- The North Lanarkshire Council budget for 2020/2021 to 2022/2023 includes the following:
- * A 4.84% increase to Council Tax rates
- * An end to lunchtime school crossing patrollers
- * Increasing school meal prices to £3/£3.05 and by an additional 3% per year in subsequent years
- * Review of classroom assistants
- * "Reconfigure" the cleaning service in primary schools
- * Reduction in funding to Citizens Advice Bureau
- * Reduction in Local Development Programme funding (used regularly for new and improved play areas and additional parking provision)
- * Reduction of funding for Culture and Leisure North Lanarkshire services in future years
- * Cessation of festive lights in villages and town centres
- * An increase in burial fees
- * Closure of Palacerigg Visitor Centre
- * An end to annual fireworks displays, with the exception of Strathclyde Country Park
- * Reduction in shrub maintenance
- * "Rationalisation" of grit bins
- * Cessation of grass cutting in areas with a speed limit in excess of 40mph
- * Cessation of floral features
- * Reduction in expenditure on roads
- * Reduction in level of antisocial behaviour service
- * Reduction in level of support for Sheltered Housing
- * Cessation of the care and repair housing service
- * Increase charge for special uplifts from £25 to £35
- * Changes to the secondary school timetable to include one afternoon per week without timetabled classes
- * Changes to Additional Support Needs staffing structures, reduction in placements outwith North Lanarkshire, and review of transportation costs
- * Review extra-curricular music service provision including charging
- * Reduction in the number of schools at present
- * Significant changes to Adult Social Care provision, including introduction of a £3.40 weekly charge for community alarm provision
