  1. >"Anon..."
  2.
  3. >That's you
  4. >Though you'd really rather be sleeping than be Anon
  5. >Someone with a deathwish pokes your side, making you shift and groan
  6. "Urrrgh..."
  7. >There, see? A groan worthy of a grizzly bear!
  8. >Now they have to leave you a-
  9. >'poke poke poke'
  10. >God is dead
  11. >You open your eyes as slowly as you can get away with, shifting yourself to face your heathen oppressor
  12. >Instead of Satan, you get Sunset Shimmer, dressed up as Spider-Woman, sans mask, crouched up on your desk and giving you a gynecologist's eye view of spider-cameltoe
  13. >You take it back, God isn't dead, cause you've seen Her face
  14. >ImABeliever.mp4
  15.
  16. >Sunset looks guilty about waking you up, even more so when you slowly, carefully raise your head up from crotch height, mostly upright in your chair
  17. "Sunny... wassup?"
  18. >A glance at your phone reads a cold, unfeeling 6:13 AM
  19. >Really testing your faith, God
  20. >"Sorry, sorry, it's just... the storm's ended and as much as I really appreciate everything you've done, I need to get back to my place so I can look decent for school tomorrow"
  21. >At the thought of her leaving, you heart picks up
  22. >You... don't want her to leave
  23. >It's been nice, not being alone, and you don't want to go back to it
  24. >No, it's not just that
  25. >You liked sharing a space with her
  26. >You liked Sunset Shimmer
  27. >And most definitely not as a friend
  28.
  29. >You scramble for a reason for her to stay
  30. >It's selfish, you know, but still...
  31. >That shape that'd been watching the pair of you!
  32. "What about the thing... outside the window! What if it's still out there?"
  33. >Sunset shakes her head
  34. >"My spider-sense hasn't given off so much as a tingle since last night, it should be safe to go out. But if you see anything, call me, okay?"
  35. >Her phone, a simple hing in black, slides from a pocket in her suit and she offers you her lit screne
  36. >Fumbling, you do the same with yours, swapping numbers
  37. >Something something Final Fantasy victory music
  38. >Look, it's early, you can't be clever all the time
  39. >She crawls up your wall, across your ceiling, and to the window, resting dat ass on the sill
  40. >"Thanks, Anon. Get some rest, I'll see you at school, okay?"
  41. "W-Wait!"
  42. >You swallow thickly as she pauses, still as a statue
  43. >Slowly, with the kind of grace that just waking up brings, you stand up and talk over to her
  44. >You're right in front of Sunset, the girl who's saved your live several times now and has the prettiest eyes and fuck you you're just standing there
  45. "You forgot your mask..."
  46. >Her hands go to her uncovered face in surprise as you hold up the mask she'd dropped on your desk
  47. "Don't want anyone else to know, right...?"
  48. >Sunset smiles, embarrassed
  49. >"Thanks Anon. Could, ah, could you put it on for me?"
  50. >Oh god
  51. >That's so lewd
  52.
  53. >With hands as steady as you can manage, you carefully place the silky mask over the top of your head, covering her face inch by inch until you come to her lips
  54. >"Wait..."
  55. >You freeze
  56. >Oh shit, did you fuck up?
  57. >You didn't have it inside out, right?
  58. >Or backwards?
  59. >Or-
  60. >Sunset takes your hands with hers and stands up, angled off the wall, leaning closer to you
  61. >"I meant it when I said that you're a really great guy, Anon"
  62. >She's getting closer
  63. >Shit, what do you do!?
  64. >She's...
  65. >Kissing your cheek
  66. >You don't move, don't even breath as she pulls back, cheeks flushed and smiling
  67. >"See you at school, Anon~"
  68.
  69. >You eventually do once you get to the school doors
  70. >The entire morning had been a haze as you think about.... nothing
  71. >What could you?
  72. >A gorgeous, super-powered girl revealed her secret identity, slept at your place, thought you were great and kissed you
  73. >Your brain couldn't even begin to try rebooting after that
  74. >"Anon!"
  75. >OHFUCK
  76. >THAT wakes you up!
  77. "Sunsetheywhat'sup?!"
  78. >You're a silver tongued devil, you are
  79. >A real heart breaker, just like ma and pa said you'd be
  80. >Hahahahaw sad...
  81. >Still, pretty girl, try talk
  82. >"Wow, are you alright? You look... rough."
  83. >You hadn't slept since she'd left
  84. >You were wearing the same clothes, plus pants, from last night
  85. >Rough was a gentle way of putting it
  86. >You give her a tired smile and brush it off
  87. "Ah, don't worry about it. Did you get home okay?"
  88. >She nods and grin, giving you a punch to the shoulder
  89. >"Yeah, why, you think I can't take care of myself? Come on, Anon, name one fight I've really lost."
  90. "The Fall Formal, the first time the Shocker appeared, that thing with the-"
  91. >Her hand shuts you up, covering your mouth with a nervous giggle
  92. >"Okay, okay, so I've had a few.... setbacks but still! I'm a big girl, Anon, I can-EEK!"
  93. >She jerks her hand away, your lips still puckered absurdly from kissing her palm to get your mouth back
  94. >Yeah, that's totally the only reason why you did that
  95. >Sunset tightens her be-kissed hand into a fist, blushing and glaring at you and your shit-eating grin
  96. "What?"
  97. >Before she can retort, the bell rings, making you both sigh and wave goodbye
  98. >Mental fist pump
  99. >She might actually like you back!
  100. >In fact, external fist pump!
  101. >Everything's coming up Anon
  102. >"Hey, uh, you, got a sec?"
  103. >Fuck you for being an optimist
  104. >It's Flash and his goons; Goon 1 and Goon 2
  105. >The hallway is mostly empty
  106. >Fuckity shit butts
  107. >Butts? Wow, you really must be tired if you can't even swear properly
  108. "What is it, Flash? I'm already going to be late for class."
  109. >He just shrugs, hands in the pockets of his jacket as he looks from Left Goon to Right Goon
  110. >"It's nothing, just... you and Sunset Shimmer have been awfully cozy lately. What's up with that, huh?"
  111. >Oh, here we go
  112. >Sunset and him split, he latches onto Twilight, she leaves, NEW Twilight literally couldn't feel less for him, so now he's just a salty bitch
  113. >You wave your hands to dismiss it (been doing that a lot late, good thing you're practiced with repetitive hand motions)
  114. "It's nothing, she, ah... just felt bad about being a jerk to me before, is all. She's just being friendly."
  115. >Please buy it, please buy it, please...
  116. >He doesn't look like he's buying it
  117. >Okay, time to swallow your pride and demean yourself, maybe that'll please his little ego
  118. "B-Besides, it'd never be what you might think it is. I mean, I'm nobody, yeah? She'll probably forget about me by next week."
  119. >God you hope she doesn't
  120. >Flash gives you a skeptical look, likely leaching the necessary power to see through your lie from his pair of homunculi
  121. >Alas, it's like getting blood from a stone and he fails his perception check, that doubting look sliding into a Grade A douchebag smirk
  122. >"Yeah, guess you're right. See you never, dude"
  123. >Fucking finally, he's gone
  124. >Now you need to book it bef-'RING RING'
  125. >Fuckdammitwhore
  126. >You hate having everyone's eyes on you as you slink to your desk
  127. >Man, it almost makes you wish you were invisible to everyone again
  128. >Ugh, people
  129.
  130. >You'd be a fucking liar if you said you didn't struggle through the day
  131. >Your head drooped, you gazed into the void of the chalkboard, at some points you see Pinky Pie lurking in the edges of your vision
  132. >She's saying something... it sounds like-
  133. >"ANON!"
  134. "NOT THE BELT-oh hey Sunset, what's up?"
  135. >Lunch
  136. >It's lunchtime
  137. >You checked out so hard that you managed to zombie your way to lunch
  138. >You check the tray in front of you to check what food autopilot Anon scavenged together and to avoid Sunset's gaze
  139. >Only muffins...
  140. >Eh, waste not, want not
  141. >"Are you okay? I've been talking to you this whole time and you've just been nodding. I only now noticed how gone you were when I asked you about your family..."
  142. >Wait, she what?
  143. >Fucking
  144. >Evasive maneuvers, captain
  145. >With dignity, grace, and certainty, you cram half a muffin into your mouth and mumble out a half-assed explanation through the treat
  146. >Judging by the crossed arms and the unamused stare she's giving you, it's not working
  147. >Fuck
  148. >You're about to double down and go for the other half of the muffin when she catches your hand and keeps it by the tray, holding tight
  149. >Oh
  150. >You swallow down the muffin in your mouth and sigh, wiping the crumbs off your mouth
  151. "Okay, okay. So, you've probably noticed the whole 'living alone in an apartment thing, right?"
  152. >She nods
  153. "Thought so. You're too smart to let that slip by you."
  154. >"Not sweet talking your way out of this, Anon. Keep talking, please?"
  155. >Well, it was worth a shot
  156. "Right, so... I'm kind of... rich. Like, really, disgustingly rich. At least, my parents are and I get what amounts to their walking around money as an allowance."
  157. >Her jaw drops
  158. >"Wh-B-But your place... it's like nobody even lives there! And it's so small! Why aren't you living in some place..."
  159. "Nicer? Getting to that. Please hold all questions until the end of the presentation, thank you"
  160. >You joke but Sunset looks like she takes it pretty seriously, barring a quirk of her lip
  161. "Anyways, so... my parents and I have never seen eye to eye. Dad especially. Major control freak, basically wanted a mini-him, but everything I did was, well, average. Average grades, average looks, everything. Mom's more... distant. But I guess I kind of prefer the distance, because when I said I wanted to just live my life, dad wanted to cut me out completely. No money, no support, nothing. Mom's the one who convinced him to spare a little cash once a month and just not bother. I don't know why or what it cost her, but I'm not complaining. Yet."
  162. >You pick at a muffin with your free hand idly
  163. "So, uh, there it is. That's the Anon family history."
  164.
  165. >"....."
  166. "Sunse-WOAH!"
  167. >She lunges across the table and pulls you into a hug that you couldn't escape if you wanted to
  168. >You really don't want to
  169. >She holds onto you, leaving you awkwardly patting her back to comfort her
  170. "Um, there there, it's fine. I turned out... mostly okay?"
  171. >That just makes her grip you harder
  172. >Okay, ow, now it's starting to hurt
  173. "S-Sunset, I-"
  174. >"Call me Sunny."
  175. >What?
  176. "U-Uh, okay, Sunny, not that I'm not loving this or anything, because I seriously am, but people are staring and if you really need to hug it out I'm totally available after school"
  177. >"...."
  178. "Sunny...?"
  179. >"Idiot..."
  180. >Sunset slowly pulls back, sniffling and wiping away a tear
  181. >"I can't believe... and I was so horrible to you.. a-and then... how are you still so nice?"
  182. "Hang on, Sunny, look, your bullying is so forgiven that it's not even funny. You've literally saved my life and you've been the best and only friend I've had in a long while. As for the niceness? I guess I just... don't want to be like my parents is all. Always miserable and controlling and greedy... I just... wanted to be me."
  183. >You pick up one of your treats and offer it to her
  184. "Muffin?"
  185. >She takes it with a shaky smile and you, with pinky extended, knock your half-eaten one with hers in a mock toast
  186. "No more tears, okay Sunny?"
  187. >Sunset nods and bumps her muffin against yours (lewd)
  188. "Good. Besides, you're much prettier when you're smiling"
  189. >Her cheeks go scarlet but she doesn't look away, instead answering your cheeky smile by
  190. >By...
  191. >Oh wow
  192. >You'd've never thought someone could make eating a muffin sexy
  193. >Well, only one way to answer that challenge
  194. >You start copying her as best you can, mostly just succeeding in mashing the poor treat against your face
  195. >....
  196. >You snicker
  197. >She giggles
  198. >In moments, you both lose your collective shit like a pair of nutjobs
  199. >You can barely breathe as tears run down your face
  200. >Both your hands press against the table to hold you up, only for your hand to meet hers
  201. >She doesn't pull away
  202. >Neither do you
  203. >Once you both calm down and clean up (using a handkerchief Sunset had) you went back to your food (Sunset shared some of her's, to make sure you weren't more muffin than man by the time lunch ends)
  204. >You also went back to holding hands
  205. >Neither of you mind
  206.
  207. >A familiar haze settles in your mind; a comfortable, stunned silence that muffles the world around you, even as the lunch bell rings and students leave
  208. >You barely register Flash's glare
  209. >You almost break your grip as Sunset and you pass by her friends, but she doesn't let you, instead giving the Girls a smile, a nods and a wave, tugging you along like a too-tired puppy
  210. >Heh, puppy love
  211. >Finally, you're forced to part as she flashes you a smile as glowing as her blush and you return with a dopey wave
  212. >You could not have learned less in your classes as the day ends
  213. >It doesn't matter
  214. >After your last class, you get a text from Sunny
  215. >"Stay after the last bus leaves"
  216. >Oh man
  217. >[excitement intensifies]
  218. >It takes time for the last bus to leave, which you pass by going through /sup/ on your phone
  219. >Huh, someone got new pictures of Sunny web-swinging
  220. >Man, her costume is really, /really/ flattering
  221. "Man, Sunny's so hot..."
  222. >"Thanks!"
  223. >The both of you agree that you did not, in fact, shriek like a stuck sow
  224. >Definitely not
  225. >Sunny, in full spider-gear, apologizes for sneaking up on you
  226. >You argue that "I just couldn't help myself" was not a solid defense
  227. >She argues back with another kiss on the cheek
  228. >She's right.
  229. >When you ask why she wanted you to wait, her reply is just as effective
  230. >With a red scarf on to protect your identity (and keep your cute face from getting wind-burned, she says), your.... girlfriend? takes you swinging through the air, carrying you with ease
  231. >You love it, even more so than the last time
  232. >She takes you past the notable sights in record time
  233. >Seeing Canterlot City like this... it's breathtaking
  234. >The company doesn't hurt
  235. >Not at all
  236.
  237. >Before long, you have to tap out
  238. >It's starting to get dark and you tell Sunny, er, Spidey, that you're getting hungry
  239. >"Alright, let's get something to eat, but you're paying"
  240. >Man, spider-cheapness, add that to her list of powers
  241. >So you do, stopping by a food cart for a veggie burger and a cheeseburger, along with some milkshakes
  242. >The two of you share the fries (though she takes the most) on the city library rooftop, watching the sun set with Sunset
  243. >Heh
  244. >At some point, you resume holding hands, at ease with yourselves before you finally decide to wrap things up
  245. >It doesn't take long to get back to your home
  246. >It takes less time for her to give you another kiss on the cheek
  247. >This girl...
  248. "So, uh, Sunny... are we... um... together, now?"
  249. >She freezes
  250. >Fuck
  251. >Sunset turns to face you, leaning in close
  252. >Did you fuck up agai-
  253. "Mmff"
  254. >Those are lips
  255. >On yours
  256. >And as quick as they come, they're gone
  257. >"Yeah, sweet talker, we're dating"
  258. >'THWIP'
  259. >She's gone
  260. >And so are you
  261.
  262. "This is the best day of my life"
