heigh exspired domain in any nich , make sure it a low keyword score from kwfinder and got heigh monthly traffic from adwords and good cpc, know goto wayback website and download the whole old website .

go and edit the first page and point to another page just to see it traffic source any good.

How are you measuring keyword competition?

Even if your expired domain was "reset" somehow (which I don't believe is the case), you should still be able to rank Top 200 in 1 month for a low competition keyword. My guess is something's not right with your strategy - either the keyword selection or the content itself.

I remember one of your other posts was about ranking in a language that's completely different to your domain - this might be the problem.
Expired domain and metrics do not necessarily mean that after purchase it will rank.
No metrics will help you if the quality of the content is low, content length does not make it authority or quality content.
I would rather go for a brand new domain (unless I look particularly for that domain which is expired) and make authority site there.

Create more posts, distribute to social networks and other sites, create organic backlinks, etc.
Few things to check -
1. Did you do any SEO for your articles? PBN’s, guest posts, web 2.0, tier 2, blog comments?
2. Did you check your onsite SEO and website performances?
3. Did u 301 redirect old high authority backlinks to your articles?
4. TAT for expired / deleted domain with good SEO should take 3-6 months, when did u publish your site?
5. Check your content quality and keyword density, meta tags and titles.
In my opinion you need to add some good links in to your site.
Be sure that all articles are indexed, and you need more than 1-2-3 months to get top10.
I will soon post a case study with a very powerful expired domain that was used as a PBN before. That will put a lot of rumors to rest.
Even if we assume that you bought a very clean domain, there is no guarantee that it will rank no matter what metrics are. From my experience its good to add a few short articles targeting some very easy long tail keywords, with almost zero competition, than add some links from forums to these pages. And if you see some results, you can build links to your main articles and to home page.
