- How to setup computer audio and microphone audio on a mac:
- Step 1:
- Download Soundflower and install it, it will require you to restart your computer.
- Soundflower link: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14067/soundflower
- Soundflower is free.
- Step 2:
- Open System Preferences (Under the apple menu in the top left corner)
- Open the “Sound” tab.
- Click on “Outpur” on the top, and under the “Select a device for sound output:” menu, then click on “Soundflower (2ch)”
- Step 3:
- Do a spotlight search (The magnifying glass in the top left, or do the shortcut command, cmd + space) and find an application called “soundflowerbed”
- When you open it, nothing noticeable should happen, don’t worry.
- Step 4:
- Now, on your menu bar at the top, there should be a picture of a flower. Click on this and under “Soundflower (2ch)”, click on “Built-in Output”
- ReOpen this flower menu, and at the bottom, click on “Audio Setup…”
- Step 5:
- When a program called “Audio MIDI Setup” opens, click on the + (plus) button at the bottom.
- It will give you a choice between “Create Aggregate Device” and “Create Multi-Output Device” Click on “Create Aggregate Device”
- On the side, check the “Built-in Microphone” box and the “Soundflower (2ch)” box.
- Step 6:
- Restart your computer.
- When it restarts, open QuickTime Player.
- In the top menu bar, click File > New Screen Recording
- Next to the record button, click on the arrow.
- Now select “Aggregate Device” Or if you renamed it, whatever you renamed it to.
- Now you should be able to Screen record anything, listen to its sounds, and have QuickTime Player record both your system sound and your Mic sound!
