  1. # Silver Crest in Sword Coast
  2. There have been several incidents at the Sword Coast and beyond, from corrupt local barons who have a stash of forbidden ritual materials to the rising troubles of local monsters. Many have said that this is just a coincidence, but those who usually know indeed already knew, that there is one trace of thin red line: a mysterious silver crest that usually is found nearby the place of incidents.
  3.
  4. Rumors within some inner circles spreading regarding the true manner of this silver crest, but no definite proof can be extracted. The silver crest is intentionally left there, or as a carelessness, or something more sinister, nobody can answer for sure yet. Captured individuals only revealed that they are of lesser cells, who often contradict one another.
  5.
  6. Whatever that is, a certain coalition of many organizations are already established. Not to really investigate about it, but more to prevent the trouble or calamity to the common people, should such crest appears.
  7.
  8. Or rumored to be appearing soon.
  9.
  10. ## The Campaign Overview
  11. Silver Crest is a multi-DM campaign, consisted of independent sessions (or a collection of one-shots) where any players can take turns to try to run a session. Players may use and re-use characters of the same Silver Crest campaign in any session, upon agreement with each other. It is more or less a *west marches style* campaign, where a pool of explored areas (or information) will slowly unveiled, but possibly in a less organized approach.
  12.
  13. ### Purposes
  14.
  15. The purpose of the campaign is to provide an option for any players who want to play a random game with random person, or to run a random game. The other purpose is to facilitate a kind of *training* or providing *learning place* for anyone in playing a dnd 5e session or running as a DM.
  16.
  17. ### Disclaimer
  18.
  19. As this is a sandbox and kitchen sink random campaign, players are expected for not having a high hope on quality session. The main purpose is to provide a *learning and playing* platform for *anyone who have not find a better campaign*.
  20.
  21. A good enough dedicated campaign will always be much better than the best multi-DM west march style campaign.
  22.
  23. ### Players
  24. Any players at the D&D Indonesia (either Discord, Facebook, roll20, or any other platform) are eligible to make a character and running a session. It is advised to explain about your proficiency in running a session as DM, so the other players know what to expect and can provide help in-game. Further, please keep in mind again that the main purpose is to *learn and play together*, before finding a better campaign.

  29. ## Character Creation Guide
  30.
  31. To create a character that can play in any Silver Crest session (and gaining treasures and experience points, thus might level up), please follow the guidelines at the Discord page.
  32.
  33. * ** Setting**: The setting of the campaign is Forgotten Realms (Faerun), at a relatively loose time period; please avoid detailing this part to prevent paradox, and please keep in mind that this is still a light campaign for *learn and play together*.
  34. * ** Permitted Books**: Any of Wizards of the Coast Book for Races, Classes, and any character options.
  35. * ** Ability Score Generations**: Please use Standard Array or default Point Buy (27).
  36. * ** Initial Equipment**: Gain maximum gold points from chapter Equipment, in addition from class equipments and from background.
  37. * ** Maximum Character Level**: Maximum character level is 7 (seven).
  38. * ** Self-Manage**: Each player is expected to self-manage their character sheet, possibly manually. The platform are various, and please contact roll20 DMs regarding updating your character sheet before playing at their session.
  39. * ** Agents**: Each character is an agent of some sort to investigate and handle the matter of silver crest.
  40.
  41. ## Dungeon Mastering Guide
  42.
  43. As a general rule of thumb, please keep in mind to *have fun together*. In case this is your first few DM-ing attempts, feel free to invite a veteran or two to provide help during game, and be open about it. If you have a player new to D&D, please provide assistance as well, and adjust the session accordingly.
  44.
  45. The theme of any session should be light enough for simple storied campaign, befitting a tutorial phase.
  46.
  47. ### Setting for Session
  48. You are free to select any place of the Forgotten Realms to run a session, but please avoid making too many or too massive *changes*; in example, if you are using Waterdeep, please avoid to obviously ruining a part of the town.
  49.
  50. Alternatively, you can always use a custom place located somewhere at Forgotten Realms, that is only accessible by yourself as a DM.
  51.
  52. Please keep everything local and non-influential, since there might be other DMs and players who run other session on the same place (or similar session).
  53.
  54. ### Rewards
  55.
  56. As a DM, you are free to grant rewards to players as you see fit; however it is highly advised to use the treasure randomizer at Dungeon Master Guide or Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Alternatively, a reward in GP equal to EXP rewards should also be alright.
  57.
  58. Please avoid custom magic items and item not located at any book. Please do not let players *buy* any magic item except some potions or scrolls.
