Viridian Forest:
Stall for both bugs? Requires routing, but this does increase the odds of getting Pikachu, and it's especially good if you have bad HP for Liam. It's also VERY good for Pewter skip later on (which also requires routing).

Pewter Shopping:
Do not sell Rock Tomb.
2 Poké Balls, 5 Potions, 3 Antidotes, 3 Awakenings,  1 Escape Rope, 3 Repels (requires routing. You might want to not buy that many potions in order to afford an extra Ultra Ball in the late game).
EARLY PIKACHU MART (requires routing. Might be worth it to always do this and always delay Surge).
Sell Rock Tomb
Buy:
2 Poké Balls
4 Potions
2 Antidotes
3 Para Heals
3 Awakenings
1 Escape Rope
7 Repels

Buy Paralyze Heals in Vermilion.
YOU CANNOT BUY 3 POKÉ BALLS WITH THIS SHOPPING UNLESS YOU GET 2 ANTIDOTES.
$258 left.

Route 3:
Stall for Spearow here no matter what if good on balls? Requires routing, but it does increase your odds of getting extras such as Mankey, Pidgey, and most importantly Jigglypuff.
Switch to Mankey if you find a lvl 3 Jigglypuff (Vital Spirit).
Get Persim if 50% WP.

Mt. Moon:
Get Revive? Perhaps not if definitely doing late Surge? Probably pace dependent.
Catch Zubat? Getting crit sometimes means a death.
Consider Hiker.

Cerulean City
Deposit 3. Put Spearow in slot 1 in order to heal Wartortle.
Skip deposit if 5 in party and delay Eevee.

Route 25:
Pecha Berry? Maybe. You don't equip the Black Glasses until later. It's also very good for late Surge (Martha).
Look into Nob into Early Surge (this most likely doesn't work). It doesn't work.


Vermillion Shopping:
You might be able to skip this mart trip with early Pikachu.
4 Super Potions (skip if early Pikachu along with Boat heal?)
3 Paralyze heals
5 Repels. Rock Tunnel, Pokémon Tower, Sometimes Mansion. (skip with early Pikachu?)

Consider Late Surge with the following scenarios, in order of relevance
	>You caught Pikachu in the Forest.
	(gap)
	>You have high Torrent after Rival 3, and it will not go away at level 28 at least.
	>You fought Elixer Hiker
	>You had Torrent during Bill split.
	>You have 3 or more Mega Kicks.
	>Your pace is great.
	>You have really good attack (59% range on Mega Kick against Martha).
TL;DR: force late Surge with early Pikachu, as it is considerably faster (https://pastebin.com/BPbsA9Fa. Notice that some of these timings are different with the newer cans movement. Also, Torrent saves time on Venonat, Jigglypuff and both Ekans.)
Consider early boat heal if you need to heal for Rival 3 and you could skip the Ether.

Celadon City
Get Eevee early unless 5 in your party.

Buy:
	2 Fire Stones
	1 Thunder Stone
	1 Leaf Stone.

	3/4 X Attacks (4 if at least 2 Mega Kicks).
	5/6 X Speeds (6 X Speeds if 25 speed or less).
	22/24 X Specials (24 if doing Water Pulse strats against Rival 4).
	5/6 X Accuracies (6 if doing Mega Kick strats against Rival 4).
	2/3 Guard Specs. (3 if doing Mega Kick strats against Rival 4).
If you manage to delay TM selling, you can also sell Toxic (selling TMs is probably bad).

Pokémon Tower
YOLO Nest Ball lvl 13 or 14 Gastly.
Switch into Eevee if you encounter Cubone. If you don't have Eevee, bite 19 (17 never lives, 19 sometimes lives).
Be mindful of PP if late Surge, especially if you didn't do kick strats against Rival. You need at least 1 bite, 2 water guns, and 1 water pulse for Surge's gym.


Consider Three Island Shop Skip if you have early Pikachu. Shopping would go as follows (probably bad).
