<Vigilant_GM> The Sillica's Warden, a transport vessel under a strict charter, navigates through the hellish warp enroute to the Askellian capital of Juno. A modest vessel by all measures, her passenger's chapel is a small and spartan chamber with few devotional depictions beyond the Emperor's ever-watchful Aquila. Fixed on the vessel's hull structure above the altar, it gazes across the chapel,
<Vigilant_GM> staring deep into the souls of His faithful. This evening, one figure kneels before its judgemental gaze, atoning for sins commited in practice and in mind. Standing adjacent to the sinner begging for forgiveness, a spiritual guide to the poor wretch, dressed in long robes, scripture in one hand, censer in another.
<Vigilant_GM> The doors open, a ministorum priest emerging for a moment, before deciding to allow Sister Thesse and Baird to continue uninterrupted.
* Thesse continues the sermon with "Adore the Immortal Emperor, for He is our Protector!"
* Baird remains bowed for the Aquila and repeats after Sister Thesse. "For He is our Protector."
<Thesse> "Admire the Immortal Emperor, for His Sacrifice to Mankind!"
<Baird> "For His Sacrifice to Mankind."
<Thesse> "Exalt the Immortal Emperor, for His Strict Guidance."
<Baird> "For His Strict Guidance."
<Vigilant_GM> The words echo across the chapel, the low humming of the warp engines filling the pauses as though the Aquila were contemplating the sincerity of the sinner's contrition.
<Thesse> "Revere the Immortal Emperor, for His Undying Guard!"
<Baird> "For His Undying Guard."
<Thesse> "Venerate the Immortal Emperor, for His Holy Wisdom!"
<Baird> "For His Holy Wisdom."
<Thesse> "Honour the Immortal Emperor, for His Eternal Strength!"
<Baird> "For His Eternal Strength."
<Thesse> "Glorify the Immortal Emperor
<Thesse> r, for His All-seeing Vision!"
<Baird> "For His All-seeing Vision."

<Baird> "For without Him we are Nothing." Baird crosses his hands and makes the sign of the Aquila at the completion of the prayer.
* Thesse makes the Aquila Blessing and she repeats from the beginning of the sermon.
<Vigilant_GM> This scene repeats itself several days every week, for months on end, the Interrogator seeking redemption and the Emperor's protection for the days to come.
* Karpath spends most of these months inside the Guncuter. Checking over the ship, he discovers what needed repairs will need to be done to bring it to full operation. He notes that it will need new engines, followed by repairing the hull integrity, which will then allow for improvement in the armor and weapons before working on the interior.
<Vigilant_GM> During these long days of warp travel, Velam and Almarax work towards learning all they can about the noble house's ancient and exotic ancestral sword. Their findings confirm the archeotech nature of the weapon, yet more begins to reveal itself to them, down a path of uncertainty and dread. At last, after one of the guided prayer and meditation sessions with Sister Thesse, Interrogator
<Vigilant_GM> Baird arrives to his quarters, outside of which Velam awaits to disclose his findings.
<Velam> "Lord Guljan, the findings between myself and Rax....they are disturbing, sir. I suggest we lock that sword in a stasis field and put it somewhere to be forgotten." When they are in a more private setting Velam discloses the damning details of the sword and it's supposed heretical origins.
* Baird grimaces at the information. "You have the knowledge to cleanse it do you not?"
<Velam> Velam pauses, before wringing his hands nervously. "If you wish it I could attempt to cleanse it. It's probably best to have certain people there for it though. I personally wouldn't suggest it though." He quietly lists a number of reasons both giving examples both from normal and forbidden texts.
* Baird nods. "Enlist the pariah and the confessor to assist you in this endeavor, I will speak with the Captain and make sure the ceremony remains uninterrupted."

<Velam> "Ah...right then, Lord Guljan."
<Vigilant_GM> Chartist-Captain Zoenfeld accepts the pompous nobleman's request for sole usage of the chapel, understanding him to be a particularly pious, or perhaps particularly fearful passenger. For a lengthy 34 hours, the resident minisotrum priests are asked to stand clear while the chapel is utilized for the exorcism of the ancestral blade. For those 34 hours, Velam acts as exorcist, as
<Vigilant_GM> Sister Thesse does what she can to guard his soul. The resilience of the daemon within the weapon remains steadfast, pushing Velam to the absolute limits of his resliience, until he finally collapses with mental, moral, and physical exhaustion.
<Velam> Velam collapses in a whisper of robes as he finally succumbs.
<Vigilant_GM> The failed ritual does more than affect its immediate participants, however, calling upon the warp outside of the voidship's protective hull and gellar field. While attention turns to Velam as he collapses, Nitrous freezes in place.
<Vigilant_GM> His catatonic state is picked up by one of the vessel's junior officers, who cautiously tries to wake him.
<Vigilant_GM> His efforts to no avail, the junior officer calls for assistance. Nitrous is transported to the Surgeon's hall in the passenger deck.
<Vigilant_GM> Shortly afterwards, word is passed to Julian Zimmerman, the noble house's own medicae expert.
* Karpath makes his way to the Surgeon hall upon hearing this.
<Vigilant_GM> "You are Lord Guljian's physician, yes?" a short young man approaches.
<Karpath> "Yes, update me on his status, what can you tell me so far?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Mr. Brand's condition is most peculiar. As far as we can tell, there is nothing physically wrong with him. Does he have any psychiatric history that may explain this? Perhaps a neurological condition?"
<Karpath> "To my knowledge no he doesn't have anything like that."
<Karpath> "Have you done any deeper scans yet?" he ask the young man.
<Vigilant_GM> "His pupils dilate and contract to differences in light, his breathing and circulation remain steady as you can see, and as far as our instruments will allow us, we can say every other readable function is within normal parameters."
<Karpath> "What about his brain, have any scans been taken of that yet? If not I would try there."
<Vigilant_GM> "The Captain has ordered the meal he was consuming to be analyzed by our chymists to check for toxins and the likes. Would he have any enemies?"
<Vigilant_GM> He shakes his head, "We do not have the requisite equipment for that sort of thing."
<Karpath> "Let me contact Lord Guljian and inform him of this. Also if it was poisen then I am assumming you have done the necessary scans for any poison's in his body?"
<Vigilant_GM> "The blood toxins report is not yet ready."
<Karpath> +Lord Guljian, we have a situation in the Surgeon room, its Brand, something has happened to him.+
* Karpath looks at the young man, "What's your name?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Ulfric."
<Baird> +Have the Astropath and the Pariah join you. Some things have transpired and given where we are they may have answers.+
<Karpath> +Understood, Tanzi and Itrev make your way to the Surgeon Room immediately.+
<Karpath> "Ok Ulfric, what time was he found in this state?"
<Vigilant_GM> +Itrev, right. I am on my way.+
<Vigilant_GM> "He was brought in maybe half an hour ago. We reached out to you shortly after his arrival."
<Tony> +I will be over shortly.+
<Karpath> "Ok what other information do you have then on how he was when he was discovered then?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Only that he was found in this catatonic state. Nothing more."
<Karpath> "what about the food he was eating then?"
<Vigilant_GM> "As with the blood toxins report, it is being analyzed."
<Vigilant_GM> The steady steps along the hall anounce Moredcai's arrival.
<Karpath> "Then I am to assume that he had eaten some amount of his meal then?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Yes, that is correct."
<Vigilant_GM> "How may I assist?" Mordecai asks.
<Karpath> "Ah you have made it Itrev."
<Karpath> "We have a problem with Brand, he is in some sort of catatonic state as of right now. This happened as far we can tell within the last half hour to possible hour. Currently we are waiting for result of potential poisoning, but we are unable to do any scans of his brain to see if there could be anything wrong there as nothing is physically wrong from what they have found so far."
<Vigilant_GM> "I see," Mordecai replies, looking over Karpath's shoulder to Nitrous.
<Vigilant_GM> "And what is it you require from me?"
* Tony arrives about 5 minutes since Moredcai arrival
<Vigilant_GM> Mordecai then winces and turns. Tony has indeed arrived at the Surgeon's Hall.
<Karpath> "Well we are in the warp and you are the expert on these kind of things that could happens as well, mainly just a though."
<Tony> "Sorry I took my time I need to grab something that might help. with what happened perhaps."
<Vigilant_GM> "May I approach?"
<Karpath> "Yes, I will say still be careful either way."
<Vigilant_GM> Mordecai comes to Nitrous' side, and looks him over closely.
<Vigilant_GM> Are you in there?
<Karpath> "What did you bring Tanzi?"
<Vigilant_GM> Ulfric turns sharply to Mordecai, then. You realize you "heard" his voice, too.
<Vigilant_GM> "Peculiar," Mordecai turns. "I can't be certain his mind can heard me at all."
* Tony he gestures to the Psyocculum on his head as he flips it on to have a look at Nitrous
<Karpath> "You think he is blocking it out some how?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Or deflecting. It is difficult to say."
* Karpath nods to Tony to do what he needs to do.
* Karpath motions for Mordecai to back off a bit from Nitrous.
<Tony> "Mind if I can have a look Itrev?"
<Vigilant_GM> Mordecai takes a step back, eyeing Tony with disdain.
<Tony> "Thank you"
* Tony takes a look at Nitrious flipping the Psyocculum on
* Nitrous quickly get's up and tries to claw at Tony.
* Nitrous continues to lunge at Tony screaming loudly.
<Tony> *Grabs his lunge as he attempts grapple the sudden assault having trouble with getting a good hold
* Karpath seeing Tony grappling with Nitrous, he charges in with his Narthecium and hits Nituous with a dose of tranq.
<Vigilant_GM> The patient's body slowly loosens its grip, until a loss of consciousness takes effect.
<Vigilant_GM> Behind you, Ulfric stands stiff, with surgical scissors in his hands, pointed outward.
<Karpath> "Strap him down, NOW!"
* Tony tries to help out in strapping him down to the bed
* Karpath begins strapping Niturous down to the table.
<Vigilant_GM> "Some sort of manic episode. The man appears to be losing his mind. We will keep him here, secured, until the end of the voyage," the young surgeon says, putting the scissors away.
<Tony> "That was defiantly not normal, did not get a good look but there is something defiantly there."
<Karpath> "What did you see?"
<Vigilant_GM> "After that, he is your Lord Guljian's responsibility. I would recommend closely guarding him."
* Tony adjusts himself and tries to look at him again with his Psyocculum
<Tony> "Frak"
<Karpath> "How bad?"
<Tony> "Leave this to us sir, we got this under control now."
* Tony he gestures to Ulfric
<Vigilant_GM> "Very well. I will check on the blood toxins report now."
* Tony he gets close to Karpath and whispers to him
<Tony> "Get Lord Guljian and Tabarius if he is up, I will keep watch of him."
<Vigilant_GM> "If what the soulless says is true," Mordecai turns to Karpath, "you have a duty to terminate the host."
* Karpath looks to Mordecai, "If we can save him then we will, if not, the I will do what must be done." he then gets on the coms. +Lord Guljian, I need you and Tabarius to the Medical Ward, we have a situation that requires you both.+
<Vigilant_GM> "So long as Inte--"

* Baird pushes himself up out of the chair in his quarters, taking a final swallow of the Cavessan Amber and set's the empty glass down on the table, setting out for the Medical Ward. +What's the issue Julian? Why are you summoning me?+
* Tony heads to Nitrous and keeps a eye on him waiting at the side of him.
<Karpath> +We will inform you more when you arrive.+
<Vigilant_GM> They suspect daemonic possession.
* Baird rubs the bridge of his nose and dispels the fatigue that had begun to seep in before making his appearance in the Medical Ward.
<Vigilant_GM> Should you wish to rest, Interrogator, we can handle the host's destruction.
<Baird> Host?! I had assumed it was something to do with the warp but nothing to this degree. I'm still on my way but tell the others to put him in a stasis field.
<Vigilant_GM> Mordecai gives a short bow.
<Vigilant_GM> "Place him in a stasis field. In--" he sighs. "Lord Guljian's orders."
<Karpath> "Will do." he then sets out to have Nitrous placed in a stasis field.
* Baird arrives at the Medical Ward, checking on the progress.
* Karpath sets out to Nitrous's room to get his his Stasis cage.
* Karpath within several mins he returns with the Stasis cage from Nitrous room.
* Karpath begins to set up the cage to have Nitrous placed in it.
* Tony walks up to Baird
<Tony> "The Situation is not good in anycase, that thing we did may of had some unforseen fortune, You can see the light yourself if you do not believe what I say."
* Tony Offers the Psyocculum to Baird
* Karpath moves Nitrous into the stasis cage, after making sure he is secured he then turns it on.
* Baird takes the device and places it over his eyes, taking this moment to look at Nitrous and hopefully glean some information as to what lies within.
* Baird Baird sighs and returns the device to Tony, shaking his head.
<Baird> "This isn't what we needed. Set up a rotation. Someone stays with the cage at all times."
<Vigilant_GM> "Ah, Lord Guljian. You arrive just in time," the young physician says returning from his laboratory.
<Baird> "Also. Get with Tabarius once he's rested. Have him teach you, you'll be responsible for ridding Jack of this issue."
<Vigilant_GM> "I am afraid to say that a more specialized facility will be necessary. All chym-analyses reveal no toxins consumed or inherent in your man here. A most peculiar medicae mystery."
<Vigilant_GM> As he realizes Nitrous has been moved into a stasis cage, his face changes.
* Baird turns towards the ship's medicae and raises an eyebrow questionly. "We'll have it analyzed once we are planet side. The capital's facilities should be able to assist with this mystery."
<Vigilant_GM> "Though his outburst was concerning, Lord Guljian, these measures are not necessary. We have straps on the beds," he says raising one and moving it about.
<Baird> Seeing the man react to the stasis cage he adds. "We secured him to prevent any further decline of his health. As you say the facilities here can't provide an adequate answer and so we can neither prevent or cure it."
<Tony> "If that is your will Lord Guljian, I will go to the Confessor for guidance, just it will take me more of my time to look into this matter."
<Tony> "I will be there while I wait for Tabarius."
<Baird> "It is. Don't forget the rotation. I leave it you to coordinate with the others in this."
<Tony> "Understood"
* Tony heads off to find Sister Thesse
* Thesse is currently passed out in her quarters.
* Tony knocks on door
* Thesse gets up and answers the door. She yawns "Hello, Nico."
<Tony> "Do you think you can do a Sermon, for I will need need Deliverance for the rest of this trip
<Thesse> "Of course, Nico! Just one moment while I get dressed."
